TheArchangel:stop fooling yourself. I don't want to contribute anything before but this your last statement bring me in. Truly u are behaving like an illiterate. What about those federal workers in the south east? Who are they contributing to? What about those yorubas working with your state government? Because I know a woman married to an igbo man and she is working with one of your local government. Likewise teachers in many of your schools. What about the traders because also know many yoruba traders in the south east. If you say is because of the port, then ask yourself if north west have port and if north central have port. Then you can know the type of region you come from. 16 Likes |

Mazeltovscotty: Nice analogy But in your calculations, include the eefects of seaports to IGR Southwest, SouthSouth and SouthEast. Seaports in SouthSouth and SouthEast are vastly underfunded. It is more of systematic choice by individuals and groups of highly placed stakeholders in this country. Modern facilities entitled to them are deprived of. I was opportuned to meet three retired managers(names withheld) of SouthSouth and SouthEast who are angry at the Federal Government for intentionally withholding funds, at times delaying it. They said, the Heads and majority of Directors are SouthWest and NorthWest, not that I'm incinerating anything tribal issue, but they were blunt the intent was there. The volume of goods imported into Nigeria are huge, but most importer use Apapa, among others because the depth of water for their is not safe enough for them. You all should stop these immature statements, because its been ignorant. |

Super1Star:I asking you guys to be nice to SS Biafrans, we hold the keys to the Economy of Nigeria, so any attempt to disrespect us and threaten us with war is timidity at its highest. If there is war tomorrow, we will become richer. At least I will be so sure of an oil well to my name, apart a few legitimate bunkering here and there. Make una just keep 'kwayet' and enjoy our natural resources. Any attempt to threaten us with war will meet dire consequences. |

Imagine how much IGR we will save if costs of combating igbo crimes and servicing igbo refugees in our lands were deployed or utilized for other meaningful projects and services for our Yoruba citizens. 15 Likes |

Super1Star: How daft can you get. You are shifting goal posts. You are no longer threatening Biafrans, now it is Otuoke and Boyloaf and Tompolo. Those people you mentioned can speak for themselves and I believe those men single handedly show their might against the Almighty Federal Government. In the end, it took a Jonathan and Yaradua to persuade them to stop. It also took the junior minister and others to beg for the boys to stop the new wave of hostilities. Their exploit is for another day. But this thread has been about your nefarious and recalcitrant nonsensical miming against the Biafrans and I am sure you have seen how silly your threats of war has been defeated by yours truly. If you'all want war, then prepare to find another source of revenue. There are many vultures ready to feast on the oil installations. Look beyond 200 nautical miles from the Bight of Biafra and you will see many, stationed there, who are ready to buy crude at cheaper prices. Do not play into their hands. Respek Ya Selves. |

Super1Star: Yeah. The Nigerian state cannot meet the needs of its different people. Experience so far has shown that the politics of a multicultural and multireligious country makes it impossible for the Nigerian government to be efficient and competent. Naija is the world's most federal country in terms of demographics and ethnic behaviour yet we operate a federalism weaker than that of India or Canada which is far more homogeneous than we are. How we wan take diversify economy? 6 Likes |

Super1Star: Port Revenue goes to the FG, but the trickle-down effect (ever heard of trickle-down economics?) is still there. There are many businesses in Lagos that feed off the seaportS in Lagos. These companies pay taxes to the Lagos state government. If the businesses that Lagos seaports get are not "forced" in a manner that starves seaports in the South-South of businesses, the IGR of Lagos would not be as high because less of these "feeder" companies would be in Lagos. Some would be located in other states, where they'll be paying the taxes they currently pay to Lagos. Lagos IGR is higher because Lagos cheats other states of the federation. Ever tried to ship something from abroad and have it received in Onne, for example? Do it and your shipment will be forcefully trapped in Lagos upon arrival in Nigeria. You'll be told to come to Lagos to clear it. Lagos state continues to unfairly and unjustly benefit from everyone coming to Lagos to clear their imports (containers, cars, etc) because you'd be paying a Yoruba taxi driver, a Yoruba hotel owner, a Yoruba-owned clearing agent/company, a Yoruba-owned trucking company, and so on. Lagos state, just like the Nigerian nation, is a huge fraud and it is structured to survive on the backs of minorities in the South-South Niger Delta area. Lagos, through fraudulent means, stiffles the ability of other reverine states to have functional seaports and to benefit from the trickle-down taxes that would accrue to those states. Another case in point is the proposed IBAKA seaport in Akwa Ibom. WHY DID THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT FUND BADAGRY SEAPORT, A NEWLY CONCEPTUALIZED PROJECT, WHEN IBAKA SEPAORT WAS CONCEPTUALIZED AND APPROVED SINCE THE 1960s OR SO? THERE IS MONEY TO FUND BADAGRY BUT NONE TO FUND A SEAPORT IN AKWA IBOM. IS IT NOT BECAUSE OF A YORUBA DOMINATED FEDERAL GOVERNMENT? The reality is that Lagos state, through all sorts of fraudulent guises, is cheating other states and stealing their tax revenue, and that explains why these figures are always skewed to its favor. Oil companies like ExxonMobil pay taxes to Lagos state. In reality, those taxes should be paid to Akwa Ibom State. So Lagos is stealing tax revenue from Akwa Ibom. Lagos state IGR is a mirage. It is a bogus number that only exist because Lagos cheats other states in the country by stealing other peoples's taxes and resources, ofcourse through federick luggard's contraption where Niger Delta minorities are forced to belong to Nigeria where majority tribes steal their resources. |

Believe me, Igbos made more than 50% of all the SW IGR irrespective of state. Take a trip inot these SW states and count the Igbos doing businesses in the communities and cities, you will know that mostly are Igbos. I am not trying to praise the Igbos, but I know most tribes take a toll on the Igbos in business endeavors. Mazeltovscotty: |
