soln.

(t1/t2) = sqr rut (L1/L2)

2/t2 = sqr rut (0.4/0.8 )

2/t2= sqr rut (1/2)

t2 = 2rut2

final ansa t2 = 2 rut 2

Let me solve it in a first class way so that you will get all your mark.
Solution:
L1=0.4m, T1=2 sec
L2=0.8m, T2=?
For a. Simple pendulum with period p
We have the formula
P= 2/pie(√L1/√L2) i.e
2/pie( sqrt of L1/L2)
Therefore, T=√L
Using the formular above,we have
T1/T2 =√L1/√L2
= 2/T2 =√0.4/√0.8
By cross multiplying
2√0.8 = T2√0.4
Dividing both sides by the co-efficient of T2
We get
T2= 2√0.8/√0.4
But √0.8=0.89442719099999
And √0.4=0.6324555320336
T2= 2*0.89442719099999/0.6324555320336
T2= 1.7888543819999/0.6324555320336
T2=2.8284271247467
Approximating
T2 = 2.83 sec. Answer.
