Tuition in Canada is paid with CAD. $5k is too small to study in Canada except you get full or partial funding from a school.
Also in addition to tuition, remember you need to show $10,000 for living expenses.
Thanks a lot. I have another question. Do you have any cheap college at Ontario area that you can recommend. Also I visited lambtons website and it says tuition for Toronto is 6300$ per term and I can see four terms. Does it mean a term is half of a year. And I know I have asked this but their tuition (lambton) is it in USD or CAD. Please don't be vexed I'm asking this again.

Like i said before. Everything is CAD. Most Ontario colleges are in the range of $13k - $17k per year (two terms in a year except otherwise stated, cos some programs run for 3 terms).so yes 4 terms is two years. If you have $5k, i'll advice you to look away from Ontario, check out schools like NBCC NSCC and maybe some in manitoba and Saskatchewan.

Wow, when were you refused the USA visa and what explanation did you give them? Because of the backlog, they usually respond slowly sometimes. Just exercise patience.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by mostblackroad(m): 9:57am On Jun 08, 2017
Yes especially because if your work experience.

Austinpee4:

Your concern as emboldened will be the reality that will face your application if you proceed. 2007 till now is a long time to gain sufficient work experience in the aviation industry and a master degree program will be reasonable to achieve in this path.

More to your dilemma would be the choice of an advance diploma in a field you left long time ago without any major activitiy in since after school.

A good choice would be a master or atleast a post graduate diploma in an aviation related field and not agriculture. It probably won't add up as to the rationale behind your decision to pursue higher study. I mean, what would you say is motivating you in this light? You will be cleary seen as an economic migrant rather than a bonafide student.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by mostblackroad(m): 10:09am On Jun 08, 2017
@eilenora It shouldn't be difficult. What you can do if possible is to pay part of your tuition because yes that will reduce the total amount you have to show. Remember you need to show $25,000CDN. $15,000CDN is about N4.3m. $10,000 CDN is about N2.8m. Which means you need to have a statement of about N7.1m minimum. If your cousin can pay your tuition that would reduce what you have to show to N2.8m. However, you can transfer to your mom's account but be careful because embassies in general are always suspicious when bulk money comes into an account just before a visa application. You would need to properly explain, your mom that is and with proof. Since she has dependants, you will need to show a little bit more cash in the account, a safe range would be N8m.

In your sponsorship letter it is important your mum briefly mentions that she has two dependants, who are eg. in school and that she is capable of looking after them as well as you.

What was the condition stated on your offer of admission?

Also, land documents don't really count as proof of financial capacity. They serve mostly as home ties if it is yours and as a proof of guarantee if it's from your sponsor, basically it shows that he/she is settled.

Eilenora:
Pls advise, for finances mum is sponsoring. She has about 4m in her acct, 1.3m in a 2nd acct, about 9m in pension statement, 3 landed properties. My cousin wants to sponsor me but the relationship is too distant. Thinking of either she transfers the funds to mums account and we package it as proceeds from the sale of 1 of her properties, or she simply pays for my tuition with it,, this will reduce the burden of proof on mums statement. Wot do you think?

Also i have 2 siblngs as mums dependnts.

Then also my conditional admission is 2 do a 3mnths diploma 1st then proceed to MSC. Both tuition equals about 15000 CAD. Pls advise.

quote author=mostblackroad post=57119524]Yes you should shed more light on your personal history. Have you been abroad lately? Have you been refused a visa lately?

Also from the information you have shared I can sense some of the reasons why you were denied.

1. N2m is already less than $10,000 CDN at the current exchange rate, that alone does not cover your living allowance much less your school fees. Then again, you have dependents who technically are your financial responsibilities. N2m is not nearly enough to show that you can cover all the necessary needs in Canada and at home in Nigeria. At the current parallel market rates of N285 to $1CDN, you need to show at least N6m on your part (I am assuming your school fees are over $10,000CDN) and then another N2m or more to cover the expenses on your dependents here in Nigeria. So you have to look at a statement of roughly N9-10m to be on a safe side. Farm and hatchery documents are cool but they are not strong pillars. The Canadians care more about liquid cash than property.

Share more light on your situation and I may be able to share further insights.

I suggest you just be patient, we can't really say why. I do know that it takes some people days and sometimes weeks to get the biometric request. I believe it is part of their processing. Quick question though, at what point did you get that message?

are u asking about when biometric request is made or how long it takes to do biometric when u get to vfs? if it's the first question then the time varies but as for the second question it doesn't take more than 30mins since u have already done most of the work by applying online

So which is safer, for my cousin to pay my tuition and then mum's acct balance will be ok at about 4m and 1.3 respectively. Or don't pay tuition, deposit the money instead n2 her account but just as you said it may raise red flags. another option I thought of was to put the money into an investment house who will then do a letter to show mum has funds with them and she can liquidate whenever. at least this letter will not show when the funds was put in there. which is the best option to use?

Also the schl I am applying to is in quebec so I have to first apply for a certificate of acceptance which takes about 20 days, before I can now apply for my visa. is it feasible as schl resumes September 5 (Concordia).

Here are the documents I intend using to apply. Have I missed anything out:

(Me) I resigned earlier this year so unemployed, have 2 siblings, not married, no kids. what ties can I use to say I will return after my trip please

4. Quebec Acceptance Certificate (pls for those that have applied for this can you please advise on the documents you submitted and the process too)
5. Pension statement
6. Birth certificate of self and siblings
7. Family pictures
8. Medical examination (considering the time I am working with, can I do this upfront or is it safer to wait till I hear from cic)
9. Police character report/clearance certificate
10. IELTS results
11. Bio data page of international passport for self and siblings
12. Passport photographs with details at the back
13. International passport with at least 2 blank pages and travel history
14. Academic documents such as transcript from University, SSCE/NECO/WAEC results, NYSC discharge certificate, ACCA results
15. Statement of purpose

(SPONSOR: MOM)

1. Statement of account for at least 6 months with a closing balance to cover an amount over and above the following:
a. Tuition Diploma C$ 8000
b. Tuition MSC C$7,000
b. Living expenses for at least one year C$10,000
c. Air fare; circa N1,000,000
2. Pension statement
3. Evidence of landed properties
4. Contract of sale of landed property/investment statement/tuition evidence of payment (depends on which route you gurus advise on)

I submitted the required documents yesterday to CIC through their email and I got the automated response that they received the email.

While playing on mycic account this morning I saw a space where I can upload the required information.
In the letter they sent to me they said I should submit through email but I have also seen a letter from someone who applied through paper and linked online just like myself and he was asked to upload through mycic account.

My fear is that they get tons of mails daily, hope they don't ignore the mail? Should I go ahead and still upload the documents on mycic although I have sent it to them through email?

Pic 1: the method of submission I was asked to use in my letter

Pic2: another letter for my friend who we applied through paper and linked online but he was asked to upload to mycic account

Pic 3: the space on my account where I am required to upload the documents

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by mostblackroad(m): 11:01am On Jun 08, 2017
No wonder, it's quite recent. You should have noted it in your application, but it's fine let's hope for a positive feedback. If it was few years ago then they might not have questioned you. When they ask about refusals, they generally mean all categories and for all countries. A better response would have been that your application was (rejected) and you didn't realise a rejection was a refusal.

I thought we have debunked the myth that an application for a Canadian visa has to be made from a country where you have social ties to. There is only one kind of tie that matters when applying for a Canadian visa, that is ties to your home country. I cannot apply in the USA anymore because I have finished my studies and left. Applying there will mean I have to get a new visiting visa and clear new set of huddles and return there. That is possible and among my considerations if I run out of time to apply from Nigeria. Thanks for the suggestion.

Bro I would ve luv to explain better to u regarding d ties but d way you sounded on ur first 3lines, I don't tink dere is any need for me to explain 4da or break d tiers of ties 4 u.
