Have you been to Abuja?
90% of Abuja is made up of residential estates, heck the largest estate in Africa is in Abuja.
Most Abuja estates supply 24 hrs electricity and water to their occupants.
i thought we've established that already?
Ive been to Abuja and Tema is bigger than Abuja. Mind, you im talking about built environment.
Tema was the first planned city built from nothing probably in West Africa.
It hasit own central sewage system

Do you know that nigeria accounts for more than 60% of real estate expansion in west africa,

The federal govt is building about 80-100 units of housing for low income earners in the 36 states

State governments are independently building several low income houses e.g last year, sokoto commissioned 500 units, lagos since the time of lateef jakande have built more than 25,000 units, research"lagos homs"",anambra govt via pppis developing myriads of estates, many private investors are in torch

Research on gwarinmpa estate abuja, it is dubbed the largest estate in west africa,

Kano govt is done with amana city, kwankwasiyya city, and building kanawa economic city by btains and hammers, ado bayero- emir estates, and 2,000 units of low income estates, you can research on them,

Ogun is building myriads of estate cities, oyo, enugu, imo, anambra, kaduna, benin city,rivers-rainbow town etc

Many nigerians no longer depend on govt, with major cities and suburbs developing vast real estates via individualistic approach

Nigeria is huge, believe you me

Infact ehn, i think i have to give up on these arguments with these people.
It's such an insult to see these countries comparing themselves with Nigeria because of their little achievements in Accra, they don't know that they should be competing rather with some states in Nigeria.

Let Ghanaians and others hear this loud and clear!
For everything that is being built in Accra or Kumasi, it is being replicated almost in the entire 36 states of Nigeria.
Nigerian governors are now competing heavily with each other on whose states should be better.
Some Nigerian states are now even outcompeting the Nigerian federal government. That's why you see some Nigerian cities outcompeting Abuja (Federal capital territory) in developmental strides.

This competition between Nigerian states is getting hotter by the year and in few years from now, many Nigerian states will be competing individually with the biggest countries in Africa. Lagos and Rivers states have already started this.

Sorry guys, we are really really not your mates in anything. This is why many Nigerians are fighting for fiscal federalism and confederacy. Nigeria should be a union of countries and not just a country.

No, you are the bigger idiot here.
Haven't you heard of Lekki city, Banana island, Ikoyi island, Ajah, Lagos island e.t.c in Lagos? Or you think Lagos state is so small as Nairobi?
All these places i mentioned for you were built entirely from the scratch.
Lekki city was built from the scratch few years ago and it now has over 500k people, almost all who live in estates.

What about Abuja? Do you think people are allowed to build their houses anywhere they like in Abuja? Only estate developers build houses in Abuja and this is why the largest estate and some of the most beautiful estates in Africa are in Abuja.
Most of these modern and new estates in Abuja and Lagos provide 24 hours electricity, water and a sewage system for their residents. They also provide malls, entertainment and recreational centres for their residents. These estates are in a hot competition for domination of the cities if you know what am talking about.

Some of you fools just think what you read on the media about Nigeria is all that there is to Nigeria and this is the height of stupidity.

I haven't even talk about the wonderful estates springing up in other Nigerian cities like Enugu, Ibadan, Port harcourt, Kano e.t.c
only the rich of Nigeria lives in Abuja grin grin
You can't afford it no matter how affordable it may be
Alienating 160 million people

I didn't know this. WHAT'S THE STORY

@stervydman

READ THE MOST INTERESTING STORY

The fight first started with the 'Treaty of Wuchale' Article 13. Which was signed between Italy and Ethiopia (Emperor Menelik the second)

The treaty was both written in Amharic and Itallic . . .

"Ethiopia have the right to exchange goods with the outside world without the permission of Italy"
is what it says on the AMHARIC version

BUT THIS IS WHAT IT SAYS ON THE ITALLIC VERSION

"Ethiopia DON'T have the right to exchange goods with out the permission of Italy"

The Emperor of Ethiopia didn't know the two versions have different meanings. He only read the Amharic version, so he signed it.

This was the first step Italy took to make us under them. They knew we wouldn't sign the Treaty if they'd make both versions same meaning.

An Ethiopian who knew how to speak Italy showed up and informed the Emperor what the Italic version was saying. The Emperor got very dissapointed and felt dared.

The next move of the Italians was to fight us and colonize us. One thing they didn't know was that there was an Ethiopian spy in their team. (Am very sorry, I forgot his name)

He recommended them to go fight Ethiopia on Sunday. And the day was on holiday, 'In Ethiopian Orthodox religion, Ethiopians don't fight on Sunday. And plus the day I have recommended you is a special day for them. They will take it as a sin fighting in that day. There is no better chance than this! " the Ethiopian spy told them

Infact, all he said about us was true. And the Itallians beleived him. The General promised the Queen of Italy that he will bring the neck of Emperor Menelik.

The spy also told the Itallians to chill and go for the fight because they were about to show up in Ethiopia without letting the Emperor know that the fight will be taking place on Sunday.

But the Spy have already informed the Empror immediately after the Itallians agreed.

All what the Itallians expected when they show up in Ethiopia was sleepy people. But it was the exact opposite, the Ethiopians were waiting for them with unity and scary power.

Before the war started, Emperor Menelik asked the people of Ethiopia, "for those who have strength, help me with the fight. . .and for those who don't have that, help me with your prayer"

The war started, every Ethiopian had their own contributions on the war. Women give aid and bring water for their husbands (which were fighting on the war)

Even the wife of the Emperor, Empress Taytu had a big influence. She ordered the troops to fight in different directions.

There was a time when Ethiopia was loosing. . .because the Itallians started digging and hide in the ditches. So whenever the Ethiopian troops pass, they will kill the Ethiopians.

The Itallians stayed in the ditches for days. Empress Taytu ordered the ET troops to stop moving, then she started
looking for a solution. She knew there was something important in there that they stayed in the ditches there for long. She predicted if they had access to water, so she ordered to find and cut the water pipe. Which she was right!

The itallians came out weak then Ethiopia had a victory. Many Itallians were captured. . . .

The Italy government asked for the captured weaopns. But. . .
Emperor Menelik returned all the Itallian troops and thier weapons.

"Next time you come for a fight, you can bring the whole Italy population, we will defeat you!"
was the statment of Emperor Menelik. . .

THE END

Stop making yourself look like an idiot.... The Victoria island pictures you are posting here only houses 0.0001 percent of the 10m Lagosians which is around 50k or so while the rest of the 10m live in squalor and pathetic situation. No running water, lack of hospital facilities, no sewage system, lethargic sewage system, poorly equipped public schools, non existent waste disposal system. Nigeria is a bad joke.
Your ignorance left me in awe. That was just a sub-hurb of Lagos, there are still many of them with modern facilities, Lagos is actually a state in Nigeria comprising of many cities/sub-hurbs, I would have loved to school you a bit to satisfy your curiosity, but you never sounded like someone who is willing to learn, hence I would leave you with your ignorance and hate filled soul, or you can better still try google.

First of all. Abuja city does not have a definite area. This is why it is located in the FCT (over 7,000 km²) and the city is eventually targetted to cover the whole FCT very soon.

Look at the land area of Tema metropolis and Abuja municipality below and compare by yourself pls.
Remember that Abuja municipality does not cover Abuja satelite towns within the FCT

grin The Oxygen guy was posting random pictures of small Ghana and I was just laughing, while my fellow Compatriot is posting just pictures of the Lagos and it's sub-hurbs and still beating the contest, that's to tell we compare your whole country to Lagos.

I had tried several times to explain to these guys that Nigeria is too big for this comparison, but they won't listen, Nigeria has 36 states, and each of these states have got a capital city, which we don't even touch most times in course any argument, Now imagine what it would look like posting random pictures of these places... the comparison would eventually look biased, because we would beat them hands down! heck... I would keep reiterating that Nigeria is too big for this argument, for every one structure you have, we have 36 of them scattered across different cities and state capitals here in Nigeria including Abuja.

deal with that!

Are you an illiterate? There is nothing like driving from Abuja end to end. And what if Abuja was triangularly shaped and you traversed the apex part of it? Can you call that end to end?

You can only judge with the km² land area of the municipality, and it is far far larger than Tema metropolis.
Tema just has less than 200k people and you want to compare with Abuja municipality with over 2 million people currently.
Let's take your joke nicely.

The federal govt now want to integrate all Abuja satelite towns within the FCT into Abuja municipality and that would make Abuja city so massive (over 5 million people) in a well planned Abuja city. Imagine that?
Another huge financial centre like Lagos is loading in Nigeria.

North to south and East to West, that us what i mean by end to end.
I guess geography was a problem for you
It's like me saying, the northern region of Ghana has the largest land area in Ghana so its bigger but when you go there, its just a small build up area.
Abuja is smaller than Tema and i did the driving myself
