By all means disclose that you were refused a visa. Under the Biographic Visa Immigration Sharing between USA and Canada, they can find out. The reason is not always asked, only whether you were ever denied is what is asked. If you were denied before the advent of Biometrics (Pre-1999), you could have gotten away with it by not disclosing.

what if i have not been denied in any other country apart from canada,is it necessary i tell them or fill yes in the part whr ask if i have bin denied bfor?

You are shooting yoursef at the leg if you fail to declare any previous refusal. Do declare any previous refusal of any country esp. developed countries u've sought travelling to b4.

Hi Everyone, am new to nairaland and an happy because all I see are people that try to help each other. So am applying on Monday for my study permit (paper route). Got ad mission to do Diploma integrated Aviation Management in McGill University for Sept 2017.

1. So my question is my course doesn't relate to my first degree.
2. Most people are using sponsors. Sponsoring myself is that a problem. I really don't want to have to lie
3. Sincerly how long does it take to get response
4. All family members can enter Canada legally. Is that not an issue

Please gurus in the house abeg evaluate n tell me what to do better
Hello boss,
1. Your work experience covers the mismatch in courses.
2. So long as what you have covers what CIC is requesting, you are good to go. Most times, people use sponsors as an additional means of proof of funds.
3. Atleast 14 weeks for applicants from Nigeria.
4. That should not be a problem. You cant change the fact that they all have visas. But they are good ties together with your job.

The above is my opinion.... Enjoy your weekend.

1. from my own understanding u have been working in the aviation sector since 2010 till date (2017) that should be enough to convince the vo(though a good sop to explain will help more).
2.its not a must u use a sponsor as I can see u have more than enough to carter for urself for the whole 12 months of ur program.
3.as at today the processing time is 14 weeks but it can be approved before then
4. it's not an issue at all.
hope I was able to answer your questions? gurus in the house can explain better sha

To answer your 1st question, you have to convince the visa officer on y u suddenly chose to study that particular course, since it doesn't relate to ur first degree and ve bn working for years and financially stable, that can be explained in your statement of purpose or letter of explanation.

To ur 2nd question, you don't need an external sponsor, if u are financially capable to sponsor yourself all through ur degree programme that is tuition plus living expenses included.

To your 3rd question, the average processing time for visa processing in Nigeria is about 14wks, so u need 2 kick off ur application as soon as u can.

I don't really understand ur 4th question, d question isn't very clear

BRANDYAK:
Start by addressing the lecturer with appropriate tittle e.g Dr,prof, etc. Introduce yourself. If you did not take the toef or any other state why eg you are from Nigeria English is the language of instruction ,u studied in English from primary school. State that u intend pursuing masters this or next year and after going through list of Supervisor and discovered his research work mainly focused on your interest. Tell him ever since your UG u have been interested in the said discipline. Say you read his article title... Which he authored or co authored with.... (Don't forgot to make reference) which he explained..... Tell him what you have been doing in that domain. Let him know you meet minimum eligibility requirements for international student s admission . let him know you are highly interested in working actively under his supervision. Attached transcript, CV, and any achievement in the domain tell him to kindly review and let you know if you are qualified. If you have any extra curricular activities in that domain pour out your involvement.

N B always make it short and captivating to capture the supervisor since you are not the only candidate. Send to many supervisor in less than no time you will get a positive respond.
Hope this helps.

Hey bro
Can you confirm when the domicilliary account or pay tuition policy came into play?

Bro go on and pay d application fees ( hope 4 d best), I hope u applied to oda schools too.

Info on how 2 apply 4 ur study permits, When ur LOA is out( I know MUN LOA is unconditional ) but due to d new CIC policy, it either you pay for you full tuition or show a proof of a Dom account statement & reference letter if u operate any, along side ur other academic & work( if any) documents & 4 how much will will b needing slightly depend on ur tuition fees and for d change dat depend too or ur packaging, try as much as possible to present ur best shot. below are guide and CIC forms.

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by mostblackroad(m): 8:46am On Jun 09, 2017
@eilenora When your TRV is approved you will be given a visa only for the duration of your first program on the conditional acceptance, after that you will have to re-apply or extend while in Canada. So if your diploma is three months you will be given a three month visa, once you complete it you would have to re-apply. I was told that and also confirmed it on cicnews. Re-applying would mean submitting financial documents and application documents again. If you are not in a rush, I would personally suggest you apply for a different program in a different school that will give you direct admission (unless you have searched and didn't find).

http://monitor.icef.com/2016/08/canada-introduces-new-visa-process-conditional-admissions/

Are you applying via paper or online?

imm 5409 - is applied to people who have a registered relationship in the government, if you are single, it doesnt concern you.

imm 5476 - is for when you used a representative (agent)

imm 5483 - is your checklist for your application

imm 5485 - is for people applying to settle in canada

imm 5945 - is for visitors visa and hence doesnt concern you

Eilenora:
Many thanks.

So I sent you a pm with snapshots of my acceptance letter with conditions attached. I was admitted directly into the diploma programme to take courses they felt I should have taken to enable me do an MSC Economics. After the diploma of 3 months then I may then transfer to the MSC course.

I started registering for courses as there are some courses that I am being put on the waiting list how much more if I wait till I get to Canada. I though of paying for accommodation as I saw something like that on the CIC Website.

So can you advise on if I am to complete the following forms in addition to the FORMS 1294E and 5645E:

IMM FORMS 5409, 5485, 5476, 5483, 5832, 5945 and also the VFS waiver form

You have to answer 'yes' where it asked you whether you have been denied visa before. Denial of a visa does not disqualify you from getting a visa on a second try if you have all documents intact. The possibilities of them finding out is high of you lie. And when they find out, if you were not truthful, you are certainly always gonna be denied.
