Honda Accord 2016 has the following problems as at today: 1. Fuel leaks from the fuel tank to the fuel pump connection 2. Lost crankshaft position sensor signal due to corrosion in the engine wire harness 3. Engine that will crank but never start due to a problem with the No. 5 meter 10amp fuse 4. Engine rattle at startup for 1 to 3 seconds from a problematic vtc actuator lock pin 5. Popping, squeaking, clunking and creaking noises from the vehicle front suspension 6. Thumping and flapping sounds from vehicle rear when fan at high speed mode and climate control system in recirculation mode 7. MIL blinking, engine intermittent rattling and rough running during light acceleration or a steady cruise of between 30 and 65 mph 8. PCM software error that causes a low pressure problem in the cvt sometimes resulting in a slipping cvt belt and rpm surges when driving at highway speeds turning on the MIL 9. A judder from the torque converter lock-up clutch may be felt while driving between 20 and 60mph. the problem is typically miSdiagnosed as a bad torque converter. When the true cause of the problem is ATF detoriation from intermittent high heat loads under certain driving conditions 10. A in-dash clock that resets or shows the wrong time likely due to a bad chip in the audio unit 11. Entering web browser text overwrites characters or voice recognition ends before you can speak due to mismatched radio information 12. Delamination issues within an i.c. produced by nxp and assembled into airbag sensor supplied by denso international america, inc. this delamination issue manifests itself as an open circuit within 13. Distorted/blurry rear window glass especially when viewed through the rearview mirror 14. Noticeable wind noise at ear level from either the driver's or the front passenger's window caused by a gap between the run channel and inner sash 15. Hello Auto, Good thing you are doing here, i appreciate this. My Problem.... I have a honda accord 2008 4cyl, *i have a cel steady on my dash, anytime i scan the car i get an evaporation issue can't really remember the code, i clear this at the local shop here in lokoja with their small scanner buh once i top my fuel the cel come up. *i don't know if this is a gearbox problem, but i have neva crossed 180km/hr on my ride, once my rpm goes past 3000rpm my car makes a loud noise like a plane about to take off and it stills does not gain speed, i also get rough shifts too where th rpm gets to 5000-6000 before my gear shifts. *when i hear this loud noise, i feel loss of pressure via the pedal, like even if i step flat on the pedal the noise just increases without much speed gain. *i use to get an error "check fuel cap" this shows sometimes and sometimes i just get a CEL on my dash. please help me out. thanks kniru 1 Like |

kniru: there are several evap codes. I need to know which one is responsible P0455, P0456, P0497, P1454 OR P2422 ETC Even when you clear the code, it will come back because the vehicle has a computer, the computer is consistently running integrity checks on the car, if any component fails, it will throw a code. Read more about drive cycles and trips here where I answered the question: What role do trips play in obd ii equipped vehicles? Why should you care about trips as defined by obd ii? https://www.nairaland.com/3661728/on-board-diagnostics-obd-ii-questions/3#54630269 Please don't erase the codes again, scan and copy all codes and paste here. What does your current mechanic say about it? Was it always that way? Did something happen before you started experiencing that? What grade of engine oil do you use? What of ATF? What is its condition? Have you ever changed your transmission oil? Was it drained and refilled or flushed? In other words, has your transmission ever been serviced? Does your transmission leak? If yes, did this loud sound come after that? Are you heavy on the pedal? If you accelerate very lightly, does this noise still occur around 3,000 RPM and do shifts occur at 5,000 - 6,000 RPM? Does the vehicle act like it is laboring to move? If the transmission is having issues, the vehicle on-board computer will sooner or later throw a code. Let me have the codes, and we will sort it out together. 1 Like |

Thanks Auto, What does your current mechanic say about it? that i should don't worry[b] Was it always that way? [b]since i got it yes[b] Did something happen before you started experiencing that?[b]no[b] What grade of engine oil do you use? [b]mobil 1 5w-30[b] What of ATF? [b]honda atf dw-1 bought from konga[b] What is its condition? Have you ever changed your transmission oil? [b]yes[b] Was it drained and refilled or flushed? [b]drained and refilled[b] In other words, has your transmission ever been serviced?[b]serviced by just draining the tranny fluid and refilling[b] Does your transmission leak? [b]no[b] If yes, did this loud sound come after that? Are you heavy on the pedal? [b]sometimes[b] If you accelerate very lightly, does this noise still occur around 3,000 RPM and do shifts occur at 5,000 - 6,000 RPM? [b]yes[b] Does the vehicle act like it is laboring to move? [b]yes basically the vehicle is sluggish, takes alot of time to gain speed...i know the car can move faster than this buh i just don't know where the problem is coming from, seems the pedal becomes slack anytime i hear loud noise.. https://www.nairaland.com/3661728/on-board-diagnostics-obd-ii-questions/3#54613469 Can you list the monitors one can expect to find on an obd ii equipped vehicle? In your case, a/components supervised by the Evaporative System Monitor is/are failing the system integrity test(s) conducted by the vehicle on-board computer, basically, it is running outside factory designed parameters |
Re: Dealership Level Diagnostics - Honda (1996 - 2018)- Electrical N Mechanical by AutoElectNG: 5:58am On Jun 03, 2017 |
The solution is not to clear the code because that does not deceive the ECU/PCM/ECM, but to find out why it fails the test and rectify the condition, and when the drive cycles for the evap test runs after rectifying the problem, the MIL will go off on its own. https://www.nairaland.com/3661728/on-board-diagnostics-obd-ii-questions/3#54617450 What is the difference between a continuous monitor and a non-continuous monitor? When are obd ii monitors activated? |

Next steps - Get the codes. We will take it from there! You might have a transmission problem, but further analysis will make it conclusive, until then, this is purely speculative. How long have you had this ride? Instead of just copying, you could take a snapshot of the codes when next you meet the guy! Until then, my hands are tied |

Re: Dealership Level Diagnostics - Honda (1996 - 2018)- Electrical N Mechanical by igbsam(m): 12:27pm On Jun 03, 2017 |
AutoElectNG: Its a 2003 Honda Accord and also a 2003 Honda Odyssey Engine. it does this hard start of a thing, gear jerks when it wants to change to 3, it revs whenever it likes and i can't even use an AC cos it would change the engine sound completely making it work at a high pace. Yes i am willing to change its engine to its original, have the wiring re-done cos kazeems have cut and join anyhow, Hw much should i be looking at here getting its own engine. Its a V6 2003 Accord. |

yomingr: With him you are in safe hands, that I can assure you. One more reason why I recommend him beyond the other reasons listed here https://www.nairaland.com/3661728/on-board-diagnostics-obd-ii-questions/13#56605365 is his wise decision to specialize. One cannot be a master of all the kinds of vehicles that we have, there is too much information to consume to stay on top of the game. Let me know how it goes. All the best 1 Like |

Got a 2013 Odyssey or 2013 Pilot 2WD or 2013 Pilot 4WD that has any or more of the following DTCs 1. P0301 THROUGH P0304 (Number 1 - 4 Cylinder Misfire Detected) 2. P3400 (Rocker Arm Oil Pressure Switch B) 3. P3497 (Rocker Arm Oil Pressure Switch C) What sort of engine oil do you use? Honda recommends Full Synthetic 0W-20! If you used 20W-50, the read up this https://www.nairaland.com/3842959/need-professional-advice-n-mechanic/2#57373510 and prepare for expensive and extensive surgery to replace the relief valve spring. Thicker oil is harder to pump, being harder to pump, since pressure is the resistance to flow, the oil pressure will rise beyond factory tolerances causing abnormal behavior. In the instant case, DTCs P3400 and P3497 are set because of the high oil pressure measured at the VCM spool valve. High oil pressure causes the VCM spool valves to activate, causing cylinders 1 through 4 to go into cylinder cut mode even though the ECU did not activate the VCM spool valve. Don't second guess the manufacturer, use the correct oil viscosity!
