I read in a report where Pep said he would like to see what could have been had he had Gabby J supporting Ageuro upfront or had he had Gabby J fit for some games in which City faltered....... no thoughts on Nacho as usual.

Funny philosophical man.

Yea,,,,i saw it yesterday

I don't think Pep said that (I stand corrected sha). I know he no longer even mentions our boy as one of his strikers. I know though that thegoodjoe says it alot when he wants to explain away why Pellegrini plays Kelechi and Pep does not. I'm sure he's looking for how to explain that as I type.

TheGoodJoe:

Nacho is having difficulty getting playing time. That can not be used as a not improving reason for Nacho.

There are factors against Nacho but there are two most important reasons why Nacho is not playing regularly.

1. Competition of players ahead of Nacho. Aguero who is a Super player and the Brazilian No. 9 player, Gabriel Jesus.

2. Guardiola insisting on a one striker system. Pellegrini played a two strikers system. That was why Iheanacho got chances. That does not mean not improving.

KAA Gent sign two Nigerian youngsters

Belgian Pro League side KAA Gent have completed signing two Nigerians, Anthony Ikedi and Reuben Yem this week, supersport.com can report.

The two talented players hail from the famous Jos-based GBS Football Academy renowned for producing young gifted players and were hooked on three-year deals each by the Belgian club after their chief scout visited the academy in Nigeria recently.

Ikedi, who stands at 198cm and plays as a defensive midfielder, has already been sent out on loan to FK Haugesund while right-back Yem, who is described as a crafty tough and pacy utility player, will stay at the Ghelamco Arena as he has already received his work permit and is eligible for selection once he arrives in Gent in the summer.

FK Haugesund's Jostein Grindhaug who has watched Ikedi at the GBS academy, believes the 18-year-old has "very big potential" to become a big star which is one of the reasons the Norwegian club signed him on loan.

"Ikedi is a physically strong player, with good feet and has a very big potential that we look forward," Grindhaug said.

The Norwegian outfit were however quick to land their man on loan just before the March 31 deadline of their transfer window.

Ikedi will now wait to make his debut for Haugesund once a work permit is granted from the country's authorities.

While the NPFL top scorer is probably going to FC Krasnodar... Gent, who have a good chance of playing in the Champion League next year have signed two academy players... Why did Gent not look at the league for quality players, why did their scouts go to academies? This means that Reuben Yem could be playing champions league next year if he makes an impression.

Maybe NPFL players are expensive more than the products from our academies.

Aguero evens the scoreline with a penalty.

Meanwhile, how is the Aguero and Jesus combo work in our for him? Not quite as many goals as he envisioned?

The best combo City had this season remains the KDB-Kelechi-Sterling combo earlier in the season.

*Modified*
It's 2-1 Middleborough in the lead. City has never won Middleborough in a PL game.

The best i can call ur information is heresay. Also top players get offered to clubs all the time so where is all this going? U sound like a kill joy. Were u not the one who said the best NPFL players could get was trials? Now Odey has a deal on the table without trials so i guess u are looking for a way to save face.

I am talking about a serious issue and you are calling me a 'kill-joy'. Let's remember Odey has not even signed for the Russian side. Nothing is even guaranteed yet.

Look around Europe. All our players in major clubs were not signed from the league. Every now and then, we hear of an Academy player signed by Porto or by Dutch teams. Why are our league players not getting such juicy deals? Our league players are not getting the right kinds of deals.

Last year, Chisom Egbuchulam had a terrific year and the best deal he got was a loan deal to Sweden. Till today, he has not played a second for his Swedish side.

When people identify issues, it is not as a result of hate.

That could be a major factor but there should be a gulf in quality between academy boys and professionals that allows then pay the extra money.

It is not set in stone that every player who leaves the NPFL will become a star, that is simply not how the world works. All the time players move to clubs and don't play. Victor Moses didn't play much at liverpool. We both know u have an ulterior motive of justifying the overlooking of NPFL players. Did Etebo pop out of the sky? That is proof that u can still find top talent in the NPFL.
