lomaxx:there is no special calculation for awaiting result... the modalities 4 admission depends on the school nt jamb.. for instance UI.. A1=6PTS B2=5pts B3=4pts C4=3pts c5=2pts c6=1pt... Summation of every divided by 30 then multiply by 50(to convert it to 50%) .... then jamb score divided by 8.... thats it sir. |

Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by Donpre(m): 5:09pm On May 23, 2017 |
Dr.lomaxx, good day. Forgive my asking, but what reason do you have for wanting your kid bro to go to UCH? |
Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by lomaxx: 5:52pm On May 23, 2017 |
Donpre: I think he deserves a different experience. He's schooled in Akwa Ibom all through his life. It would be fair that he should experience something different. That's just it. Also, I wouldn't want him to go to the same school I attended for obvious reasons. Finally, it's a long standing school and they have a strong alumnus. Connections and recommendations would be a strong suit. Left to me, I wouldn't want the lad to study medicine and definitely not in Nigeria. But it's what he wants, so I can't change that. The least I can do is to help him grow with ease. I assume your question is related to the post I made earlier. The most important thing is to be admitted to study medicine in an accredited school. I trained at University of Uyo Teaching Hospital and I don't think it has made me less of a doctor. My license to practice came from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, not my University. I'm a good doctor, even though I don't fancy clinical practice in Nigeria. My brother is one of the smartest young people I know. He is really good. He is someone who can say he wants to study in UI or ABU or OAU or Illorin and he would have the admission. This is his first and only UTME. There are not a lot of people like that. There's intense competition in those schools for the spots available and only the best sail through. Now, depending on one's ability, there's no positive advantage trying to study medicine in UI when one's credentials are not strong. The best thing is to find an accredited school that would give one an ease of entry. Every other thing else is just addendum. 6 Likes |

Finally, let me mention that the smartest people that get admission to study medicine usually don't become the smartest in medical school. 11 Likes |

Goodday everyone pls I scored 227 in utme. Though not actually my fault but the centre I wrote the exam, I believe I would have done more than this, but no need crying over a spilled milk as thinking outside the box and picking up sth when one had fallen may go a long way to help, pls Sirs, any hope of being admitted to Ansu, absu or anyother Eastern uni to bioch, mcb, mlt or any biomedical course with a view of switching over after I00 level to Mbbs. Anyone with opinions or ideas about colleges that interfaculty/departmental transfer are allowed subject to 100/200 level general performance should please make suggestions and indications. |
