Hehehe, yeah, I do visit their forum site, Ghanaweb.com, and boy, u thot tribalism is only in Kenya? I have seen instances when the debate would get so heated, they would exchange insults, referring to the other tribe as dirty dogs, thieves blood suckers etc.
Now, to the extent that a person from one Ghanaian tribe is unwilling to mention the name of the other tribe owing to the tribal animosity is quite disturbing.
I had no idea that tribalism in Ghana was that bad till, till I discovered Ghanaweb.

Anyway, it is not only the words in the African language that would have such amusing meanings when translated into other African languages. Japanese, for example (I think) contains the highest proportion of words, sounding very similar to Kiswahili, and often with really hilarious meanings. Ever heard Japanese names like Tumehara Nyamamoto?

The population of Tigrays is about 6% of Ethiopia population, which is relatively minority compared to Oromos(35%) and Amharas(27%). After 17 years armed struggle, EPRDF(collective of TPLF, Amhara, Oromo and other peoples liberation frons, but mainly dominated by TPLF) took power from Derg in 1991. They established a federal system of government. They took large areas of fertile lands from Amharas provinces of Begemeder(now Gondar zone) and Wello. The historical Shewa province of Amharas were divided into 4 and only North Shewa given to Amharas. Large areas from Gojjam and Begemeder were also given to Benshangul-Gumez. The TPLFs and the fake puppet Amharas in EPRDF are trying their best to destroy Amharas.

My father was one of the few founding members of Amhara liberation front and EPRDF(current government). He was among the few to challenge TFLF racist domination in Ethiopia. His vision was to see equality of all ethnic groups. He died last year without seeing his vision. Let's hope those agama nasty Tigrays will be deported to where they came in Arabia in the future.

It was just for exams. Last year, during the eve of our 12 grade national exam for university entrance, an Oromo guy from USA leaked the stolen exam papers on internet. Our exam was suspended for a month. The government lost huge sums of money because of this. They shouted down the internet when we took the exam and now they did the same also.

Because of fear that the exam will be leaked on the internet. Last year, during the eve of our exam exam, an Oromo guy from USA leaked our exam on Facebook. Our exam was suspended for one month and the internet was shouted down back then. Now again to prevent this kind of situation, the government shouted down the internet.

Ghana is a great country, nobody denies that. However, just like any other country in Africa, and indeed in tge world, it still has problems,, some societal issues it still needs to resolve.
