When it comes to religion people tend to blow things out of proportion.
Let's simplify this, Christianity is a way of life. You can't be with someone who does not agree with your way of life and vice-versa. The only solution is if one of you changes; Since I'm a Christian, I would advise that you make the change if you really love her. She'd make an awesome companion as she has already proved to you that she would be faithful by rejecting you for your beliefs despite feelings and other things she has towards you. @ OP, it's her loss. Based on personal experience, I can bet that at least 70% of Nigerian atheists/agnostics are model citizens, and less than 1% of religious people are model citizens. I believe the odds of finding a religious person with truly excellent character way too slim. The religious hypocrites abound all around. Below are some shameful behaviours you can easily find among religious people:

1. Gross abuse of office, extortion, embezzlement and/or misappropriation of funds
2. Electricity/energy theft
3. Advance fee fraud
4. Betrayal of trust in their marriages, relationships and friendships
5. Willful disobedience to traffic laws
6. Refusal to renew car papers
7. Use of pirated software
8. Violation of copyright laws.
9. Physical and emotional abuses on their wives/ girlfriends

And the list continues....

Maybe an underlying reason behind these observations is that religious people tend to not achieve the level of intelligence required to understand and appreciate the long term negative implications on society, of the above listed wrong behaviours.

I admit that the sample space available from my experiences is too small to make a general conclusion. But when I compare general behaviours in our society to those of more irreligious societies, I am more and more convinced that religion is a problem.

Japhet04,don't worry you'll definitely get a girl(atheist or not) who loves you,always challenge the idea that you're somehow "unlovable" because of your non-belief...I challenged my gf then and you can do too(if you choose to reveal yourself to a theist partner next time),the saying "only a fool says there is no god" that they usually throw she threw it and i challenged her on that to get her bible and read the continuation to that and she was surprised...shocker! I'm not evil and don't have evil intentions,so i told her that the bible is not just what groups of people spoke as gods word' but also has the opinions of the men who wrote each chapter...why'd you think god would tell someone to hate menstruating women,women prophets,foreskins,working on sabath,etc...it's the same as what we have today,denominations or churches that give exclusive opinions on what they think god wants them to do.
