The sales receipt will be enough. Do well to also mention it in a letter of explanation.

What i mean is that any large sum deposit in the account must either show that your sponsor makes such amount at an average or he/she got it from a transaction or business that is tied to the individual. Proof of the source MUST be established.

eg is the case of the sold property.

Well informed.... Thanks @Austinepee4

I earlier posted this; please avail me with the information if you have, thank you.

Hi guys,

1) How long does it take for school to receive payment of fees? From date of payment at the bank. And what is the CBN exchange rate for payment

2) All letters should be addressed to the Visa Offer or Embassy? Can someone please provide the correct address.

3) will it be out of place to make SOP look formal. I mean, putting up the receipients (VO) address and ending it with Yours faithfuly.

The rate of refusal for 'PURPOSE OF VISIT ' is becoming alarming! Program consistency, masters admission, PHD admission, consistent work experience is seemingly not just sufficient again. Everybody is now susceptible to this reason of refusal! I have seen in a couple of days refusals that have left me speechless!

I'm thinking our overal plan and reason for going for the program MUST just be beyond convincing. We must begin to pay enough attention to our applications and emphasis the need to pursue further study while also stating objectively what we stand to get with it. This interest of further study show be in such a way that it was a planned step. From undergraduate study through to current activity coupled with our achievements prior to applying should show significant progression. This way, our intent will appear more delibrate than situational. The current country situation is not helping matters and the scrutiny of visa(all categories) applicants is becoming outrageous. So any move will be subjective.

I guess CIC now pay attention to intent rather that consistencies of some sort. I'll advise that we do more work in making sure our intent both with our intended program and after study is overwhelmingly outlined and evidenced through showing recent achievements, short term goals as well as the longer term ones reflecting that a higher degree would further add to them.

Like i mentioned in one of my posts recently, admission is purely meeting academic requirements while the study visa is all in one. It goes beyond having acceptance or funding from a school. The Why, if, when, and how must all add up because God's mercy and grace is always available to us when you do our part. It's like a principle we must follow in one way or the other.

It's well!

Nice one. This is what I have been singing for a long time now. Bona fide intention to study is the key. Most Nigerian applicants are situational applicants as you've rightly said. These VOs can see through our applications and often time they lift the veil and cloak of program consistency which has often time in the past made so many applicants invisible to the almighty hammer of purpose of visit, however recent developments have shown that these VOs are beginning to look further to ensure that notwithstanding the program consistency, the applicant still demonstrates genuine intentions to study. Hence factors such as age, study gap, employment situations, connection or investment in Nigeria either materially or otherwise, establishment in the area of proposed program, establishment and ties to Nigeria and academic progression will certainly come into play. It is better we make our future plans clear as possible with sufficient evidence to back it up. Any confusion as to our future career plans/trajectory will most likely be resolved against the applicant.

1.This will be dependent on the school. If a third party bank is involved in the transaction between you and the school, it could take 3-7 business days. If it's directly to the school's account, 48hrs to 5 business day from date of debit. Form A transaction rate is still pegged at 360 naira to a dollar.

2. There is no particular correct address. Addresing it to the visa officer, high commision of canada, accra, ghana or lagos nigeria are all correct. (you can still google the actual address if it's really important to you)

3. You can choose to make it informal or formal. Non has any advantage over the other. The overal message it carries is what officers will be interested in.

Bros I too dey feel you.

Gone are those days when purpose of visit is only meant for PGD/PGC. Now, Masters and PHD applicants get it free of charge. I could remember before this year it was not so. Even this same last year some Masters/PHD applicants got TRV without SOP. For few weeks now, I have heard of several masters applicant get delayed for purpose of visit alone.

My people, SOP is now key to getting TRV. We must now be more convincing in our short and long term plans. One of my suggestion to a friend is to get registered towards certifications related to his field. This suggestion was after I was shocked for his delay and didn't have other thing to say. Its DAT bad my people. We can as well have plan B (in case) cos these people are not predictable anymore.

All the best

In my own opinion, it's better you point it out to them instead of the VO finding out. Considering the time frame of your application, withdrawing your application at this time is not advisable.

Lolzz... This trend of I forgot,I mistakenly is a capital lie .I will only accept the reverse of my statement if only the applicant did not handle the re-application and that whoever handled it, may have failed to ask if he/she had been refused visa while preparing the application. This emerging act is mostly perpetuated by GUYS which I now portray as a purported act by Nigerians, having the mindset to try luck or a VO may be oblivious of such history of the refusal

Still to refresh mindsets,I like attending to study visa related questions which I have made my specialty on this forum than admission issues which I ll have to give kudos to @Thesoj,osemigho,yemdogg,folaroyal,cannyzionist,Austinpee,penin.. et al gurus

This is becoming scary o, but the only way we can show our intent is our program consistency and what we write in our SOP, so a VO can just choose not to believe whatever we write in our SOP? I think there's more to this that we don't know. It is well

The manner of writing SOPs which Nairalanders adopted recently is the cause of some refusals!!!!! you guys write SOPs as if it is '' a questionnaire''. if you want to answer a questionnaire, make use of the study permit questionnaire. SOP should further buttress points and in an organized format that addresses concern.

when you write your SOPs, always have your mind on it till you have written it to your satisfaction. when you sleep, think over it,when your are done, find someone intelligent in your field to review, when he/she is done reviewing, you may also pass it on to an English scholar to completely rid of errors if you think the person in you field or who is versatile have not done enough to your satisfaction. With this, you can be certain your SOP is completely certified to face any strict panel.

Please house, I submitted my application by hand in Lagos on the 4th of this month. I was sent a confirmation of receipt mail that same day. On 6th I was sent another mail including my tracking ID. But up till now, whenever I check the status of my application I keep seeing "NO RECORDS FOUND". I've tried calling the vfs helpline but it doesn't go thru. I had to chat with one of their representatives after waiting for almost an hour and all he could say was it could be network issues. Please has anyone experienced this? How do I go about it?

How will you then prepare a better application if you do not actually know what went wrong? Guess? The best you will do for yourself is to get ur GCMS file. 40 days is the maximum period by canadian law to supply the file to applicant. Most times, it comes out from the 3rd to the 4th week way before the 40th day. So apply for it now so it starts counting.
