Mickael2:Sir, don't be too quick to make your conclusion on his chances with the Eagles. Henry is good. No doubt about that. Saying that with his present form he will easily displace some players in SE's starting line up is way too far and too early. Let's wait and see him play first in the green white green. Remember some players Club form/success does not often translate to national team. We 've seen amazing so many players with fine forms who can't cut it in their respective national teams. 1 Like |

Nope. But, actually, I was talking about in the beginning - before Jesus joined City....when Pep kept playing everybody (Navas, Nolito, Sterling, etc.) except Nacho. O pari Mickael2: |

safarigirl: My point is Osimhen is the gifted type of player. Every coaches' dream. A sharp striker who can lay deep passes from the midfield like a No.10. Do you wonder why he walked straight into Siasia's team right from U17? Or you wonder why Wolve's coach rushed him into the starting line up just fresh from injury? Why does Rohr keep insisting on him? The coaches simply see a technical gem on the training grounds. He is untested but he is much more of a gem than Onyekuru. The modern game prefers highly technical guys to those who can sprint all day with with no end result..... because in big and tough games, precision (of passes, shots, crosses, tackles etc) and technicality is what would matter most on the pitch. Conclusion: I see what Rohr and other coaches see in Osimhen and I stand with Rohr's decision to include him in the team ahead of Onyekuru whether tested or not. We have many Onyekurus already (musa, simon etc.......they all play with their head down and final passes lets them down 7 out of 10 times). But we rarely produce an Osimhen. 2 Likes |

AllforJesus7:we don't have many Onyekurus, while their playing pattern may be similar, the results are different. That is what sets him apart from Moses S and Musa. Moses S and Musa will score 4 out of 12 times. Omyekuru will score 8 out of 12 times. Same method, different results 5 Likes |

AllforJesus7: First of all, Onyekuru has been called up. Second, if you are comparing Onyekuru with Musa or Simon, then you have not watched him. Musa and Simon are your typical wingers, Onyekuru is not a winger. He has better close control and is a better dribble than both players. He has 23 goals in his first season in the top flight, Osimhen is simply just good potential now. You can not ignore his goal return. For several of his goals, he basically dribbled 3 or more players to score. I am sorry that shows a lot of quality. He is by no means perfect but neither is Osimhen. Onyekuru will start ahead of Osimhen for now in the Eagles side. 8 Likes |

AIG07: well he hasn't played for the Eagles yet so how come you've dismissed his chances? Judging purely on present form he is playing better than Nacho assuming we want to play him as our CF, and he is definetly doing better than Iwobi if we want to play him there. If he comes and he disappoints then we will see and judge, simple 1 Like 1 Share |

Mickael2:I am not saying Henry will be a disappointment like wise not dismissing his chances but we need to be cautious and lower our expectations on the lad... Rohr already has a winning team. Which I don't think he'll be altering anytime soon unless a player justifies a need for him to in the starting eleven. You don't expect the coach to say Iwobi, Nacho you've been warming your clubs bench recently so therefore Henry the 23goals hero is around you need to fasten your seat belt and give way for the new guy... The national team is not run that way. Henry will have to be tried and tested before been handed a starting birth. Don't forget Henry is still a rookie when it comes to International Football. 2 Likes |

The biggest news today is Onyekuru's invite..... I am not surprised at all.... after all, it was just yesterday I said an official Welcome To The Super Eagles, Henry Chukwuemeka Onyekuru..... loooollll Abeg Yara Yara..... tell Rohr Henry will manage the no.22 shirt or maybe no.9 (since Kayode will miss the corsica game) for now.... since Nacho may stick to 14 and Ndidi wears 21. |

Osimhen is gifted.... yes.... Onyekuru is gifted.... yes.... But these two are not in competition for places in the team. Osimhen is being groomed for the no.9 role.... Onyekuru is a wing forward. Osimhen is a lad with huge potentials and is just starting out. He just recently turned 18 for goodness sake. Give the lad a break. Onyekuru is 19 going on 20 and deserves his call-up as Nigeria's hottest uncapped Prospect in Europe and on the planet. And who says Osimhen is more gifted?? Why compare the skill-sets of a no.9 and a wing forward.... na wa for some people oooo.... Abeg... we need both in the Super Eagles camp. They aren't even in competition with each other... Onyekuru's competition is Victor Moses, Alex Iwobi, Simon Moses and Ahmed Musa.... Hopefully Samuel Kalu grows on and come make it hotter sef.... Osimhen is a 9 with top technical qualities and Rohr has assessed this lad and seen that he is very very very good.. so that alone justifies to some extent his inclusion.... And Osimhen just made his bundesliga debut few months after he clocked 18 and if not for injuries, the debut would have come much sooner. Rohr is not stupid. He has a good eye on the future too. So plsss drop the Onyekuru/Osimhen debate. |

It marvels me the way some forumites talk down on a players achievement saying onyekuru play against a "water defence", whatever that means. They forget s. Moses play against same defence, Ekong is not seeing game time with such defence. Some say OSimhien is gifted while onyekuru is not, the just run without no end product(23goals). Some people need to fear god 2 Likes |

Onyekuru Reacts To Super Eagles Call Up, West Ham And Top Scorer Ambition Hot in demand Nigerian forward Henry Onyekuru has been invited to the senior national team of Nigeria ahead of their friendly game against Corsica. As exclusively reported by this portal, talks over his invitation old confirmed he has been contacted by the coach to report to the camp of the team, where they will play a game against Corsica Island on the 26th of May. He is expected to travel with the team to Nigeria for their AFCON 2019 Qualifiers against South Africa on the 10th of June in Uyo as reported by this portal over the weekend. Onyekuru has 23 goals for Eupen, and his form has led to interest in his service from top clubs in Europe, with West Ham ahead of the likes of Everton after agreeing a fee for his transfer with Eupen. ” I’m elated, over the moon, it has been my dream to play for the Nigeria national team, I was never lucky with the junior teams, to have a chance with the senior team is something extraordinary “, he told Owngoalnigeria.com. On the issue of West Ham agreeing a deal with Eupen for his transfer in the summer, Onyekuru re- echoed the words of his agent by confirming he will move to England, but didn’t give out the name of the club. ” I will be very honest with you, my dream is to play in England, and this is a chance for me to actualise it, for now I can confirm to you talks are underway for me to achieve my dreams”. **Ade Emmanuel Source: http://owngoalnigeria.com/2017/05/18/onyekuru-reacts-to-super-eagles-call-up-west-ham-and-top-scorer-ambition/ 3 Likes 1 Share |

AIG07: me I don't understand some people here. judging by your assumption Gomez should still be a starter for Germany because he was there when they won the world cup. Rohr already has a winning team? what have we won? you guys don't seem to understand the meaning of a winning team, we have won just three matches and when we forced a tough opposition against Senegal we didn't win, we don't have a winning team yet,we are still trying to build one. If someone is not performing for his club then he will not perform for his country that's simple logic and it is usually correct, Genk that will probably not win the Belgian league thrashed Tottenham but hey you want to assume that Henry has been playing against amateurs in the Belgian league. Ndidi came into the national team and started performing instantly, I guess people like you will still want onazi to start ahead of Ndidi 1 Like |

tbaba1234: I didn't really watch the match but that's for arsenal, I am talking about the eagles. we need to map out our formation properly, sometimes in between games Iwobi gets confused, he doesn't know if he is still playing as a midfielder or as a wing forward and that's when people start to assume that he has faded, he just doesn't understand the instructions. honestly I myself do.not even understand his position, he should be a LMF, in that case Henry cannot replace him but during our games he is always too close to the opponents box as a wing forward which is why we all assume that Henry can go there and he will enter the middle full time. I think the coach needs to sort that out, this opinion might not be popular here but I agree with that dude that said that Rohr isn't more tactical than our local coaches, just a better man manager |

When I was singing Hallelujah after his first goal.... some were too quick to say, "not impressed".... see now... three goals in three games.... Awo got his mojo back. I know what that first goal can do to a player's confidence. Now we may have another huge striker prospect to look forward to in the Eagles if he keeps this up and continues his fine growth and sudden explosion. Awo is back! tbaba1234: 1 Like |

Arsenal Loanee Nwakali On Target Again, Keeps Promotion Hopes Of Dutch Team Alive On loan Arsenal midfielder Kelechi Nwakali helped his MVV Maastricht keep up their ambition of qualifying for the top division in Holland by scoring their only goal in the 1-1 draw against Cambuur. MVV Maastricht are in the Dutch League playoffs where they are eyeing a spot in the top division, and Nwakali got them going as early as the 8th minute of play when he struck the opener. However his goal was cancelled out in the 17th minute to leave their hope of progressing to the next knock out stage slim ahead of the return leg away to Cambuur next week. While MVV Maastricht have experienced contrasting fortunes in the league, the form of Nwakali has been very impressive considering the 18 year old is in his first season as a professional footballer. He has some very poor games but in the games where he has played to his potentials he has thrice picked up man of the match awards for his display for the promotion chasing Dutch team. **Michael James Source: http://owngoalnigeria.com/2017/05/18/arsenal-loanee-nwakali-on-target-again-keeps-promotion-hopes-of-dutch-team-alive/ 1 Like |

I love the recognition onyekuru is getting now, he is showing the evolution of football which doesn't depends on strikers alone to have appetite for goals, onyekuru has an enormous appetite and he is a number 7, guess who else got appetite even though he is not a striker, yes u r right CR7 d legend. if henry keeps up this pace he may well be called Cr7 of Africa. |
