Masses Responsible For Nigeria's Problems - Solomon Dalung by LasgidiOnline(m): 6:19am On Jun 17, 2017
Minister of Youth and Sports, Barrister Solomon Dalung on Friday said the masses are responsible for the nation’s socio-economic problems.

He said this while speaking with newsmen at the 2017 annual Friendship and Dialogue Dinner organised by the UFUK Dialogue Foundation.

He said the problems in the country were caused by the people in the lower cadre.

“The problem basically is down the social stratum. At the base, we have majority of people who cannot tolerate one another, who cannot appreciate one another and have difficulty in appreciating the faith of others. If we continue to meet at this level we will continue to recycle the same method that has not yielded results. As leaders, we need to move out and engage the people at the bottom of the social stratum,” Dalung said.

“We must take a deliberate step, lest we are consumed. There are already signals of opposing agitations – asking for a republic, quit notice, all these are issued by people who were born after the civil war. We want one united Nigeria,” Dalung added.

If at the base, we have majority of people who cannot tolerate one another, then let those at the top not tolerate one another in embezzling the base's future

This man's stupidity is epic.
The worst of them all.
His choice of words, character and behaviours is an example of the failings of this Government.
When you put the wrong people in position, you get the kind of feedback you see.
So we,down below the social stratum,is the problem, then you the looters, embezzlers, robbers,40%ers and walking-ghosts are the saints abi?

Someone will say Africans do not have respect if I insult this man as e be me so.Continue, your day of reckoning is coming.Imbecil.e

Re: Masses Responsible For Nigeria's Problems - Solomon Dalung by omohayek: 8:12am On Jun 17, 2017
Solomon Dalung may not be the sharpest tool in the box, but on this occasion he's right: the problems afflicting Nigeria cannot be blamed solely on "elites", as the blame extends all the way down the social ladder, to the masses who give their backing to these thieving and incompetent elites. Who else but the masses provide cover for corrupt politicians to hide behind "leave our son/daughter alone" and "this is a witch hunt" protests? Aren't these the same masses whose only concern when voting is to select a candidate who is "our kinsman", regardless of the person's character (or lack thereof) and intellect (or absence thereof)? These same masses complain that idiots like Dino Melaye and Samuel Ortom are doing nothing worthwhile with the offices they've won, but who voted for them in the first place?

Let's face facts: Nigerian politicians are drawn from the general population, and their character in office is an accurate reflection of the Nigerian masses, most of whom are intensely tribalistic, given to religious sectarianism, have no patience for niceties such as due process, are unscrupulous about using nepotism and "conneh" to get ahead, eager seekers and givers of bribes, etc. Let's not pretend that any random selection of Nigerians picked off the street would behave any better than the current lot if given power.

Re: Masses Responsible For Nigeria's Problems - Solomon Dalung by vedaxcool(m): 8:27am On Jun 17, 2017
Dalung didn't say the masses are the cause of Nigeria's problem I was at the event, the accursed blog should at least quote his entire statement instead. His speech was about tolerance not the cause of Nigeria's problem and he said the elite can easily sit on the table and discourse tolerance but there was a need to encourage everybody especially the masses to sit side by side and talk about tolerance abd harmonious living. Bloggers must eat by lies and crook.

So much disappointment your post is. As long as dishonest people like you raise the likes of Cowu a bigot, tribalist and purveyor of hate to the high heavens and your leaders kiss his feet then your sanctimonious posture is of little value.

Education should at least have a value in your thinking. ... how does change begins with me and what Dalung say have any equivalence? Change should begin with you seeing how much of a poor thinker you are and the use of lies seems normal to you.
