Mujtahida:

Wait ooo, I am not understanding. As an attacker what should Kc have done other than the running?

After the game against Algeria, some members of this thread criticised Iheanacho's performance because he did not have an overwhelming performance with the ball. They felt he had a poor game.

However, I pointed out that he was brilliant off the ball. His running, created spaces for the team to thrive.

It is not only shooting and passing that matters in football but also what the player does when he is not with the ball.

Another attacker might run but not with as much intensity and consistency. Not tiring out and continue pushing.

Ignore The Captain and heartbeat of the Super Eagles midfield ??

Abeg... the point is flawed already.

Mikel -Nwakali... is not the same as Kayode-Osimhen/Success...

Mikel is a regular and starter in the Super Eagles... Kayode is not... haba!!!

See my point is this, why invite an unfit Victor Osimhen and Isaac Success when you have Paul and Adi

At the moment I will even rate Muazam and Odeh ahead of Victor Osimhen.

Sone ahead of Iwobi.

Rohr is not fair to them period.

How many strikers will start against South Africa? One.... who will it be most likely? Iheanacho... Who is the second striker based on our last game? Kayode...

So it is logical, a top youngster is brought in to settle in also in preparation for the near future...
Adi and Onuachu hopefully will get their chances.... but we cannot have "experienced" overload in one position in camp and end up not using them

Osimhen is a top prospect... same as Odey and MuaZam. Rohr have seen Osimhen in action and is very impressed with his qualities.... in terms of who is an all-round striker/footballer among the youngsters, You expect Rohr to drop Osimhen who he has assessed and marked out as top quality over MuaZam and Odey??

Calm down naa... these things are not always straight at times...

note: MuaZam is even among the Home-based players that will be in France.... he and Sikiru Olatunbosun will be there... and the ofcos Ikechukwu Ezenwa... Odey may not make it because of his passport being held in one European embassy like that..... (When replying you I forgot the fact that I have reported the news here sef)

Aluko ahead of Iwobi.... Hmmmm.... Rohr rates Iwobi highly and truthfully, despite his little slump of late, he remains a class-act... he still makes the matchday squads for Arsenal unlike Nacho (no thanks to Pep's bias preferences).

But yes, Aluko deserves his chance... but if Rohr feels Iwobi is still okay... then well... what can I do? sad But I hope Aluko makes the list shaa for the France camping...

In conclusion, I still feel Rohr knows best... he knows that team more than we do... plss let him work... while we drop advice and analysis from time to time

Brighton looking to add Chelsea attacker to their ranks to aid PL survival bid

The Sun is reporting that Tammy Abraham is a summer target for Brighton and Hove Albion.

Brighton are looking to add a few quality players to their squad ahead of their first ever Premier League campaign and they have identified Tammy Abraham as a possible striker addition.
The 19-year-old has been a revelation on loan at Bristol City this year.

His tally of 23 goals sees him ranked second in the top scorer charts (behind Chris Wood) and his strikes have helped keep the Robins up this season.

Brighton are reportedly keen to take the England under 21 international on a season long loan next year to help him with his next stage of development.

Breaking into the Chelsea first team still looks a tough ask for the prolific teenage striker but a loan move to a Premier League team would benefit all three parties.

Brighton are keen to add him to their attacking options as they search for goals in the top flight next season.

Victor Moses' interview with skysports before today's game vs Everton.
.......................................................................................................

Victor Moses reflects on already unforgettable 2016-17 Chelsea season

The 2016-17 season has a chance to be a very special one for Chelsea, but for some players, such as Victor Moses , it’s already become an unforgettable one.

Perhaps even more so than most at the club, the 26-year-old winger was eager to prove his worth on the big stage following his three seasons away from the club on various loans at
Liverpool , Stoke City and West Ham. In preseason, and not for the first time, Moses impressed. But this time, unlike all previous times with Chelsea, his performances were not only acknowledged, but were rewarded by a first-team spot.

"It's frustrating when you know your manager wants to use other players ahead of you and you've got to go on loan to different clubs. You get injured and all of a sudden you're not getting back in the team. You can't settle well. You've got to move your kids to a new school every season… Stuff like that is always going to play in your head."

"I've never doubted the ability that I've got. Chelsea is one of the best clubs in the world and I've always believed I have the ability to get into the team. I've proved that this season. I just kept working hard and kept believing in myself. I've moved on from the difficult times now. This is a season I am never going to forget."

However, not even Moses himself could’ve predicted that his season would play out in the way that it has. From early season substitute appearances as a winger, to one of the first names on the team-sheet at a brand new position ... it turns out that all Moses needed was a bit of trust, a bit of love, and a few fresh ideas.

"For a manager to come up to you and speak to you [that you will be staying at the club], it meant a lot. I really appreciated it."

"We've got a manager now who gives everyone the opportunity to express themselves. I felt that from the start, right from the first day of training. He was talking to all the players. There was no favouritism. Everyone was the same to him. As long as you went out and proved yourself, he would give you the opportunity. I was very pleased to see that. It gave me confidence."

"He knows I'm good offensively. He has always said to me that I'm very good in one-v-ones, but defensively he's always working hard on me in training to make sure I'm solid. It has helped bring my game to another level. He talks to me a lot. I really appreciate that from a manager."

Moses may be tired of talking about his (very successful) conversion to a wing-back and how that all came about, but of course he had to hit at least the highlights in this latest interview with Sky Sports ahead of Sunday’s showdown at Goodison against Everton.

"The first time he put me there was the day after we lost to Arsenal. We all knew the formation he liked to play when he was Italy manager, but I had never actually thought about playing wing back. After the session he went through it all with me, how to play the position and everything. I took it in and didn't look back."

"I've always played in different positions. I don't see myself in one position. I'm an all-round player. Wherever the manager asks me to play, I'm willing to do it to help the team."
-Victor Moses; Source: Sky Sports

Moses’s attitude has been exemplary throughout his Chelsea career and his success this season is sure to serve as inspiration for many of the 30+ loanees currently out on various assignments across Europe and England. With a fresh contract in hand, signed a couple months ago , Victor’s Chelsea career has only just begun.

Hugely Talented almost like Kelechi,
I think Rohr is out for youth U23 and talent, he prefers those in the big 7 rather than smaller leagues, and also seems to want to graduate players who performed well in the youth setup, which doesn't always work as some of them might have been at their qeak then

Exclusive: South African-Based Goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi To Miss Nigeria Friendly Vs Corsica

Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that South African-based goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi will miss the Super Eagles friendly against Corsica on May 26 in Ajaccio.

The Chippa United netminder has not been included in the list of professionals instructed to report to camp for the fixture.
A day after the proposed friendly against the Islanders, Akpeyi is expected to be in goal for the Chilli Boys when they tackle Free State Stars in the ABSA Premiership, and this has effectively ruled him out.

Former Flying Eagles star Dele Alampasu and Wolves star Carl Ikeme have been called up to the training camp.

As previously reported by this website two weeks ago , Chelsea wing-back Victor Moses and Arsenal midfielder Alex Iwobi may be excused from the friendly as both London teams will face off in the FA Cup final on May 27.

Liverpool Send Scouts To Watch 20-Year Old Nigerian Defender From FC Porto
By Thomas Hein

Chidozie Awaziem

Jurgen Klopp seems to have found a new target for his defence and the German could be going the route of signing another starlet if things are to happen basis reports .

Chidozie Awaziem, a Nigerian defender who plays for FC Porto B, is the targeted player that Klopp wants and the Premier League club have been scouting him for a few weeks now according to reports.

The 20-year-old was also watched by a Liverpool scout in a Nigeria-Senegal friendly match at Barnet, unfortunately, the central defender didn’t get to play in that game.

The defender moved to Porto from a side called El-Kameni Warriors in 2014 and has played in a number of important games for the senior side but currently is playing for the B team.

The defender has had a number of great performances in the Europa Youth League as well which seems to have caught the eye of the Reds.

Though Awaziem seems to be a great talent for the future, he cannot be seen as the player that can solve Liverpool’s defensive problems. The Reds have struggled to keep clean sheets this season and need a leader in the heart of the defence.

The Kop Times Verdict

Although Liverpool have done well when Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip have played together, injuries have ensured the pair don’t play too many games.

Liverpool also have Joe Gomez as one of their upcoming defenders but the Englishman has had a number of injury setbacks as well and Awaziem could be seen as the perfect player to have as a backup for the first choice pair.

The Reds have also been linked with a number of left-backs as Ryan Sessegnon is the number one target for the Merseyside club. The summer will feature a lot of rebuilding from Jurgen Klopp and Awaziem might be a player we need to keep an eye on for the future, should he move to Anfield.

£12.5 MILLION, 13 GAMES, ZERO GOALS: WHAT'S WRONG WITH ISAAC SUCCESS?
By Shina Oludare

The Nigeria forward moved to Watford with great expectations, but has struggled for goals this season

Isaac Success has failed to score in his last 13 Premier League matches, his longest drought ever in professional football, but what exactly has gone wrong?

In 2016, Watford forked out a club-record fee to bring the forward to Vicarage Road following his impressive run with Granada, but since Success's arrival, it's fair to say that the Hornets have not received great value for their money as the Nigerian looks to have lost his Midas touch.

The 21-year-old made a low-key debut on August 27 2016, and registered his first goal four games later against Bournemouth.
After that, the one-cap Super Eagles hitman has played 13 times for Watford, failing to find the net even once – which could be a cause for his team’s blip over the past few games

In last Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Hull City, he offered next-to-nothing as he failed to muster one shot on target during a game in which he was entrusted with the responsibility of leading the Hornets attack after replacing Nordin Amrabat, and it remains to be seen whether he will start against Liverpool on Monday evening.

Aside his injury worries, it is difficult to explain Success’ problems, although one theory is that he is less comfortable with Walter Mazzarri’s tactics than he was in his previous set-up at Granada.

However, former Real Madrid midfielder, Mutiu Adepoju has contrary opinion – he feels the forward is still trying to adapt to English football, while suggesting he works harder during trainings to get back to his best.

''There's no cause for worry about [Success's] lack of goals, every good striker undergoes a drought at one point in time or the other,’’ Adepoju told Goal.

''For now it could be difficult for him getting the goals because at Watford, he plays more as a supporting striker but I believe with hardwork and focus especially during training, he will surely get back his form.''

Despite Success’ struggles, he remains a key figure in Mazzarri’s squad and still gets a fair share of action on matchdays despite the January arrivals of M'Baye Niang and Stefano Okaka.

The season may be drawing to a close, but the Nigerian must start firing on all cylinders as soon as possible for the sake of his club and for his own future. Should he continue with this unproductive spell – he might just be shipped out of Vicarage Road at the end of the season.

Ex-England U19 Captain Ola Aina To Train With Nigeria Squad In France

Former England U19 skipper Ola Aina will train with the Nigerian national team in Corsica this coming month.

There had been fears that the Chelsea right fullback is reconsidering his decision to suit up for the three-time African champions, but the Nigeria Football Federation have confirmed that he has been included in the roster for the get-together.

“He’s one of the players for the training camp in France,” a Super Eagles official told scorenigeria.com.ng.

“He can play as a right back or left back.”

Aina was handed a late call-up to the Super Eagles in March, and impressed the players and manager Gernot Rohr during the training camp in London.

Football governing body Fifa has to approve his change of international allegiance because he played competitive matches for England youth teams.

Ex-Chelsea Ace Mikel Off To Qatar For Rehab After Hernia OP, Rules Himself Out Of Action For One Month

John Obi Mikel is racing against the clock to be fit for Nigeria's African Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa in Uyo on June 10.

An experienced European surgeon operated on the versatile midfielder in England this past weekend, and it has been estimated that he'll need at least three weeks to recover and start full training with his teammates at Tianjin Teda, but the Nigeria captain is being conservative.

''My injury is muscle strain and hernia, I hope to always be in the field for the team to make them stronger, so I have been enduring the pain,'' Mikel was quoted as saying by sohu.com.

''But two weeks ago I completely hurt the groin muscles, and also the emergence of hernia, so I have to choose surgery.''
The Tianjin Teda captain added : ''I had surgery yesterday (Saturday), surgery was successful, muscle strain and hernia were done with both surgery.

''I'm not sure when I can go back to Tianjin, I may rejoin a month later, before that I may go to Qatar to do rehabilitation, so I can be in a good physical state, I will return to the team.''

Without the important Mikel, Tianjin Teda have won only once, against Yanbian Funde, lost two matches against Guangzhou Evergrande and Hebei CFFC, and drew once against Guizhou Zhicheng.

Man City to use Iheanacho makeweight in massive Aubameyang deal

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Would Man City be willing to part with Kelechi Iheanacho in order to land BVB star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang?
The football world's gossip mill is in full swing, and Transfer Talk is monitoring the whispers ahead of all the summer moves. Check out the latest deals and potential deals here.

Man City's plan to lure Aubameyang

Manchester City know that they'll need to offer Borussia Dortmund a pretty sweet deal if they are to cash-in on highly prized asset Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Gabon international is one of Europe's very best strikers, having found the back of the net 35 times this season, and cash alone may not be enough to convince Thomas Tuchel's side to sell.

The Sun, however, says that there has been a breakthrough in talks between the two clubs, with Pep Guardiola reportedly prepared to offer 20-year-old wonderkid Kelechi Iheanacho as a sweetener to get the £60 million deal across the line.

Iheanacho has fallen down the City pecking order since Gabriel Jesus' arrival in January, and a move to the Bundesliga may appeal to the striker, who is chasing game time to ensure he's part of Nigeria's 2018 World Cup plans.

That's the thing.

Many of these so called street clubs built a reputation and have sold multiple players to big sides. I am not talking about your typical road side team.

For instance, From Muntunchi Academy, Musa Yahaya, Moses John of Porto, and Ajax recently signed a kid named Aliyu Mahmoud.

Football College Abuja is another one that has been successful in selling multiple talents abroad.

Simon Moses is from GBS Academy. Gent went back there and signed two more Nigerians.

These clubs are not randomly choosing academies. The club close to you has not yet gotten the reputation. They choose the ones with some reputation.

The deals I want to see happen when the transfer window opens ; the first stanza features the players already under our bonnet while the second are those I term the "IFs", and it features players who seem to be considering pledging their allegiance to us.

1. Iheanacho as a makeweight to land Auba
2. Emeruo as a makeweight to land Coulibaly
3. Moses Simon to Monaco
4. Henry Onyekuru to Gladbach
5. Mikel Agu back to FC PORTO
6. Uche Agbo back to Watford
7. Awaziem to Liverpool
8. Etebo to Leicester or Monaco
9. Yahaya to Porto first team
10. Azu Okechukwu to either Besiktas or Monaco
11. Nwakali KC a loan move to any of the Belgium top teams.

The "IFs"

1. Onyedinma to Watford
2. Akpom with another year at Brighton
3. Osayi-Samuel to Tottenham
4. Ola Aina to a midtable team on loan
5. Iorfa to West Ham
6. Tammy as a makeweight to land Lukaku

Special mentions to guys like Moses odubajo, I pray hull doesn't get relegated, Sone Aluko, I pray Fulham secures promotion to the EPL. Kingsley Ehizibue, I pray Pec Zwole also Survives the drop, Francis Uzoho, I hope deportivo beats the drop.

To oga forgiveness alias SolankeAjagun , hopefully Roda beats the drop, and also Chelsea loans out Dominic to a midtable team or better yet, sale him to RB LEIPZIG.
