Aboki ke? Surely, You must have meant Afonja grin..

Anyway, the day Mourinho would get to have a midfield similar that of his top midfield of Thiago Motta, Sneidjer, Deco et al is the day he will get a sniff of a real title, including the CL. Let him keep parading mediocre as midfielders!

Totally agree with you.

a clause was input and activated by Real Madrid, else Juventus would never have sold at that price.

the same has been done for Memphis Depay and I think Adnan Januzaj and any other potential will get same clause; just in case. this is the new 'loan deal' these days.

£68m is just about fair for a player of his exposure and quality. Belotti, Romelu Lukaku, Dybala will all command similar fees if not more.

It's kinda good the way alternatives are popping out ever since grizzy transfer was confirmed impossible till 2018, now he has signed a new 5yr deal.....

But guys were behaving like as if there were no alternatives when it seemed he was coming.. pfft...

Well, I remember suggesting Dembele last season, now everyone is screaming to sign him for 80 mil when we could have signed him for less. BTW, I don't support the signing of Dembele for 80 mil. He does not worth the fee at the present.

Moreover, I'm always of the belief that the midfield is the engine of the team no matter how good the attack is. For example, City had a good attack yet everytime Silva is absent in the team, their attack is often in disarray. And what did Barca archive this season with their wordclass attacking trio?

My point is until we improve our midfield with a playmaker, our attack won't improve one bit! Mourinho can even attest to it. His best season were with playmakers such as Deco, Motta, Sneidjer in his midfield. As a matter of fact, he had 2 of these playmakers in his Inter midfield and it wasn't a surprise when he scooped the treble with them. In fact, one of the thing that ruined Benitez season was Motta's constant injury in Benitez's first season at Inter before he later left for Psg in the following season.

Anyway, I will advise Dembele to stay put at Dortmund because he's likely going to get better with the likes of Weigl, Dahoud supporting him in the midfield than ours, Mkhi can tell him better.

Yeah, we know the transfer market is something else but the point is that an extended spell on the bench shouldn't multiply the value of a player by a factor of 2.5 thereabout - if anything, the reverse should be the case!

It prolly might sound odd but me thinks we shoulda waited a bit longer - I doubt if Madrid would insist on such a high figure towards the close of the transfer window.

It's rather unfortunate that we are now in the "anything price is fine" situation.

Right now I'm only interested in that midfield signing. I don't even care if we sign Ronaldo and Messi cos we will still struggle a lot without someone that can dictate the midfield for us.

Don't you know according to some, we already have a wonderful midfield, with one of them getting a MOTM award? A midfield that was dominated by Ajax u23 team! LOL!

I believe every grt midfield shud hv three type of players- the who does the dirty job (ensures the opponent doesnt enjoy playin e.g Casimiero, bousquets vidal, kante), the one cleans up after him( and moves his team forward wit speed movement and passing e.g Modric, peak Iniesta, thiago), and the creator ( whose primary job is to create attacking outlets for his teammates e.g prime Xavi, fabregas, kroos, ozil, pogba, rakitic,). Any team wit dis blend in midfield can dominate any team lyk barca in days of xavi, iniesta, sergio and d current madrid team. Dats y i kinda understand elampiro‘s stand on my favourite player because u cant rili place him in any of dese categories. Bt d truth is dat herrera is a very comitted player who is ready to fyt for d shirt. Dos kind of players ar difficult to find at any club nd we in particular ar in need of players wit his mentality. Benchin smbody lyk Him wuld b throwin d baby wit d bath water. Nw it is clear dat our midfield is lackin in atleast one of d profyls i gave so dis is wat i tink wud work well for us- since we know dat POGBA is a blend of cleanup guy and creator bt more of creator, nd since Herrera has d attributes of a clean up guy who is nt afraid to also get dirty, lets get smbody hu will handle d dirty job nd can also clean up. A perfect example bein vidal wich we knw we cant hv. Bt am sure we hv d scouts who can find such players. Most importantly though, i trust dat Mou knows want he his doin so am goin to relax and watch him nd Ed do dier work.
N.B the above are is strictly my opinion nd may or may nt concur wit dos of oda persons

68m for Morata is never a fair reflection of Moratas quality .

Ees like you don't know it's Morata we're talking about. Morata with a whopping 58 senior career goals total.

Do you know what 68m is?

United does not need a striker like morata when there are quality players available in the market. E.g. ciro immobile, yaya " sir-no-goal" sanogo, troy deeny and takuma asano..... am so disappointed mou is trying to spoil our club angry angry angry angry

I'm not down with the morata deal but jose brought him to the lime light in madrid, he progressed under conte at Juve and there is actually no striker on earth that can displace ronaldo so he deserved his bench status! He should have remained at Juve in my opinion!

Maybe jose knows what he can offer apart from what we see so we have to just accept it and support the club but if we don't come up with an extra striker we may struggle! The loss of Ibra and rooney needs to be adressed!

The club has given him signs to bounce? He has already said he may need to leave? He has lost his place in the starting 11 both at united and also in england due to his non performance at united? The legends have told him to leave? Jose has told him he would like him to stay if he would be happy as a bench man? Rooney is gone...just wait till he gets back from holiday

Gelson martins has been touted as a potential signing to fill our right wing problem. Personally i dont believe in these 1 season wonders. United currently needs established players who have performed over 2 or 3 seasons. His clips reminds me of Anthony Martial who has failed to live up to expectations this season.

Off the pitch? So we should keep paying a non scoring striker 300k per week just to keep singing motivational songs from the bench? Or is he a coach too? Or a mascot? Should that money not be used in arranging contracts for more talented players?

No one here loves rooney as much as me but I can't let his past affect my future! I'm glad the club sees it that way too!

Just cos he's lost his physical edge doesnt mean he's totally useless. He's been there and he's seen it all. He should be allowed to see out his contract if he wants to, not the way youre canvassing for him to be booted out of OT.

Apart from Zlats he was the only one left in the striking position who Martial n Rash can look up to for advice and guidance, not cheering alone as you mentioned. You think a team's success always has to do with only those on the pitch?

Note: I don't want him on the pitch too but it's always wise not to throw the baby, bath water and bathtub away at the same time.

Guidance? Or you mean guiding them by not scoring or by getting benched by them for incompetence? I wonder what the feeder boys at real and barca think about this your logic when they have ronaldo and messi to look up to for guidance! Or maybe it is morata and rodriguez they should be looking up to?

Otunba guys like rooney are top players...they are not meant to sit on benches and wait for dead rubber games in order to play! You can't be the top earner at an elite club and be a cheer leader! They have given him a testimonial, Scholes giggs and neville have said he can't do the numbers and he would have been seriously pained by last season? He has said he knows where he will be next season! Under performance means the exit door at united regardless of whether you are the most motivational speaker in the dressing room...no one is bigger than the club...

Mourinho had later understood that Herrera had noticed something even the United coach had not remembered.
“It turned out Herrera had taken responsibility in the situation. The reason was that the Mkhitaryan had a yellow card, so if Ajax suddenly put in a counterattack, and Mkhitaryan had fouled the player, he would have been expelled with a one-goal lead. In addition to preventing a potential disaster, Herrera helped United control the game.
One fact is very obvious now, you do not even understand what you are arguing about before you engage in arguments. I didn't dispute the fact that it was a defensive move, I only said that Herrera showed leadership attributes by organising the team. I remember clearly that funlord's post about Herrera being our next captain which you refuted was what made me get involved in the argument in the first place.
