CanadianNurse: I also have this same challenge. After paying an equivalent of $14,000 cad through the funds transfer form... the school sent me receipt of $13,462.56CAD meaning i still have about $695.74 to complete my fees for the whole year but i still sent cic the receipt like that. I just hope and pray CIC does not make a case out of this |

I need the opinions of gurus on this forum. I graduated with Second Class Lower in Agriculture. After my NYSC, I got a job in the aviation sector. I have been doing this since 2007. Now I want to go for an Advanced Diploma in Aquaculture in Canada which is a branch of Agriculture. I would have gone for Masters in Aquaculture but my 2:2 is an obstacle. This advanced diploma is equivalent to PGd in Aquaculture because after it, one can go straight for Masters. My concern is hope the VO will not see it as inconsistency in career progression. From Agriculture to Aviation and back to Agriculture |

Senatorkolade: Your concern as emboldened will be the reality that will face your application if you proceed. 2007 till now is a long time to gain sufficient work experience in the aviation industry and a master degree program will be reasonable to achieve in this path. More to your dilemma would be the choice of an advance diploma in a field you left long time ago without any major activitiy in since after school. A good choice would be a master or atleast a post graduate diploma in an aviation related field and not agriculture. It probably won't add up as to the rationale behind your decision to pursue higher study. I mean, what would you say is motivating you in this light? You will be cleary seen as an economic migrant rather than a bonafide student. 1 Like 1 Share |

If u ask me anything to aid your application is a welcome idea. Including ur past publications is a good way to reiterate your passion and commitment to your profession. This might also help convince the VO that you're a genuine student. 2.Canada Visa Application Centre, Lagos Manor Hall, Plot 110, Admiral Ayinla Way, Opposite Treasure Garden Estate, Third Roundabout, Lekki Phase I – Lagos OpeLovely: |

Pls advise, for finances mum is sponsoring. She has about 4m in her acct, 1.3m in a 2nd acct, about 9m in pension statement, 3 landed properties. My cousin wants to sponsor me but the relationship is too distant. Thinking of either she transfers the funds to mums account and we package it as proceeds from the sale of 1 of her properties, or she simply pays for my tuition with it,, this will reduce the burden of proof on mums statement. Wot do you think? Also i have 2 siblngs as mums dependnts. Then also my conditional admission is 2 do a 3mnths diploma 1st then proceed to MSC. Both tuition equals about 15000 CAD. Pls advise. quote author=mostblackroad post=57119524]Yes you should shed more light on your personal history. Have you been abroad lately? Have you been refused a visa lately? Also from the information you have shared I can sense some of the reasons why you were denied. 1. N2m is already less than $10,000 CDN at the current exchange rate, that alone does not cover your living allowance much less your school fees. Then again, you have dependents who technically are your financial responsibilities. N2m is not nearly enough to show that you can cover all the necessary needs in Canada and at home in Nigeria. At the current parallel market rates of N285 to $1CDN, you need to show at least N6m on your part (I am assuming your school fees are over $10,000CDN) and then another N2m or more to cover the expenses on your dependents here in Nigeria. So you have to look at a statement of roughly N9-10m to be on a safe side. Farm and hatchery documents are cool but they are not strong pillars. The Canadians care more about liquid cash than property. Share more light on your situation and I may be able to share further insights. - themostblackroad [/quote] |

bigcil2:Tuition in Canada is paid with CAD. $5k is too small to study in Canada except you get full or partial funding from a school. Also in addition to tuition, remember you need to show $10,000 for living expenses. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by likeababygirl: 2:49am On Jun 08, 2017 |
femolala001:First, Your application isn't considered for review until you pay your application fee. That said, you need an admission to apply for Study permit. In the financial aspect, you basically need to show your tuition fees for a year + $10,000. Also, it depends on who is sponsoring you. If self sponsored, you have to show your total tuition fee for the program and $20,000 (since masters is two years). I'll advice you pay your application fee asap and also fufil every requirement needed for the program. Make sure you check if you need to get a supervisor before applying. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by maziude: 3:07am On Jun 08, 2017 |
femolala001: Hello boss, Pay your application fee and apply to your school. Wait till you have been admitted before thinking about visa application. Secondly, visa approval depends on a lot of factors and financial capability is just one of them. When it is time to apply, you will need to submit a well packaged application with required documents. For a list of documents, see the first page of this thread and check cic website. Lastly, no one knows if you stand a chance since none of us is ths VO. We only speculate. PS: Please do the needful first. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by jnyuwa02: 3:53am On Jun 08, 2017 |
nelly28: I thought we have debunked the myth that an application for a Canadian visa has to be made from a country where you have social ties to. There is only one kind of tie that matters when applying for a Canadian visa, that is ties to your home country. I cannot apply in the USA anymore because I have finished my studies and left. Applying there will mean I have to get a new visiting visa and clear new set of huddles and return there. That is possible and among my considerations if I run out of time to apply from Nigeria. Thanks for the suggestion. |
