David Moyes won the Charity Shield in his first competitive game with United. So lets not start counting that one as anything, otherwise give him his due credit!
LVG too managed to get the club back into the UCL football and won an FA cup, many of us thought it was progress, but the football wasn't very pleasing and in the UCL campaign, it was a very rude awakening!

Yes, if JM wins the Europa and all the other aforementioned cups, good riddance and more feathers to cap of the club. But please let us not turn a blind eye to the obvious. This is one "piss poor" team!
Going by what I have personally seen so far, things don't look very promising. If the performances do not improve significantly, this team will get badly, badly exposed!
Exactly my point. We may get the title but our average performance is just so fvking annoying and below average. When we play against teams that prefer to defend we feel like we're one god but against teams that run at us there will be so many complaints. Many times we watch a match and for 90 minutes we cannot figure out the game plan or tactics Jose is using unless its the ultra defensive which is so obvious. Jose as a coach still needs to improve a lot. Yes he has won a lot of trophies but its way more competitive now. If he seriously hope to win the league he has to do better. There are four other teams seriously gunning for the same trophy. It may work in a cup competition but over 38 league matches never.

That said he still has time to improve his style but it will be amusing if any United fan is satisfied with our performance this season as a team with or without the trophy.

His transfer targets should tell if he means business next season too.

Which now proves that you are all copying this from one place. No inventiveness, nothing. Just brainless copy n paste. How has the point difference for the remaining teams bar Chelsea shown any progress? Even if United improved by 6, 7 points this season, would it have taken dem near the trophy or is champions league participation all your team boasts off?

LOWDOWN ON SUNDAY'S YOUNGSTERS

Jose Mourinho name-checked seven Manchester United Reserves in midweek, as he plans to use a shadow side in Sunday's Premier League finale against Crystal Palace at Old Trafford.

The boss revealed Paul Pogba will return but there will be a number of rookies in the team as he prioritises the Europa League final in Stockholm, when Ajax provide the opposition.

Here, we look at the players Jose initially tipped to be part of his squad for the weekend clash:

Zak Dearnley - 2016/17 Reserves apps/gls: 0(2)/0
A lively front-runner who has arguably been even more impressive in his fleeting Reserves outings than at Under-18 level. In addition to being a goal threat, he harries defenders and helped turn the final Premier League 2 game at Old Trafford against Tottenham. At 18, he's the youngest of the players mentioned.

Josh Harrop - 2016/17 Reserves apps/gls: 25/10
A creative midfielder who can operate centrally or on the left flank, and finished top scorer for Nicky Butt's team after reaching double figures. A superb hat-trick in front of Mourinho last Monday obviously promoted the 21-year-old's claims and a debut would be a dream come true for the boyhood Reds fan.

Scott McTominay - 2016/17 Reserves apps/gls: 22/3
Another midfielder who was asked to lead the line on occasion for the Reserves this term, and he scored twice at Old Trafford in the win over Southampton towards the start of the campaign. The 20-year-old made his first-team bow as a substitute in the recent defeat at Arsenal.

Demi Mitchell - 2016/17 Reserves apps/gls: 16(cool/6
Initially a winger or centre-forward, he has reverted to left-back with positive results and has still been contributing plenty of goals and assists. A member of England's Under-17 squad in 2014 that won the European Championship, the local lad has pace to burn and loves to get down the flank.

Joel Pereira - 2016/17 Reserves apps/gls: 4/0
A highly-rated goalkeeper who is rated by Mourinho as a future Portugal no.1. A loan stint with Belenenses showcased his potential and made people sit up to take notice, while his United debut came as a substitute in the Emirates FA Cup win over Wigan Athletic.

Axel Tuanzebe - 2016/17 Reserves apps/gls: 25/1
An outstanding defensive talent who is captain of Butt's team and the Denzil Haroun Player of the Year. A centre-back who has composure and quality, he has appeared in midfield and at right-back for the first team, shackling Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez in the first of three successive Premier League starts.

Matty Willock - 2016/17 Reserves apps/gls: 25(1)/2
He is a stamina-packed midfielder who covers a lot of ground and is one of the senior figures in the second-string side. Headed an injury-time winner at Anfield against Liverpool and also found the net at the Etihad Stadium derby with Manchester City in September. His two brothers, Joe and Chris, play for Arsenal.

@ least we don sign better person for our academy! His name has been bubbling around academy circles in europe and Spain for a while! 16 year old arnau pigmal! Highly rated spanish kid from espanyol! Central midfielder with a knack for thunderous goals now headed our way....lets hope he makes the grade! A sign of things to come perhaps?

Yup. Our midfield on the night had Bryan Robson, Ray Wilkins and a half-Nigerian called Remi Moses.

No. We narrowly lost in the semi-final to a loaded Juve squad......Scirea, Gentile, Tardelli, Platini, Paolo Rossi and Boniek. This was in the Cup Winners Cup but Juve would go on to win the European Cup the next season.

Looking at the top 4
Chelsea
Spurs
Man city
Liverpool
I hope Liverpool makes it to the UCL because among the top 4 they have the most average squad and didn't spend 89m for a player. cheesy

We got our best results in November, December and January playing this formation. Pay particular attention to the midfield three.

We beat Tottenham this period. Arsenal narrowly escaped defeat. We were thinking we could contest for the title again.

Fellaini returned to the team and became an authomatic starter. Perhaps part of the reason our going forward become slow. Although he contributes defensively, especially as he has to make up for the lack of height with Blind coming in for Rojo.

^^^

When you play Carrick as the DM with Herrera and Pogba in front, it is very likely that Herrera will help to be more forward thinking and help to play forward passes.

I think that is the very first position Mourinho will strengthen. In truth his teams are built on a solid middle and the options we had this year were just not up to standard at all and worse we had to rely on the most unskilled of the lot most times. He will be looking for a physical player with good passing skills. Just like the Carrick of old.
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 5:21pm On May 20, 2017
I will like Ashley Young to be available for final. We need more forward thinkers and runners. If we need someone to bring a change from the bench, we will need Young. I don't know what Rooney and Mata are doing these says. Even Martial and Mkhitaryan have joined them.

Against Chelsea we were without Rooney, Mata, Mkhitaryan and Martial. And we were running at them. That was the match Fellaini gave 140% of his ability. But most times he doesn't reach half of that performance.

Yes, we cant rely on Fellaini. We need a good DM, then give Herrera an advanced role.

United fans- Pogba and Hererra are better than the PFA player of the year and the FWA player of the year

United fans- Mourinho's teams have always been built on a solid midfield and the options he has aren't good enough

Logic-
