Abeg make una no vex, d onion water dat is being discussed for clearing baby rash, how is it prepared? Is it 2cut d entire onion,boil n use d water 2bath dd or 2use d onion peel only. Been trying 2read backwards but still can't find d page it was discussed. Pls it's urgent cos dd has bin having stubborn rashes dat has refused 2clear off even after taking antibiotics.

Biko wat did u use for catarrh, ours just surfaced yesterday evening, and she won't let me touch her nose.... Struggles a lot

Oshe. I don dey turn sabi mama. The trick is to try and get the nose to flow. You can put a few drops of eucalyptus oil in hot water and sit with LO for the steam to enter her airways. Cover yourselves with a towel. You can also put a few drops on her bib (I couldn't do this cos my pikin dey chop bib now)
Best thing is saline drops. You can make your own (Google) or get from the pharmacy. A drop in each nostril loosens the catarrh


Then you suck it out!

Sometimes I just soaked cotton bud with the solution and put in his nose (not far inside oh) the sucking you have to hold her head. My LO hated the steam bath so I only did it twice but it's very effective

Biko Nne, try the onions water.

I just boiled it with the bath water and left them in even when mixing with cold water. Bathed him then threw the peels away with whatever water was left

My 7 month baby was down with malaria,we just finished the medication last night but she has not been eating (maybe bitter mouth), is there anything apart from medicine to make her eat/increase her appetite? She is a foodie so I'm so worried cos she has been going without food for 12 hours since she fell Ill. I've started abidec though but guess that takes time.
Breastmilk isn't flowing well enough otherwise maybe that would have tasted good in her mouth.
Also her hair is turning brown. I was using aveeno to wash like twice a week and rubbing shea butter and Johnson oil on it.
Please advise.

Hi Mama... Sorry to hear about your LO. I'm sure her apetite will pick up soon especially as she's still recovering. Just wanted to mention that you don't need to wash your babies hair with aveeno twice a week. Once is fine because the soap dries out the hair. We used aveeno too and I noticed a visible difference after we reduced. Also maybe check her nutrient intake. Have you introduced purees yet? What meals does she eat now? Their diet contributes to these things as well. Sometimes it could be genes...

What I do is give fluids( lucozade boost, ribena and water ( i put water in sippy cup where DS can reach) with cartoons as distraction but, since she is 7months she can't reach the cup on her own yet. I would suggest giving her lucozade boost/ribena/water with spoon.

I then used the fried fish and meat for attraction purposes..... a bite here or two and we are good to go.

Yes I've started puree but maybe she doesn't have enough. She only takes like twice a week cos I like to give her fresh and time wont permit.
She eats potatoes, amala and ewedu, carrot, water melon, mango once a while, rice cereal. Buthe she takes more milk than solid.
