English is at least 60% Latin derived , and at least 1/3 of vocabulary is derived from French, and French itself is mostly Latin derived. Yet its grammatical structure and syntax clearly makes it a Germanic language. So you see depending on how you see it English is pidgin French, Latin or German!!
