Na wa o for CIC! na any slight thing dem dey pick on. You application looks good. The problem likely will be the relationship between your work experience and your proposed program.

One thing we must understand is that these officers do not completely understand the indepth description of roles of work experience/current activities if they are not directly in line with the proposed program. They just want to see the same line or current activity with intended program. Anything allitle different, we must broaden their scope and relate how the current job is either a good part of the the program or an aspect of it that need further development. This is where the statement of purpose will come in.

I think you need one that will better open their mind to these terminologies, their application in your career in telecoms, how the master program in SPACE PHYSICS would further add and in what capacity.I mean, questions will bother around
1.why space physics?
2.Does this person have any research or work as a space scientist?
3.How will space physics add to someone working in telecoms?
4.If he says he will come back after study, how will he use space physics in nigeria since he has 5 years experience in telecoms?
5. How will space physics add up in telecoms?

I would assume a visa officer may want to understand how space physics and telecoms go together and how your proposed program would significantly add to your advancement having a career in telecoms.

They probably would think you are going for the master because you have a physics degree and not because of your current activity. You will have to prove them wrong and tell them all about your job and how more knowledge in space physics would add to it and make your career improve. If you just graduated from university, they would have seen your intention to study space physics as genuine atleast to research on space technology.

Beside, your program is research based and to say you intend researching on an area you are not currently having work experience in or have not completely enlightened a visa officer about possibilities with your master program will be seen as a non genuine move.

All the same, i still suggest you order for your gcms note. It will be more revealing and then we can hit the nail on the head. Meanwhile, start thinking and putting down the areas in your current job that directly relate with your program and if need be, do further research on some area of application space physics has in telecoms.

Also, I guesa the problem could be form the msc proposed program, seeing that you already have an msc. If I were you, I wouldn't have added the msc info unless I am going for phd. God has the final say at the end of the day

Good Day to the house. I have been following this trend anonymously and I have gotten a load of information. I want to say thank you.

I just rounded up my M.Eng Mechanical Engineering applications to the University of Waterloo and the University of Ottawa for January 2018 resumption. I still await their admission response.

I'm expecting a positive response so that I can also share with the House.

One issue that is giving me concern is the establishment of home ties. I'm unmarried, no child yet, no real concrete job also and quite young.

Can anyone give me an idea of how I can prepare a convincing home tie to add to my SOP. Thank you.

@austinpee @thesoj @folumade1 and to everybody on this canada student forum may all our dreams come through in Jesus name.

please let us all be weary of this user, really don't know her moniker but her email is tania.ogaje@yahoo.com. i met her here on this platform too and thank God for his guidiance she nearly misled me trying to introduce me to forging statements that she did hers and her passport was approved, she even said she has travelled to Canada and has been comnunicating with me randomly on chat.

I became wary when she asked me to credit her naira account that she is broke in Canada, so i asked her how do you intend withdrawing she said before she left she settled her account officer who now enabled her naira card. Immediately i went on red alert coz i am a banker with a 9 years solid experience and i know that's not possible. Well i played along and said no probs ill assist her but where is her province so i could send money directly to her

Anyway tired of writing bla bla bla guys just be weary
she could be very dubious....... just trying to be my brother and sis keeper
Na real wa! Glad you didn't succumb to this. Thanks for alerting the house!

My supervisor was the one that asked me to put in for another master with the hope of transferring to phd in the second year so that it will boost my chances of getting scholarship. But I have informed him about the rejection, he promised to give me a letter to the vo, explaining why I was admitted for master and the intention of transferring to phd in2nd year.

Concerning gcms, I would have liked to request for it but the processing time is long and with that i wouldn't be able to make sept entry. And if i differ my admission to Jan, I wouldn't be able to do that for my scholarship and the truth is that without the financial support, I wouldn't be able to finance my study.

Pls reply. thanks
I do not really think it is because you are going for second master program. It would be because you did not justify why you are going for your propose program and establish the relationship between your current work and your proposed program.

The letter from your supervisor could help but you also need to explain to officers how your career in telecoms will improve as a master in space physics. You have to really do this well.

Well, i can understand why you may not want to defer. The burden now will be on you to show that you need the master you intend to pursue.

Hopefully you are able to do this well. All the best bro.

Good morning guys! I am new here and I've been following this thread anonymously and it's been helpful. I have a question please. I submitted my application for a study permit few weeks ago and I'm worried about this police certificate issue. I lived and worked in Qatar for up to 9 months between 2014 and 2015. Do you think I will be asked to submit a police certificate from Qatar. Although I can make effort to request for the certificate but I still want to confirm from those who have experienced this before so I know whether to go ahead with the request or not before IRCC sends a mail requesting for it. Many thanks.
Since you submitted already, just relax. If the police report is needed, be rest assured IRCC will request it from you. Your application will not be refused because you didnt include it.

You will first download the IMM 1294 and IMM 5645 and fill with your computer (use the latest version of Adobe reader) and then upload to to your online documents checklist. Do not print and sign. You will still sign online when you have finish uploading each file.

Here is the link of where to download the forms.

Hey guys, I've been following you posts and replies, I'd say it really educating. I've observed a particular trend, you guys work your application, processing etc on your own. I don't know if it is bad to hire an agent because that's what I'm planning on doing. I don't know if anyone have heard about PFL educational services. Heard they are very good. I don't mind the cost sha, I can afford it. Please I need your suggestions on whether to go with them@PFL.

Abeg if you are looking for agent to dash money please just give me half will help you and package the same thing sef! grin

But it's really nothing ... Agents just make it look like a big deal ! You can do it yourself...but you need to research, read other people's experience and pray!

Cus na God dey give VISA...not VISA officer!

Download it, use your computer to fill it, save it and then upload it online. That is the simply process. You don't need biro any where when applying through the online route. You will still sign before you submit your application using your full name.

I dont just understand you oh...

The boss you quoted is a student studying in Rwanda hence has a student permit. Meaning he has a valid reason for applying from Rwanda based on his valid residence status there.

Heck, I even applied from China (which was approved) because I have a student status in China and have been there for 3 years now.

What is your residence status in Cameroun? Are you not going there just because you felt the Nigerian processing time will delay you?

Someone even explained the technicalities earlier which in most cases are rare.

If you want to apply from Cameroun, please go ahead and apply.

We only gave you our opinions which by the way was a mistake based on your comments.

[/quote

Thanks for your input. I reserve the right to accept or reject any advice. Not every word here should be taken as holy grail. A valid status by any other name, is a valid status. Who says that I cannot travel to Cameroon on visiting visa to apply for a study permit if the back log in Nigeria would mean I am going to end deferring my admission for one year. The school has not even issued me official documents which I am waiting for as per their protocol for admissions. The VO will see when the official documents were issued me and why it was impossible to file in Nigeria. And who says all Nigerian visas are processed in Ghana? Funny. All applications made in Nigeria are processed in Ghana sounds about right. Case closed. I will update the house on my application made from Cameroon or any other country for that matter, with the shortest processing time. I appreciate all your inputs.
