What could lead to increased HR in a foetus?

Increased baby activity.
Infection or fever in the mother.
Placenta abruption/bleeding.
Baby playing with the placenta or unknown factors.
Dehydration.

When you are faced with this type of situation, lie quietly on your left side and take more fluid both orally and intravenous and be recheck the HR every 10 to 20 minutes. After which an US scan may be necessary to be sure that everything is ok with the baby.

My hospital didn't tell me anything abt d rota virus,i only heard it frm sum1

Some people don't take it cuz it's not free and some hospitals that don't have it don't mention it but it's important, heard the rotavirus causes diarrhea and vomiting, just trying to spare my baby that if I can.

Got it at my hospital for 9k, you can mention your area here and mamas close to there would suggest hospitals around you that give it.

My baby is 2 months old and only clothes labelled 6-9 months fit, if you are buying clothes please buy very few labelled below 6 months.

Maybe you bought mostly wrong sized clothes.
Some clothes are made in China but they pass it off as US/UK . Some clothes don't stretch and when they do, they don't go back to shape.
China dress/shoe size are also very small.... Very.

I sell sleepsuits and even when I buy different brands of newborn size, some are always waaaayyyy bigger than the rest so much that the are the actual 3-6m size of another brand.
Atinuke is almost 2, she wears a size 6m carters bodysuits. It's not big on her, it's more like snug. She's been wearing it for close to 3 months now. She has another set of 12m US George long-sleeved bodysuits and we have to roll the hand all the time. She has an 18m Next UK bodysuits that is just the right fit. She has 3m shorts she wears without diapers and she has 12m shorts when wears with diapers.
But then Atinuke is small.... But other kids that are even bigger than her wear a range of sizes.
The bodysuit she wore in the pic where she's trying to jump out of the window is actually 6/9m
For Moyo, we were in a hurry to wear all our big boy clothes and we hurried through them... Only for him to be round 12m and I checked his 6m shorts on him looking quite snug..... Oya sharperly wear it.
Baby will lose fat soon and all these clothes can still be revisited. Only the sleepsuits are exceptions cos it's height related.




I'm not saying this cos I sell clothes.... If you look through my previous posts, you'll see I've always been one to advocate for clothes looking snug and fit on babies.
Funny enough most second or more time moms buy mainly newborn sizes...

In other news, this is like the 3rd week running and no FoodieSaturday.....

sorry mama. can u identity d cause or wat triggers it? hope u're nt stressed. wchever way, try resting in a comfortable position; preferably on ur left side with a pillow between your knees to reduce the strain on your pelvis and lower back. u can also use a hot/cold compress on it for 15-20 mins. hope u don't bend ur back too, train to bend ur knees instead

earlier during my appointment at the antenatal at the general hospital on may 31st , i was to b booked for CS at 38 weeks but i told d doc that since av not fallen into labour that i stil av 2 weeks grace at least besidez i nid to arrange for funds. i was told to do scan and bring it along when coming bak for the CS. i dodged and was given appointment for the following week


then on sunday 4th june evening i started feeling wet and slimy btw my laps only to check and saw bloody mucus. the contractions werent consistent but was coming and going.i felt happy since my ANT was d nxt day.

the next appointment which on on the 5th of june. i told d doc i had show and he checked and told me my cervix is closed and am in labour but not strong yet but he had to admit me.hw told me to go and bring my bag . i promised coming bak but i intended waiting til my labor was strong.


by night of dat same day my contractions was strong and painful .i couldnt hold d pains again.i had to go to the hospital immediately.


when i got to the d hospital, i was admitted and left to see if my labour wil sharpen but alas! my cervix was stil closed as at tuesday with serious painful contractions.d docs then that attended to me came around and started talking that av already bin booked for CS but i kept dodging.that my cervix bin closed is not a good.sign dat labour is progressing immediately i was told to get prepared for CS dat same day.

i didnt argue coz the pain was very serious. i was wheeleed into d theatre around 5:30pm on tuesday evening which didnt take more than 20 minutes.

my son was brought out and he was fed wit formula coz i was stil unconscious from d surgery .not long after transferring me to d recovery ward i started bleeding seriously which had to b stopped wit oxytocin evry one hr . i was resuscitated but weak.


gradually am getting better and am joyful seeing my son alive and being alive.tanks so much for all your prayers and assistance.God bless u all

Where shd I start from sef? Let me start from how I got married in Nov,2012.TTC for 9mths(though medically, it was due to irregular menstruation so my ovulation period was monitored),to the glory of God,I conceived and gave birth thru cs to my first daughter in 2014.Last year April,my ovulation was monitored again but when the egg was released,my hubby wasn't around so the process failed.I didn't do anything again but surprisingly I discovered dat I was pregnant in oct(I didn't menstruate as at that time o),menstruation seized for three mths then.I thank God for smooth pregnancy period,my doctor said I can try vagina delivery after one cs,at my 39weeks plus appointment, my bp has increased to 150/100,they said I shd wait for one more week dat if the bp is still high dat dey won't have option than to do cs,so on Monday,5th June,I went for appointment at 40+ weeks,my bp was 140/90.Doctor did VE for me,he said cervix closed,everywhere tight so he concluded dat I have to do cs dat day or latest the next day.He said if I want to try VD,my labour ought to be spontaneous but since no spontaneous labour,high bp&getting overdue he ask me to call hubby which I did in front of him,I gave the phone to my doc to explain to him,we concluded that I shd be admitted that night,5th in oda to do cs early on 6th,Tuesday.To the glory of God,the surgery was a success,started around 10am.If I didn't tell pple,they won't know dat I did cs,this one is better than the previous one.The naming ceremony was done on Tuesday,she is Ebunolwa(Gift of God). cc:tiwatopebam

good evening all,I have been a silent follower;am 35weeks gone and I was placed on Augumentin 626mg cos of urine infection. Am so scared to take it.

Hmmm. Finally I was able to post something.
Points to note:
1. This is not the regular consultatant I see on my ANC days.
2. My pregnancy is not a high risk one.
3. I have nothing against CS when it's very necessary. I just followed my instinct, asked questions and did my own research.
4. I was about 36w+5 preg.
5. This is my 4th pregnancy.

The baby's heart rate is one of the routine checks carried out by the doctor on each visit.
Usually during the third trimester, the normal HR is 120 to 160. Sometimes it can shoot up to 180 to 220. As long as it fluctuates btw the normal range and the high range and stabilizes within the normal range after some minutes, the doctor may not be worried.
If it remains within d high range, it could be a sign of distress or a cardiac issue with the foetus.
Any HR below d normal range is dangerous and could lead to brain damage or death of the baby. Most times the mother will need oxygen support and immediate evacuation of the baby.

Thank God for you teamie, we shall carry to term and have complication free deliveries.

-support your back with a pillow when you're going to bed. With pillows between your thighs too.
- good posture is very important. Walk tall and sit up. Don't slouch cos I understand that the heavy belly might want to pull you out.
- get a footstool. While washing dishes or cooking, raise one foot up. It puts less pressure on your back up.
- try to avoid bending to pick things up. Instead squat to pick things up. It will seem hard but it's better for your back.

I noticed this, esp with the clothes I bought at the market. The 0-3 months didn't even fit well at birth. But then even with the ones I'm sure of their origin, babies grow so fast in the first few weeks that they still outgrow them too soon.
