The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Thursday said it has not reversed the import ban on 41 items that it declared ineligible to receive foreign exchange from the apex bank.

The CBN’s clarification followed some news reports Thursday, which erroneously reported the lifting of the ban, citing a CBN document.

Honestly this country is a joke. We don't even know what to believe again. Yesterday the ban was lifted, today, the ban is still being enforced.

Pls stop disgracing us. Other countries are watching.

Na so. .

Nigeria should try to utilise its resources judiciously and stop importing what we have.

I knew it's not possible as the fundamentals haven't changed yet. Just over $31b of foreign Reserve is not enough to open up to all importations. Secondly, these items such as toothpick should forever be discouraged from being imported if we really mean business as a productive economy wannabe.

I know some people will say the govt is confused and likes policy somersaults. No, your illiterate brain is confused for not knowing that the govt is not the owner of a blog who carries fake or uncertain news.

So far you will not require more than $20000 a quarter to import the items under importation ban...then you can receive Forex for them.... just that you will have to fill form Q.

hmmm.... this will truly support SME.....Those making Nylon of Sachet water can access Forex for importation of raw materials needed.... Maybe this will force down the price of Sachet water back to #5.
Just thinking....

Two things are involved. Either they
1) Have received enough backlash and can't take it anymore
Or
2) The media just wants to cause another wahala with the fake news they dish out on a daily.

Shame!!! Its only a re.tar.ded !Diot that will still believe in this disgusting contraption aka ZOO. The whole wide world, including the rest of Africa have left us behind in development yet we continue reveling in our st.upidity! Nigerians must indeed be a rare breed of subhumans! How can we be comfortable in the midst of such confusion & madness if we are indeed normal human beings?? Where do I start, is it fulani herdsman commiting mass murders, rapes & destruction while everyone goes about there business like its nothing! Is it boko haram, is it having a president that is totally incapacitated yet refused to resign? Is it the fact that we have entered 2nd quarter of the year yet the budget hasnt been passed? Is it the fact that we elect illiterates and fanatical bigots to rule a plural country? The masses are in anguish and hunger pervades the land yet they will rather endure it or even die in it than question the status quo?? What a useless country Lugard lumped us together. Spits on the ZOO!!!
