Hi Mamas I have 2 questions:

1. My baby has this rashish looking thing on his skin, normally baby tribotan clears rashes in 2 days max 3 but this one is going to 5 days. pic attached. Is it just rashes or something else?

2. Car seat. I was going to buy the convertible seat but someone gifted me an infant seat and I chopped hubs money decided to save the money. When do babies outgrow the infant seat? What type should I buy now and

Atinuke has that dry rash on her elbow right now, I'm just assuming it's cos her skin is very dry. I just have a feeling that it'll dry and flake off.

I just called the hospital to ask about rotavirus vaccine and the person on the phone said it's N3500, she seemed to be speaking off the top of her head too. Biko for anyone that's paid for it recently, is that the price cuz I've been hearing rota is expensive.

Choi me I wish I was being sucked dry but me I'm always eating with one hand and breastfeeding with the other. I don't know which one made me more hungry, pregnancy or breastfeeding. Even when food is not readily available, I'd take tea or a massive bowl of pap, I just feel like I'd faint if I don't address the hunger at once.

I've been on keto for a month now and have lost at least 7 kg, it could have been more, but I cheat often, infact, when i cheat and check my scale, i find out i gain between one or two pounds back or remain on the same number for some days.

So for those who want to start and are breastfeeding, you are advised to do nursing mothers meal plan so that breast milk will not kuku finish. Flat tummy water is a no no too.

And for those of us who have packed bweest for oga and subsequent pikins, we do the main keto. The koko is once you cheat, get back on track again and if you feel you need to take the non compliant meals, do it in moderation i.e when I had this consistent headache as a result of keto flu, I started taking normal meals once a day before enemy will go and faint and i'm fine now and back to keto. Keto requires consistency and thats why those that have achieved their ideal weight still go on maintenance cos if you go back to ur old ways of eating, the pounds will begin to add up

To all my foodies in the house, I yam the chief foodie, infact, I have been on the big size right from birth... story for another day, I was so big, and from my mums story, only God and God alone saved her. My appetite does not have part two, hence, i have always been on one weight plan or another. What it takes is discipline, and keto as been the easiest so far so I rarely exercise now, (no where to put baby).

Add yourself to the groups, they are plenty and read success stories. You will be encouraged

Mamas and Papas in the house..I greet una oooo. Happy parenting and may our Children grow to OUTDO us in every achievement grin grin grin grin.

Please ooo..my 10 months old boy sweats a lot, even today that the weather is cool after a heavy downpour, the boy still sweats, most annoying thing is the sweat most times turn to little prickly heat. He is healthy, vibrant,'stubborn' and that lil man can disturb and scatter for Africa...the house knows quiet only when he is asleep grin grin grin grin grin.
Is the excessive sweating normal for a baby at such an age?

My baby was on similac( her poop was greenish brown and at times watery ) but after we exhausted the one I came back with from US, I switched to Cow & gate ( her sister took this ). Her poop is the right colour and consistancy is good. She is 4months 3 weeks old.
Noted. Thanks

Hi, I've heard a lot about Ketogenic Diet. I'm a bit concerned, as it seems like you guys are substituting one food group out (most of the heavy carbs) for new typed of grains. I would have liked to try it but I'm not sure about the longterm effects...

Honestly, it's d long term effects am also worried about, I was almost going into it, but I found that most fat that we advise people to, stay away from is what they consumed in keto. U won't believe a company was almost sealed off just because regula5 bodies saw tallow fat in their lab.

Another take on the Nanny-Creche Discussion:

http://nefescorner..com/2017/06/a-nanny-day-can-it-keep-creche-away.html

Creches seem like a better option but it depends on each individual. I have seen a wonderful nanny whose salary started ast N25,000 and she ended up leaving with N500,000 as a gift 4 years later, with an offer to always feel free to come back when she wanted. Hopefully this gives you a clearer insight.

New grains.... i've not heard of that. Who has heavy carbs epp? I've been substituting white rice with ofada even before keto, and If a diet includes that I eliminate refined flours for coconut or almond flour, sugar and sugary drinks etc, then its healthy. It's also a diet recommended by doctors for some set of people, can't remember why except i check online again. Keto is infact healthy, and I don't know of any long term effects of eating healthy

White rice isn't healthy and I would substitute it. Sugar and processed flour, most definitely is a good idea to give up. Those are the basis of almost any healthy eating lifestyle changes. But the people who were selling Keto diets to me were talking of making swallow out of some very weird stuff and some other things. And I have not seen a Dr so far recommend it to me o (and I have asked a lot of them and since I wasn't paying them for their advice, they were brutally honest cheesy). And I have met some good nutritionists (well-known) who don't approve of any named Diet. It's pretty perplexing. Healthy eating is quite different from a diet, according to all thess people.

Yeah I know
My issue with Keto is that fact that the weight just keeps adding up when you stop. Keto lifestyle ain't cheap. For me though, I still love my carbs which is why I don't even follow the nursing mothers plan. I just freestyle and exercise. The days I'm tired of keto meals, I simply do portion control from my regular meal and reduce my carbs intake.

I've always been a tiny person. And I've never had to watch my weight or watch what I eat (or maybe it was because I swam every weekend) In fact there was a time in my life when I weighed 45kg. I know I'll snap back to the size I want. But for now, make I de enjoy

Olive oil, soy oil, avocado oil, coconut oil are good sources of mono/poly saturated fats encouraged in keto and these are the good fats we need. I've not heard that we should run away from them, or is there?

For me i pick what soothes me and dump the rest. Swallows are actually made from cucumber, cabbage, egg plant, coconut flour and the likes. Not weird at all. In all, diet and nutrition goes hand in hand. we need it a point in our lives, i.e i don't expect my dad to eat pounded yam everyday like he used to do in those days.
