Togo halt their losing run. Ivory Coast get trounced by an average Dutch team. |

I'm suprise that those defending Oshimen inclusion ask "who orji go bench" as if Oshimein fit bench anyone, I just feel hard work should be rewarded. Nacho prove himself in USA and city before he was invited to the SE not his U-17 record. 2 Likes |

zicky: Do you think Osimhen is invited on under 17 record or what Rohr has seen of him? Afterall, he invited Esiti once and has not invited him again. 1 Like |

tbaba1234:most people that defend his inclusion do so because of his u-17 exploit. After that achievement, he has not done anything to warrant his inclusion in SE. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by tbaba1234: 9:51pm On Jun 04, 2017 |
zicky: But Rohr has seen him up close enough to know what he is about.. Esiti has been playing well with Gent but has not being invited again. Do you not think the coach has an idea of what he is looking for in a player? 3 Likes |

Not long ago, we were told about why Odey should replace Iheanacho because of Iheanacho's lack of game time and Odey's goals. Osimhen has only been hampered by injury, his ability is not in doubt not by the coaches in Wolfsburg, not by Rohr.. 3 Likes |

maidaboi:injury free Joel Obi would've a top star by now bt ....we should not base our argument on sentiment, the guy has potentials bt that is not enough to invite him. |

komekn: Sir, In as much as I am not a fan of Osimhen, Your submission on his involvement in Wolfsburg make or mar relegation fight can tempt one to think he is one 25-year old striker. But hey......this guy is just 18 yrs and he was good enough to make the bench for that all-important clash. To me, that's enough. Not all African players at that young age are favoured in Europe that way. Let's allow Rohr plan his team. My main concern is convincing (and vital) wins and good football I'm not sure Osimhen will even make the match day squad against SA which means Rohr, (who I doubt will continue coaching SE after the 2018 WC) has future plans for the SE. 1 Like |

Clementoke: Enough to be selected over proven, tested and established players playing in better teams and better leagues. We know anything that diews not have clearly defined methodology and measurement for excellence and ability will be open to abuse particularly in Nigeria. My query is very simple create a level playing field for players to get selected on merit not subjective judgement. Are there better proven and established players yes there are. This boy is a youth player however if he has proven his quality at 17/18 in his parent club just like Mbappe and Gabriel have done there will be no debate. He is recovering from Injury has played barely 45 minutes of total football all season in lowly relegation facing club and is invited to SE camp. There is no basis beyond the coach likes him. It sends the wrong signal it clearly is not a level playing field. It is not the right imagery needed for the SE sends a negative signal. 1 Like |

zicky: Esiti is a very good player in my opinion but not Rohr's kind of player. Osimhen must be hitting the right notes in training. |

Kog45: You are free to have your opinion. I am pointing out mine. What I felt was most important for Nacho in his formative years was to learn the disciplined lifestyle, work ethic, healthy living and tactical discipline of players who work under Guardiola. The lessons gained from these is more important than regular playing time in a midtable team. If Nacho leaves now, I am satisfied. |

komekn: But he is not going to make match day squad na. We already have two good strikers in Iheanacho and Kayode in the team |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by komekn(m): 10:28pm On Jun 04, 2017 |
Clementoke: It doesn't matter. Invitation by merit not associated past glories or assumed potential to be groomed. He should be left alone to develop and prove himself worthy in his club first before the SE. What about the players proven, tested and established not even given a notice. 1 Like |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 10:28pm On Jun 04, 2017 |
komekn: Simple. Rohr, just like Amunike, Siasia, the past and current Wolfsburg Manager see a bright future in Osimhen. That was why Arsenal and Tottenham were also interested in getting him on their books. There is a huge potential there and Rohr sees it. This is beyond the playing time debate. We are talking of a kid recovering from a long term injury and a team like Wolfsburg rushed him back. Most of the players people are screaming should have been called ahead of him will not be rushed back into the team that way. 2 Likes |

komekn: There are players who fit seamlessly into the tactical and future plans of the coach. Osimhen has this intuition of knowing precisely what the coach wants. In his first screening with Amunike, Osimhen understood Amunike wanted the striker defending. If you watch the way Osimhen wraps his foot around the ball when shooting, you see the natural gift. This gift is what makes Rohr very interested in the guy. You might feel a regular player in championship with talent is enough to get the nod. However, that same player might not fit the coach's strategy. The signal Rohr is sending is that he knows what he wants and Osimhen reaching his full potential with the Super Eagles is a priority. As I said, this is beyond our understanding. This is the time we take notes. 2 Likes |

zicky:You have to understand that some players have a cult followership on this thread. At the mention of certain names, all manner of of objectivity fly out of the window. Osimhen is one of such players. I hope this supposed cult followership don't reduce the intelligent quotient of this thread. 3 Likes |

goldfish80: It is baffling that people take their time to break down their reasons for taking a particular side of a debate and you come up with such ridiculous and baseless statement as the above. None of us called for the inclusion of Osimhen to the best of my knowledge. What I am certain is that most of us know we have a gem in this young man. The actions by the team mangers at Wolfsburg, Amunike, Siasia and Rohr certifies our beliefs that he is quality. You can keep viewing analysis from the spectacle of playing time but the fact is that football is deeper than that. 3 Likes |

zicky: Osimhen signed officially during the winter break and was injured soon after. When would he have had his debut? He only recovered at the end of the season and was immediately thrust into the first team. Orji on the other hand was fit all season and got his chance eventually. 2 Likes |
