I agree with every other point but no4. A professional coach has no reason whatsoever to defend his starting line up in a press conference. I hope this is a joke.

No jokes o ..

If a question like ; Coach Rohr ,why should you field Awaziem ahead of Omeruo??..

I paraphrased what I heard on brila fm this morning.

England's Young Lions can handle the Golden Generation tag - Abraham

England Under-21 striker Tammy Abraham insists the Young Lions can handle being called the next Golden Generation.
The 19-year-old is confident Aidy Boothroyd's youngsters are ready to take the spotlight following the Under-20s' World Cup triumph on Sunday.
Paul Simpson's side were crowned world champions after a 1-0 win over Venezuela, with the Under-21s now aiming to echo their success at Euro 2017 in Poland.
The previous group named the Golden Generation included David Beckham, Frank Lampard, Paul Scholes and Wayne Rooney but never got past the quarterfinal stage of a major tournament.
Chelsea forward Abraham is preparing for Friday's tournament opener against holders Sweden in Kielce and believes the new crop can cope if they are given the same nickname.
He said: "We definitely can handle that tag. We have guys who are talented, can work hard and have everything. It's just about blending in and becoming one, not just thinking about yourself.
"They did the country so proud and we would love to follow in their footsteps by winning the Euros. Obviously being the Under-21s we want to show we are the next up and coming players for the England squad, so there is a bit of pressure.
"But then we have some amazing lads, so we think we can go far as well. We can't have them bragging they won and we didn't!''
Abraham, who has been linked with a loan move to Newcastle or Brighton, was eligible for Simpson's Under-20s squad but was selected by Boothroyd for Euro 2017 after scoring 26 goals on loan at Bristol City last season.
He could have been a world champion but is determined to focus on succeeding in Poland with the Under-21s.
Abraham, who will wait until after the tournament to decide his future, said: "Yes it's bittersweet, it's true. It's a great achievement. I'm sure they're proud of themselves.
"The whole country is proud of them. They deserved to win it. But obviously I'm here to win the Euros and we've got a lot of good players, so we're in with a chance.
"A lot of the boys watched the whole game at St George's Park after training. I'm proud to have helped them get to the tournament, of course, but obviously I'm so proud to be here as well.
"Hopefully what I've done all season is paying off and we can win the tournament. The boys are buzzing.
"It's massively inspiring. We're going into a massive tournament now with the Under-21s and it would be nice to end it on a blast. The boys are confident.
"We've had a great season. We just want to top off with a win. Some of the lads have played in the Premier League, in top teams, we have an amazing team. Hopefully we can show that. We're all excited and we just have to prove it.''

.........................
Tammy Abraham is already talking about being part of the golden generation of England players. Seriously, the way people talk up the prospects of some of these players dumping European countries for Nigeria perplexes me.

Is it that we haven't learnt from previous experiences that Nigeria will never be considered if such player is in the ascendancy with top career prospects.

Let's continue making derogatory comments about our home grown players and league while talking up the chances of Nigerians abroad to make babies who will represent us. Let's continue deluding ourselves.

If Tammy dumps England for Nigeria, I will quit my job and become a Thai monk for a year.

no 5, is good and ok, but we have ALAMPASU , and wee need a keeper like ENYEAMA, and a goalkeeper trainer like AMUSA ADISA, to mature and prepare the keepers for any task ahead

To be honest with you,I have listened and read how former ex footballers and coaches have clamoured for a better shot stoppers for all our national teams.

Most of them want Akpeyi to be axed from the team.I forsee this is the end of Akpeyi.Alloy Agu has been lackadaisical with this sensitive department of the team.If he is not ready to sit up,he should ship out.

you do understand that the goal was scored in the first half right? Of course that gives us ample time to respond, and if Enyeam pulled him down it would have been a penalty and another sure goal, fantastic decision making by Enyeama

That 2nd goal came in the second half. Go back and watch again.

Fantastic decision that made Rantie dribble him and he went to ground like a child playing in the sand (no disrespect meant)

I am judging based on what I see. Heard Adi was in camp once and due to some issues with some NFF topwigs he was dropped, his career is probably going to go down the drain so I left him out. And even he is inexperienced about the African game, what we are looking for is experience AKA tested and tusted players who can still perform and teach the younger lads.

I said ANY goalkeeper we have is better than Akpeyi. Guy wait, is it that you didn't see the first bar that they hit? A simple cross and catch that GKs do all day in training and the imposter of a gk failed, how is that in anyway a good GK?

ANY. Then you are not being fair.

If akpeyi did what he did that led to the 2nd goal in a professional league in Europe, he will promptly be axed! Plain and simple

Lets get something right. A goalie is also a part of the defence. And so as the last line of defence with a one on one situation, and he had closed the attacker down, the logical thing to do is to prevent the guy from making any further contact with the ball. If he had to jump the guy, so be it. Worst case scenario, he gets a red card. If we lost 1nil, we wont be this annoyed. In europe, its called taking one for the team. We could at least hustle and still get a draw. Moreover the incident happened way outside our18 yard box. The moment the 2nd goal went in, the morale was totally down.

So in my books, Akpeyi desevedly got the sticks or bashing he deserved
Akpeyi getting red card, ten against eleven and u think we survive it.

Go back and watch the 2-2 we played against SA in Uyo in 2014. Watch how our idolized Enyeama handled the situation when he was one on one with Rantie for their second goal.

Please everyone should re-watch that video on YouTube.

God bless u Icon4.I tire for guys here even poor Akpeyi handled better than great Enyeama.

So why didn't Busquets get the flack when Sandro caught them on the counter with Malaga? Mathieu was the man assigned then.

I doubt you watched this match you just talked about. What exactly happened that day?

Akpeyi is not good enough I know. But he is getting an unfair criticism. They left the CBs that were out of position out of the blame and put everything on Akpeyi for not taking a red card. Na wa.

The highlights of the NFF technical committee were as follows;
1.Coach Rohr match day squad will be vetted by the technical committee. He must give reasons why each player was selected.
2.Only after the technical comtee are satisfied with the match day squad before the match day squad team list will be made public.
3.Coach Rohr will make the match day squad team list public before journalist in a press conference.
4.Coach Rohr will answer questions raised by journalists in the press conference. He will defend why he selected his players.
5.A thorough search for better goalkeeper for all our national team has began. They are not satisfied with the choice of some gk when the need arises.
with these resolutions coming from the NFF our football might be heading south!

My question is who are folks in technical committee? Are they even technically sound? If yes, do they have the progress of our football in mind or they are after their pockets?

Because me I'm afraid of lobbying and corruption from this group of people calling themselves football technocrats... which we've seen before and once again letting it ruin and set fire on the only thread bonding this nation-FOOTBALL.
