Odingo1:The North East Development commission was not to be, but the Senators of National Assembly !members from the south east, allowed the Bill to pass, which was bad and I was screaming fowl, but you can't solve a wrong with Two wrongs, If any such commission should be established it should be funded solely by revenue sourced from the region in question soley, that way If Bayelsa state or Zamfara wants to set up a commission who cares, but this indirect, means of establishig one commission or the other and getting to Niger Delta to pay for it indirectly, won't work. |

ogashman:A similar bill, the North East Development Commission, was squashed by the same House. I see no reason why there should be a fuss about this. The Special Bill status for Lagos suffered the same fate when it was brought up. The said lawmaker should have met a couple of other lawmakers before letting out the bill. A sound debate would have brought about a cogent reason as to why the bill should have flown, rather than scream gang up and marginalisation. 8 Likes |

ba7man: Did U even read the text? Nigeria's youth are finished. look at the lie one person just told from the beginning and U all are ignorantly echoing it! How do U know the south east fought the Lagos bill? "Ekweremadu then put the bill into voting which unsurprisingly was unanimously rejected by the senators." It was UNANIMOUS! Senator Adeyeye yeye-ed the bill by yabbing Abuja, before the vote was put up. EVERYBODY rejected it! |

Odingo1: Shameless hypocrite. Why would i hate you when you are the one trooping to my land, go read the thread of the Lagos bill, you and your kinsmen were rejoicing and insulting the Yorubas. Una never see anything, what do you need the bill for since you said your region is the most developed that you even develop other regions. You even said you dont need the federal government, so why the tears? Hypocrite 14 Likes |

deedeedee1:The North have North ecological fund,North East development commission,Niger delta have NNDC, the SW and SE can come up with their own development commission. The special status for lagos is good, but adding Kano and Anambra to it is the best and development will spread. Other countries have many big cities, Nigeria cant keep on having only one state of exit and import activities. 1 Like |

fulanmafia:My brother, which internal general revenue are you expecting from these states again, when there are less or no Federal investments there, no enabling business environment, no amenities and good roads to boost local industries production. As a result, these south Easterners concentrate the bulk of their business investment in Lagos and Abuja. That is to say that they partly contribute to the IGRs of those states. 1 Like 1 Share |

I have read every single comment on this thread and come to the conclusion that Nigeria can never live as a Nation. We're just wasting our time in this project called one Nigeria. From page 1 to 3 are different Nations fighting. Northerners sees Yorubas and Igbos together with other Southern minorities as those that doesn't deserve better treatment than themselves; Yorubas sees Northerners, Igbos and others as those who doesn't deserve better than themselves; Igbos feels they deserve better treatment than Northerners and Yorubas. But Igbos want to exist the one Nigeria project, while others are saying no. Hmmm! For how long are we going to continue deceiving ourselves in this country? 1 Like |

EmeritusMbaM:Nobody is against it,they are saying that two or three more state should be giving the special status in Nigeria. Why is it that you people want everything in Nigeria to revolve around lagos, does that make sense to you people, other countries are developing big cities in their country but in Nigeria it is only lagos. South Africa have 6 standard ports and 4 standard international airports that covers the entire country. Pretoria,Durban,Cape Town,Johannesburg, etc, why is it that you people dont want Nigeria to develop. |
Re: There’s A Gang-up To Kill South-east Commission Bill – Deputy Minority Leader by takenadoh: 9:46am On Jun 02, 2017 |
bakynes:they are there because of the way Nigeria was structured which is bad, the reason. they are in the country is because of the Niger Delta, for instance these companies have HQs in Houston not in New York or Washington, Same should be the case in Nigeria.... But we all know why things are the way they are. So you should thank the Niger Deltans for the High FIRS and Customs Non Oil revenue. Let's face facts apart from the oil companies, politicians .... Manufacturing and Agricultural is only a fraction of that amount. 1 Like |

SuperS1Panther: Thats just absolutely selfish coming from you! A comparison to the special status bill is absolutely unwarranted and needless considering the fact that the SE's marginalization! I really doubt you are yoruba and even if you are, you are probably one of those agents that's been recruited to cause constant online tensions between yorubas and Igbos. A group of northerners came around and screamed nay to a bill that'd have absolutely no effect to them and you come online to defend that decision with this petty excuse? Thats just low! And I am yoruba 1 Like |
