What did I miss? Nice move for separation of Powers @Thesupernerd. We need a breakdown of the overfamiliarity that makes the local league to be a mess of itself. Remains this home win syndrome that is still happening like the ice age squirrel that refuses to part with that nut.
During the leadership tussle between Baribote and Owumi, I heard something like club chairmen being the only ones eligible to contest for league chairman or so. Have that been scrapped also?

yes, it has with dis move there will only be one chairman, wicch is the state FA, cos most of our clubs are govt owned club, and by investing the power on the state FA, PINNICJs bff is saking to encourage the monopoly of the state FA and by so doing the clubs

Forget Enyeama, He is not coming back – NFF

Super Eagles officials have said they are amused over recent reports that efforts have been stepped up to convince Vincent Enyeama to come out of international retirement as they disclosed the last time coach Gernot Rohr contacted the Lille goalkeeper was in October.

Media reports have suggested efforts are being made to get Enyeama to return to the Super Eagles especially with the unavailability of Carl Ikeme.

But team officials have now said the story is “a non-starter”.

According to one of the Eagles officials:“There is nothing like this except of course in the media because the last time Rohr spoke to Enyeama was in October.

“The goalkeeper trainer Alloy Agu has assured us he has enough capable hands in the absence of Carl (Ikeme).

“Besides (Daniel) Akpeyi and (Ikechukwu) Ezenwa, we also have Alampasu and Emmanuel Daniel.

“So, we are very much covered in that department.”

However, the NFF maintained the decision to recall Enyeama is the sole responsibility of Rohr.

Long-serving Enyeama called time on his international career in October 2015 after a major row with then Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh.

Leon Balogun In Line To Captain Super Eagles In Friendly Game Against Corsica

The captaincy of the Super Eagles of Nigeria could land on the arm of Mainz 05 defender Leon Balogun following uncertainty over the availability of deputy captain Ogenyi Onazi.

The Eagles newly installed deputy captain Onazi could miss the game due to club commitment with his Turkish side Trabzonspor, and with captain John Obi excused from the Eagles camp and subsequently friendly game in France, Elderson Echiejile will wear the armband as captain.

However, Echiejile is the only recognised left back who has the trust of the coach, a situation which could see him take partial part in the game against Corsica to keep him fresh for the AFCON 2019 Qualifiers against South Africa.

Leon Balogun is currently the front runner to wear the arm band if Echiejile is rested or replaced in the friendly tie, as he is the oldest member of the team aside Ahmed Musa who dropped the armband shortly before the game against Senegal.

Balogun made his debut for Nigeria in 2014 in a friendly game against Mexico before the World Cup in Brazil, making him one of the senior players in the team at the moment.

Exclusive – Man City Grant Hoffenheim Permission To Speak With Iheanacho

The future of Manchester City Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho might be decided sooner than later, as Owngoalnigeria.com exclusively gathered that German Bundesliga side Hoffenheim have been granted permission to speak with the forward.

Iheanacho doesn’t fit into the playing style of manager Pep Guardiola despite his high goal conversion rate, with the manager preferring other payers ahead of the Nigerian in attack.

Guardiola has frozen him out of the first team set up since the start of the year. A move which has alerted top clubs in Europe who are keen to have the forward who has been told he is free to leave.

As exclusively reported by this portal, Hoffenheim are one of the numerous clubs chasing his signature this summer, and reports sourced by our transfer expert Daniel Martins has it that they have been granted permission to speak with the forward.

To that effect Hoffenheim’s sporting director Alexander Rosen will meet with the forward before the end of this month to reel out the plans the club has for him.

However Manchester City have made it clear that the 20 year old forward will only leave on loan or an outright sale with a buy back clause included in any deal they will agree for his permanent transfer.

MFM FC value Stephen Odey at $1 million

5:15 AM PT
Dami Ugbane, KweséESPN

MFM FC have valued the Nigeria Professional Football League's top goalscorer, Stephen Odey, in the region of $700,000-$1,000,000, amid constant transfer speculations linking him abroad.

This disclosure was made by the clubs director Emanuel Adeyemi, on a Lagos radio programme on Thursday, where he further disclosed the 19-year-old striker has a binding contract with the club.

"We are looking at between $700,000 to a million for the player," Adeyemi began. "He's a bona fide player of MFM and is contracted to our club," he insisted.

Earlier, Odey's agent, Yusuf, had stated that the player was only on "a facility tour" of Danish club, FC Midtjylland, though reports surfacing out of Denmark have indicated the player is undergoing trials in the Scandinavia nation.

MFM FC said Odey was only in Denmark for a medical after the player departed the country without initially informing his employers of his whereabouts, but all that has now been sorted

Alex Iwobi Could Lose National Team Spot To Watford Isaac Success

Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi who has lost his starting spot at Arsenal could suffer same faith with the Nigeria national team, according to reports reaching the editorial desk of Owngoalnigeria.com.

Coach of the Super Eagles Gernot Rohr was impressed by the way Watford star Isaac Success turned the recent friendly tie against Senegal in favour of Nigeria after replacing Iwobi.

Iwobi struggled against the physicality of the Senegalese in the 1-1 draw in London, but Success proved to Rohr that he can thrive in physical battles, something Rohr feels is needed against African teams.

Success however need to match or surpass same feat in the Eagles next friendly game against Corsica Island to stand a chance of knocking Iwobi out of the team for the AFCON 2019 Qualifiers against South Africa in Uyo.

The Watford star has struggled to shake off fitness issues following his big money move from Granada in the summer. The issue has reduced him to a substitute for Watford as coach Walter Mazzari has other forwards ahead of him.

Midtjylland Target Odey Added To Super Eagles List For France Camp By Rohr

The top scorer in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Stephen Odey will train with the Super Eagles of Nigeria during their camp in France.

Odey is expected in the country later today, and will apply for his visa at the French embassy, something he failed to do last week due to the trip he made to Denmark, where he attended trials with FC Midtjylland.

19 year old Odey has 14 goals this season in the NPFL for modest team MFM, and will join the Eagles in training alongside strike partner at MFM Sikiru Olatunbosun as part of the home based players picked by Rohr.

Other local lads called up to the camp in France include FC Ifeanyi Uba shot stopper Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Akwa United forward Alhassan Ibrahim popularly referred to as Mu’azam.

Bar Odey, the others have already submitted their documents for visa processing at the French Embassy for the camp, which help the team prepare for their AFCON 2019 Qualifiers against South Africa.

The team will also move from their camp on the 26th of May to take on the small island of Corsica in a friendly game, all in preparation for the South Africa game.

MFM Spokesman – Odey Is Too Good For Midtjylland, Reveals Interest From Club Brugge

The spokesman of Nigeria Professional Football (NPFL) side MFM says Danish side FC Midtjylland will struggle to meet the asking price of striker Stephen Odey.

Odey trained with the Danish team ‎and even played a reserve league game for their reserve side, but Olawale Quadry believes they will struggle to meet the valuation of the forward.

” No doubt Midtjylland are a very good side, good for the development of youngsters, but the problem is can they afford his transfer fee?, especially with interest from other teams”, Quadry told Owngoalnigeria.com.

” He is 19, meaning there’s still room for improvement. His age and goal tally of 14 so far has lead to offers from all over Europe. Even some teams in Belgium like Club Brugge, for now Midtjylland are not an option.

” Odey has be‎en told to stay behind and finish the season with us, he will join the Super Eagles in their camp in France after then we will weigh up his options in the summer”.

Red Hot Everton Target Onyekuru Too Expensive For Borussia Monchengladbach – Eupen

Eupen hot in demand forward Henry Onyekuru who is a target for several teams in Europe, following his goal scoring exploits in what his is debut season in Belgium might be too expensive for Borrusia Monchengladbach.

A club source confirmed to Owngoalnigeria.com, that the Bundesliga side scouted the forward before sounding out the club over a potential deal for the 17 year old, who has 18 goals in all competitions this season for Eupen.

However they were put off by the asking price tag of the Aspire Academy graduate, with Eupen demanding a package close to €15m, a figure that includes add ons based on success and future transfer.

Onyekuru’s valuation put off the Germans, leaving a host of English teams lead by Everton as front runners for his signature in the summer, with Onyekuru also admitting he prefers a move to England.

Already the forward has met with Everton and Southampton with Liverpool the other English team linked with him yet to contact him officially despite their reported interest in him.

Things Get Better For Rohr As Ex-Watford Star Ighalo Starts Full Training Without Issues

Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that former Watford striker Odion Ighalo is back in contention to be called up for the Super Eagles African Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa.

The Changchun Yatai marque signing had been on the sidelines for about two weeks after sustaining an ankle injury against Shanghai Shenhua in a Chinese Super League match.

But the good news for manager Gernot Rohr and the Super Eagles faithful is that Ighalo started running two days ago and without any discomfort.

The 27-year-old seems to be physically fine as he also participated in full training with his teammates at Changchun Yatai on Wednesday.

Ighalo opened his account for the 2017 season with a brace against Shanghai Shenhua on April 15.

FC Midtjylland Reveal Stephen Odey Will Go Straight Into First-Team Despite His Young Age

Danish Superliga side FC Midtjylland have revealed that their Nigerian trialist Stephen Odey will go straight into their first team if he is offered a contract in the summer transfer window.

FCM have great experience of integrating and developing Nigerians in the club and it is because of their good reputation in Nigeria that they have had the chance to invite the Mountain of Fire hitman for tests.

''It's an exciting opportunity and we have to see what it ends with,'' said FCM sports director Claus Steinlein to bold.dk.

''In relation to his age, he is a player we are looking for to be able to go directly into the team and compete for a spot."

The 19-year-old Odey will be observed again next Monday when FCM reserve team face off against Silkeborg.

Dream Team VI striker Paul Onuachu and winger Rilwan Hassan currently represented the first team of the Wolves.

MFM Issue 24-Hour Ultimatum: Midtjylland Will Be Reported To Fifa For Tapping Up Odey If....

Mountain of Fire FC have threatened to report FC Midtjylland to Fifa if their striker Stephen Odey does not return to Nigeria before Friday.

The Nigeria Professional Football League outfit have claimed that Odey traveled to Denmark without their permission and they must be contacted before the Danish club can let the attacker train and play reserve matches.

''We expect Odey to be back in Nigeria before Friday, or we will report FC Midtjylland to FIFA,'' MFM Media Officer Olawale Quadry told tipsbladet.dk.

''Odey himself traveled to Midtjylland to look at the conditions, but as we understand it, they would see him (in training, ed.). We have not allowed this and now they are trying to cheat MFM FC.''

MFM media officer revealed that the club has not been in contact with FC Midtjylland and does not intend to come into contact with the Danish club but that the threat of a report to FIFA is real and that Odey must be back in Nigeria before Friday, otherwise the Danish club will be reported.
