The tallest building in Abidjan is 120 M. Even Lagos has taller, probabylt even you guys in Accra, unless there are others they have constructed recently. I checked on Wiki

Say by Nairobi standards, there are no skyscrapers in West Africa. grin

The benchmark for continent or country varies.

For America and Europe it is 150 m minimum height. It has never been 200 m. If you want to know the truth Google it.

For Africa it is 100 m for the minimum height of a skyscraper. grin
who said so. why should africa have a diffrent standard against america. general standard by wiki put skyscraper to 80meter

I am in Mombasa right now. Stop talking about things you don't know. From your previous post you simply googled about Mombasa and now you want to talk like you know Mombasa so well - meanwhile I started learning about the history of Mombasa before I even joined primary school. Don't talk about things you don't know a thing about. Ask me about Mombasa if you wish to learn.
And I guess they told you in primary school Mombasa was founded in 70AD like your comrade I was replying stated? Shehe Mvita founded Mombasa as it is known.Btw,I got books on African history.

1. Call them towers with over 100m height not skyscrapers. A skyscraper has over 200m in height and currently Africa has only two. One in Jo'burg and the other in Nairobi.

2. Nairobi has 8 complete 1 topped out with 9 under construction.

Complete

1. Britam Tower (200m)
2. UAP Tower (163m)
3. Times Tower (140m)
4. LéMac (126m)
5. Teleposta Tower (120m)
6. KICC (105m)
7. NSSF building/Social Security House (104m)
8. KCB Tower (100m)

Topped Out
1. Prism Tower (133m)

Under Construction
1. Hass Tower 1 (320m)
2. Hass Tower 2 (201m)
3. Avic Office Tower (183m)
4. Hazina Trade Center (180m)
5. Montave Tower 1 (160m)
6. Montave Tower 2 (160m)
7. One Africa Tower (150m)
8. Avic Hotel Tower (141m)
9. Upper Hill Chambers (104m)

Construction of CBK Pension Tower has also began and it's poised to be over 50m

Total Nairobi (Complete, T/O and U/C) = 18

Nairobi is uncatchable.

1, This article ranks skyscrapers on the African continent by height. Initially, only a small number of major financial and commercial centers boasted large skylines, such as Lagos, Johannesburg, Nairobi, Harare and Abidjan. However, since the 2000s, skyscrapers have been constructed in many other African cities, including Cairo, Maputo, Abuja, Kampala, Cape Town, Durban, Addis Ababa, Dar es Salaam, Luanda and Port Louis.

Since 1973, the tallest skyscraper in Africa has been Johannesburg's Carlton Centre, which stands 223 metres (732 ft) tall. However, several taller buildings are proposed.

This list ranks African buildings that stand at least 100 m (328 ft) tall, based on standard height measurements by CTBUH. This includes spires and architectural details, but does not include antenna masts and minarets. Buildings over 150 m (492 ft) tall are highlighted.

Suffry Suffry lie. grin

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_tallest_buildings_in_Africa

2, @bolded have been found wanting. LéMac Tower is 90m while KCB tower is 99m. grin
Snapshots confirmed I am correct. grin

3, As you can see from the snapshots, the blue color placed because confirmed they are still proposed projects. Bhuuuhahaha!

To settle the pussle. Accra ,lagos ,abuja and nairobi all has skyscrapers. Wikipedia source.skyscraper is a tall, continuously habitable building. There is no official definition or a precise cutoff height above which a building may clearly be classified as a skyscraper. However, as per usual practice in most cities, the definition is used empirically, depending on the relative impact of the shape of a building to a city's overall skyline. Thus, depending on the average height of the rest of the buildings and/ or structures in a city, even a building of 80 meters height (approximately 262 ft) may be considered a skyscraper provided that it clearly stands out above its surrounding built environment and significantly changes the overall skyline of thatparticular city. The word "skyscraper" originally was a nautical term referring to a tallmast or its main sail on a sailing ship. The term was first applied to buildings in the late 19th century as a result of public amazement at the tall buildings being built in Chicago and New York City. The traditional definition of a skyscraper began with the "first skyscraper", asteel-framed ten storey building. Chicago's now demolished ten storey steel-framed Home Insurance Building (1885) is generally accepted as the "first skyscraper". The word skyscraper often carries a connotation of prideand achievement. The skyscraper, in name and social function, is a modern expression of the age-old symbol of the world center or axis mundi: a pillar that connects earth to heaven and the four compass directions to one another.Source:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skyscrap

Nigeria has folded her arms very well and snoring. Not a threat to anyone. In Africa right now, the battle for heights will be between Nairobi, Luanda, Jorburg and maybe Algiers. I can guarantee you Nairobi will be hard to keep up pace with for any city. I know the city well and I also assess other African cities and there is not much of a chance any African city will be outdoing nairobi in that regard. They can wait untill 2050. cheesy

Unfortunately Kenya is still building taller than Nigeria. Your tallest under construction is 135m. We have 320m (almost 3 times yours) 201m, 183m, 180m, two 160m, 150m, 141m just to name a few.

Unfortunately, CTBU doesn't count 'PROPOSED' and UNDERCONSTRUCTION' structures. grin

The CTBUH insist that a building should only be added to the official tallest list when it is (i) topped out structurally and architecturally, (ii) fully clad, and (iii) open for business, or at least partially open. This became the CTBUH official definition of a building’s "completion".

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/CTBUH

Point of correction the tallest building underconstruction is Corporate Tower 2 - 200m - 210m

And Abuja World Trade Center Tower 38-45 floors, 158m. grin

There is another one but... grin

Naijjans, you know I prefer facts and figures. Am back with more truth on the reality of Kenya vs Naijj. As usual we lead.

Most chief executives of big African companies see Kenya as their favourite investment destination ahead of the continent’s economic giants, Nigeria and South Africa, a new PwC report shows.

The CEOs cite Kenya’s improving infrastructure, big pool of skilled workers and young population as their biggest attraction to the country.

South Africa is ranked second while the continent's biggest economy, Nigeria, comes third in the PwC survey.

Simon Mutinda, a partner at PwC Kenya who was involved in the survey, says CEOs who were interviewed view Kenyans as being highly adaptable to new goods and services due to their high exposure, making them potential customers for their products.

“The CEOs also said they picked Kenya because of the stability and predictability of its macro-economic variables. Other than short-term shocks, businesses can plan their operations,” Mr Mutinda said in an interview.

The PwC survey was conducted between September and November last year and is part of its global research which analyses responses from 1,379 CEOs.

I see you're avoiding my posts after I gave you all the facts. You Nigerian guys have a bad belief that you're the top in everything hence you never bother to look at the facts. We once did a list of cities with the highest towers over 20 floors in Africa on skyscrapercity and Lagos was nowhere. I can bet you Lagos will be lucky to be half of Nairobi in terms of high-rises too. Port Harcourt I doubt if there is a single high-rise in that city. Just like you're shocked with skyscrapers, towers over 100m so will you be with high-rises.

Avoid which facts? You have never presented me facts.
All you have been doing is making fallacious statements but I gave you facts. Everyone here can attest to it.

Highrise is from 12 floors above or 35m. grin

Don't misinform the public. grin

Port Harcourt has 40 highrise though 25 are still under construction. grin

Lagos has more skyscrapers completed than the whole of Kenya. grin
