Portuguese top division side FC Porto have announced through official channels that Nigerian midfielder Mikel Agu has extended his contract with the team till 2021.

The 23 year old has grown into an influential player for his loan side Vitoria Setubal this season. A form that has now earn him fresh terms with the Portuguese giants.

Shortly after signing the dotted lines, the hard tackling defensive midfielder said he is ready for the challenge of breaking into the first team as early as next season.

High flying French Ligue 1 side Monaco are presently locked in talks with Gent of Belgium over a possible deal in the summer for dashing winger Moses Simon according to Belgium publication Voetbalkrants.com.


Monaco have resigned to losing some of their top stars after a stellar season in France and Europe, with the team currently leading the Ligue 1 table and also through to the semi-final of the UEFA Champions League.

The club views Simon as a player who can replaced some of their stars who are expected to leave in the summer, and suggestions are that the deal is almost near completion as both parties are eager for the move to go through.


Presently what is holding the deal is a compromise on what will be the sell on clause due to Gent, if the 23 year old leaves Monaco in a few years time, and the duration which the clause will last.

I will share a first hand experience when I was in secondary school, a friend of mine James used to be fastest sprinter in the school. He was clocked by our games master running sub 12 seconds in a 100 meters dash at Js 3. This guy haven't met a trainer in his life, he doesn't know anything about diets and haven't trained at a high performance training centre.
If he had undergone some of these training programmes, we would be looking at an African record holder before he turned 18 and probably a multiple Olympic gold/silver medalist.

All that is past tense, he is now working in a chilled ac office and probably haven't done 2 push ups in donkey years.

A lot of talents slip through our fingers in this country in astronomical numbers that even those we call our best aren't really the best.

According to media reports in Nigeria, the proposed international friendly between Germany and Nigeria has been scheduled for 17 November 2017.

Nigerian media reports reveal that the highly anticipated friendly game between the Super Eagles and the Manschaft has been confirmed.

According to a to a member of the Nigeria Football Federation, the ongoing talks between the two football associations has bore fruit.


Super Eagles of Nigeria mentor, Gernot Rohr is reportedly the first person to confirm talks with the world champions.
OwnGoalNigeria website has it that Rohr confirmed the fixture before a mail was sent by the Nigerian website to a member of the German FA.


The match is meant to prepare the Nigeria national team for the task of qualifying for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, and the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

Chelsea scored five goals against Manchester City on Wednesday night, but it was Ugbo's sublime strike in the first half that produced a brilliant reaction from Conte and the Italian was captured by the cameras smiling, as if to show he's impressed with his qualities.

London-born Ugbo joined Chelsea at U10 level and has racked up an impressive 62 goals for the U18, U19 and U23 teams since his debut in the 2013-14 season.

so many nations have been stealing our players all because they grew up in their academics so it won't be bad should we get to cap our west Africa neighbors lads...it will even be exciting

But one thing is I cannot rate even the best 11 from this tournament as totally good enough for the eaglets. Recall I described that Million Kome guy as a potential candidate for the eaglets team.

Why?

This U15 tournament carries players who were horridly assembled for the sake of the tourney.
No traditional academy team is participating. I believe those academy boys may be more grounded in the knowledge of the game than these ones.

My take is after selecting 23 players from this tourney the selection should also be extended to cover players from the traditional football academies. And let the best be taken.

So when you don't see some of the best from this tournament not making the next eaglets team let's not cry fowl. And I sincerely wish the selection be done without sentiments and "mago-mago".

Probably or probably not. He may still have found relevance later in his career. A golden fish has no hiding place

Etebo was dropped by Manu Garba at U20 level but he found his way into Siasia's U23. And today he has featured for the Super Eagles before all those Manu U20 players except Simon and Iheanacho.

You saw how Osimhen and Success walked into the Eaglets camp without anyone fronting them. And they both emerged top CF for their respective eaglets team.

When you are destined for greatness no one can stop it.

So true, I read just now how Anthony Joshua wanted to fight for Nigeria in the 2012 Olympics but was not given a chance by the boxing coaches. He won the Gold medal for England and is now world champion. That is how we lost a Gold medal and a potential world champion.

They are not few but many, did you look at Chelsea U18 Youth Cup winners 2017, yesterday.

At least 4 Nigerian origin boys in that team.

There is no club in EPL club in London that doesn't have at Least 20 boys in its youth ranks.
