But you don't have to blame the cheap movie producers. I know a lot of talented people in my city warri who want to go into Nollywood or start something big, but they can't cos of lack of capital, and also given the fact that they do not reside in Lagos or Abuja, but funny enough they still do their thing in the little way they can. This is also the case with Asaba in Delta state(3 hours away from warri). Nollywood began this way too in the Nineties, humble beginnings with very low quality and little capital.

Yah you are very correct.

Buh just that it's a free country and a free market. These cheap producers still have their customers and it also serves as a source of employment for many. Nothing can be done to stop or regulate them from the markets.

I think with time they will die a natural death as there will be loads n loads of these 1st grade movies in the market. First grade movies are mostly watched in the cinemas and only original copies sold (which might be expensive) for lower income citizens, until after some years.

The only time you interact with the government will be in game parks(rangers). Otherwise it's private enterprise. There are many agencies that offer a some range of services ... like this girl here and her Akothee Safaris

In regards to his comment, it reminded me of something that happened before summer break. My English professor was gushing about how she wants to visit Kenya and Botswana to see all the animals. She was even naming them. I interjected her and said I would go to Kenya for the people and the country. She just looked at me disgusted and I left. A similar incident happened with a woman I briefly met. She spent quite some time studying lions in Botswana. She bodly admitted she tried to avoid the black Africans. I guess it doesn't matter becsuse Kenya's ans Botswana's economy is still growing from racist idiots like them, and as long as they pay they obviously have the right to do what they want. It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth, maybe it's the Nigerian arrogance/pride, but I can't accept a tourist treating my people with disdain. Kenya Tourism creates a lot of jobs. The hotels are of course private and pay taxes to the government but one has to pay directly to the government to access National Parks, Game Reserves and other tourist attractions.

Infact i find it very embarrassing and hilarious that these kind of movies are still being produced in Nigeria. These are the juju and witchcraft movies that made the whole world view Nigerians as diabolical people

Well, we started here, so no need to mock the the days and style of the beginning. Buh it's so unfortunate that many Africans still think nollywood is still stuck here.
I think i was even too hard on the 2nd grade movies, these are the perfect movies for illiterate and semi illiterate village girls, housewives, housegirls and market women.
Educated middle-class Nigerians living in cities hardly watch these kind of movies. I myself can't remember the last time i did.

Although, some of these movies can be very hilarious Even the title alone makes it amusing

I would in fact like to see that movie Spider Girl…
I am very curious to know what is all about. I was quite amused when I came accross this other movie on tv about Beyonce, Shakira and Rihanna...No, it had nothing to do with the reknowned popstars.

Anyway, u cannot find any serious Kenyan watching these types of movies, and that is not to say that we view all the Nigerian movies negatively like that.
There are a number of movies and tv programs frm Nigeria that I have seen, they were quite of good quality, the plot twist.....just good.

Like this very first Nigerian movie I saw when I was still a boy in 2002, called "The Irony of Fate". I still remember that movie, it was great. I became interested in Nigerian movies for a while, however, over the years, all the other subsequent movies I saw were of bad quality, nearly all of them featured sorcery in their storyline, and it was very becoming monotonous.

Tinsels is also quite good.

But honestly, catch me dead watching those movies.
