Nigerian Midfielder Mikel To Marry Girlfriend A Week After AFCON Qualifier Vs South Africa
Published: May 17, 2017

According to information gathered by allnigeriasoccer.com, Nigerian midfielder Mikel Agu is set to marry his long-term girlfriend on June 17, a week after the Super Eagles face South Africa in an African Cup of Nations qualifier.

The Porto loanee will tie the knot in a ceremony in Asaba and has invited several Super Eagles stars to grace the occasion.

Mikel and his partner welcomed a baby boy, Stefano, in January; he has been dating her for more than two years, and she lived with him in Belgium during his loan spell with Club Brugge.

It is understood that the midfielder's father and mother are presently in Portugal to herald the birth of their grandson.

Things are getting better and better for Mikel. He recently extended his contract with Porto until 2021 and has been invited to the Super Eagles for the first time in his career.

Arsenal Winger Iwobi Reveals The Key Area Of His Game He Has To Improve

Arsenal winger Alex Iwobi has acknowledged that he has to add goals to his game and hopes to force his way back into the team.

The Nigeria international had been snubbed for the last eight matches in the Premier League before manager Wenger gave him a run out in Tuesday night's 2-0 win versus Sunderland, but he could not add to add to his goal tally in the 21 minutes he spent on the pitch.

“I need to work hard, create more goals and score more goals,” Iwobi told arsenal.com.

“I’ve been trying to do that in training and hopefully get back in the team. So I’ve just been patient.

“The main thing is we’re getting the three points, we’re winning games, so as long as the team is winning, that’s my main concern.”

The Hale End Academy product has scored 6 goals in 58 appearances for the first team since he made his debut against Sheffield Wednesday in October 2015.

Exclusive: West Ham Reignite Interest In Watford Starlet Isaac Success, Switches Agents

Isaac Success could depart Watford in the summer transfer window, with West Ham set to reignite their interest in the striker after missing out on his signature in 2016,
allnigeriasoccer.com understands.

Watford parted company with their Italian manager Walter Mazzarri on Wednesday, and the Nigeria international is due to hold clear-the-air talks with Hornets chief when a new coach is announced.

Mazzarri went back on his word after capturing the Nigerian, he promised him regular playing opportunities which never happened.

The former Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles sensation needs assurances that he will be part of the first team next season or loan him out to a club where he can fulfill his potential.

If there's no positive feedback from the Vic, Success's priority is to join West Ham ,who attempted to sign him before his big money move to the Premier League.

Ahead of a potential departure from Watford, the number ten has signed a representation contract with Odion Ighalo's intermediary, who holds close links to English and Scottish clubs.

Arsenal Interested In Signing Prolific Nigerian Striker From Chelsea

Arsenal have joined the race to sign the prolific Nigerian striker Tammy Abraham in the summer transfer market.

The electronic edition of The Sun says the England U21 international is prepared to quit Chelsea if manager Antonio Conte does not assure him of first team opportunities next season.

Abraham flourished while on loan at Bristol City, netting 26 goals in all competitions and ended the season as the second highest scorer in England's second tier.

Arsenal are looking to sign a young striker in the summer and Wenger has identified Abraham as his top target.

Leicester City, Everton and Brighton & Hove Albion are also admirers of one of the hottest young prospects in English football.

I haven't watched Uche Agbo enough to know if I would rate him over Onazi tho.

All in all, based on current form, Ndidi is a shoo-in and Onazi and co should be fighting for the remaining spot. However, I would expect Rhor to stick with Onazi especially in the absence of Mikel since Onazi is the vice captain.

"I actually signed documents to play for Ismaily on Sunday. But what I heard was that Enyimba delayed in the signing of the documents which made Ismaily to sign other players and they have filled the three foreign slots for this transfer window," Mfon told AfricanFootball.com

The former Akwa United striker, who is in Uyo currently, said he is disappointed Enyimba delayed signing the agreement.

"I am not happy what Enyimba did on this deal. I don't know why they delayed the document signing when they had it with them,” he said.

“Enyimba are yet to tell me anything about the deal, I am waiting to hear from them if there still a way out of it or not.

“It is not right, they just kept mute, telling me nothing."

Must have mixed up my instances but this doesn't mean that Enyimba was trying to hold him back. This a club that has stood by the young man through everything. The season after his record Mfon fell seriously sick and was out of football. The next one he could never get up to speed in the league even though he was the CCL top scorer. They stuck by him when other clubs might have released him. Mfon is now captain of the club and a much more complete player.

Like I had said over and over again, only Arsene Wenger can explain why he had decided to sentence I wobi to the bench. I have watched ALL Arsenal's game this year and I can tell you that Alex has always given a good account of himself each time he's called upon to play. Unlike many of the players in Arsenal, Alex is one of the few who always gives you a 100%

Mustafi – The Introduction Of Iwobi Sparked Arsenal To Win Over Sunderland

Arsenal German defender Shkodran Mustafi has hailed the contribution of Arsenal Nigerian forward Alex Iwobi in their 3-0 win over Sunderland in the English Premier League.

Iwobi was introduced in the 69th minutes, and according to Mustafi he brought about urgency in the play of Sunderland which unsettled their defence for Alexis Sanchez who got both goals for Arsenal to strike.

” Some of us have obviously played lot of games and it was telling as the game progressed. Iwobi’s introduction helped us move the ball quicker and you can tell it helped us in getting the goal”, Mustafi said.

“It wasn’t easy, even though Sunderland knew they were already going down but you have to play those games. It isn’t easy when you play every three days, you get tired as well. We had a lot of opportunities and we made it a bit harder than it was, but we got the important three points [in the end].”

Chidozie Awaziem On Target As Porto Thrash Sunderland To Win PL Int'l Cup

Super Eagles invitee Chidozie Awaziem found the net as Porto thrashed Sunderland 5-0 in the final of the Premier League International Cup on Wednesday night at the Stadium of Light.

Josh Maja, who was handed a late call-up to the national team's training camp in March, and Sweden U21 international of Nigerian heritage Joel Asoro started for the Black Cats, while ex-Flying Eagles sensation Musa Yahaya was a non-playing substitute for Porto.

The visitors had put the game to bed at the end of the first half as they were leading 3-0, courtesy of brace from Galeano and an additional tally from Pereira on the strike of half-time.

On 55 minutes, Awaziem added more gloss to the scoreline when he peeled away at the far post to place a header beyond Max Stryjek.

Josh Maja came very close to a goal in the 65th minute but his effort went narrowly wide, and Asoro was almost credited with an assist a minute later, only for Luke Molyneux to volley just over the bar.

Shakespeare Hints Musa , Other Leicester Player Not Leaving This Summer

Leicester City boss, Craig Shakespeare, has revealed that no player has approached the club over a possible move away from the club this summer reports, Completesportsnigeria.com.

Ahmed Musa has been a bit part player for the club since the exit of Claudio Ranieri and has since been linked with a summer move away from The Foxes.

Musa has made 20 appearances (seven starts and 13 substitute appearances), and has scored two Premier League goals this term for The Foxes.

In his Wednesday's pre-match press conference, Shakespeare said: "No player has expressed any desire to leave this football club, to me or the owners.

"We just want the 3 points and the prize money will look after itself. The highest we can finish is 8th, so let’s try that.

"Until the club have sat down with Marcin (Wasilewski) it would be unfair for me to say anything on his future."

Leicester City are 11th in the EPL log and will face Tottenham Hotspur in Thursday's penultimate game of the season at the King Power Stadium before battling AFC Bournemouth on Sunday.

West Ham Bound Onyekuru Strikes Again, Ties Olarewaju Kayode As Nigeria’s Top Scorer In Europe

Hot in demand Nigerian forward Henry Onyekuru scored his 23rd goal of the season in all competitions to fire Eupen to a 2-0 win over Royal Excel Mouscron.

19 year old Onyekuru struck in the 72nd minute to wrap up a comprehensive victory for his team in the Belgium Europa League play-offs. The third game in a row he is finding the back of the net.

The goal also ties him with Olarewaju Kayode of Austria Wien as Nigeria’s top scoring player in Europe who also has 23 goals for his Austrian side.

However while Kayode has been rewarded with a call up to the senior Nigeria national team, Onyekuru is yet to be considered for selection by the Franco-German coach of the Nigerian team Gernot Rohr.

As exclusively reported by this portal few hours ago, he will sign the dotted lines for English Premier League side West Ham, if talks progressed as expected regarding his personal terms after a fee was agreed for his transfer in the summer.
