I guess once the application is still in process you should give it some time. Yes, you will need their email containing the medical examination instructions (IMM1017) which you have to present to the panel physician. Moreover if they had issues they would have informed you via mail...(which sometimes is not the case though). Wait patiently like we all are. Thanks Kowalskiq: |

Osemigho: I was refused a US visa in 2005 even though my dad was the principal applicant. So I explained to CIC telling them I wasnt the principal applicant then and because I was just 13 years old then, I didnt know the implication was that the refusal affected me too cause my dad included the whole family when he was applying. |

MRtristan: Hello boss, I really do not know if they contact employers or not but i believe if you have a well put application, you will get your trv approved, by God's grace. Also, you are a data analyst now and you have a comp sci degree, mehn going for computer software might limit you(my opinion though)... Why not apply for masters in data science(That gives a perfect combo of comp science and data analysis)or even masters in comp science (then focus on software engineering or data mining/analysis), you wont even have to worry about too much grammar in your sop. Take for example, I have a bsc mathematics, msc comp science and now going for phd comp sci (IOT Specialization)... they are all linked because mathematics is the basic prerequisite for my specialization. Just take your time to do a thorough search and patiently select that which will give you more access to both admission and trv... Just my opinion though. Warm Regards, Mazi 3 Likes |

Douglaseguakun:Why do you want to disregard your first degree tho? It even puts more stress on you cos you have to justify what you were doing during those years you were in uni studying. I'll say look for a masters or postgraduate certificate admission. Masters preferably if you finished with a second class upper. You stand a better chance of getting your visa with that. 2. As long as you get married before you apply for your study permit and you financially capable using the CIC requirement, you are good to go. It's better to get your own visa first tho before she applies for her own. |

bluegirl080115: Madam u need to calm down sometimes, someone who wants to apply for BSc nursing what would be the relevance of a BSc in computer science when he applies to he's proposed school in Canada. By now its no news that when he wants to apply for he's trv he would state all he has been doing before he's application. So there's no way he's gonna hide the fact that he has a 1st degree. 2 Likes |

glam4444: Thanks Bro, LightandDarkness:Yes, it does.. What does it mean? Good or bad Shonky:Bro, At bolded, what of those that did Upfront Medicals, how did the go about it, without receiving any email from IRCC. Or did the print out IMM1017, from IRCC website? I took my time to apply for this Study visa, I read vast about it, and I consulted with many gurus, and I received helped from someone very helpful, the same person that assisted me in getting admission, he was also the person that told me not to do Upfront Medicals, I didn't argue with him... Anyways at the end of day, as the Bible says "So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy" 3 Likes |

bluegirl080115:hmmmmn well to be honest i was shocked to see this reply, nevertheless i'll let it slide...as they say, a beggar has no choice and in this case i begged for advice if i had fraudulent intentions, i wouldnt even spell it out in a forum the way i did the reason am shunning my degree is because i do not intend to continue with the computer stuff.....and again knowing the viability of health science related courses now it wouldnt be a bad thing to try to switch carrier now that i still have little chance to if i have decided to shun a degree course i spent four years in getting, thats a decision i thought through severally bfor i finally made up my mind and there was no atom of fraud in my mind.......and again, i havent even applied for the admission,i have done nothing regarding this and that was why i came here first to see how possible it may be to try to change carrier like that.....thanks alot 7 Likes |

maziude: My Chairman, Thanks i really appreciate, like u said i have been doing some research on the school (Lambton), i realised they have Cloud Computing for big data which is basically 80% of what i do at work, but its Graduate Studies not Msc and i graduated 2014 First Class Comp Sci British degree, did my NYSC 1 Year and got my present job as data analyst around July 2015...i'm i good to go with my visa application with a pgd offer in Cloud Computing. Douglaseguakun: (1) Is it doable? Yes (by being truthful from application for admission to trv application). Is it possible to get it? Yes... Will it be difficult ? Yes, extremely difficult. You have to be sure that nursing is what you want, not just because of travelling but because it is going to be worth your while. While applying, you have to include your total education history without leaving anything out and explain your reason for this career switch. (2)Apply alone, if you get the trv, your wife can apply for a SOWP later. Applying with her especially when you guys are newly married might lead to refusal of your trv. Applying alone gives you a kinda hometie. (3)As a side note, since you have a.bsc in.statistics/comp sci...why not apply for a masters in statistical machine learning? It is a combination of statistics, computer science and certain aspect of medicine(depending on where you choose to focus on). Well thats my opinion... Bosses @Austinpee4, wealth360 and my ogas them, what do you guys think? 3 Likes |

I understand you just go there with your passport and pay for the medical exam. They will give you a doc showing that u have done it, and then they will email the results to CIC. You will also receive an email notification from them that your results have been sent a few days after the exam. Kowalskiq: 1 Like |

MRtristan: I totally get your point boss. Yea, you can. Have you checked other unis that have a more robust program im comp sci with possible research interests in cloud computing/big data? I am saying this because, it will be worth the while to go for a full msc especially with your qualification rather than get denied by the VO for "purpose of visit". No vex, I just dey try talk wetin me I go do . That said, if you.present a thorough application, you should get your trv. 1 Like |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by PureRuby: 11:20am On Jun 22, 2017 |
Douglaseguakun: Hi bro, Please apply for masters in your bsc program and once you get admitted, apply for your trv without including your family. Your wife can join you under SOWP. You can switch to bsc program in nursing in the premises that you can no longer cope with prog and other legible reasons you can give. When you switch to bsc, you can then apply for study permit extension. I have a friend whi couldn't cope with the msc prog as he bsc in Nigeria didn't adequately prepare her to face the hurdle of msc in Canny and she eventually switched to bsc. SO, IT IS POSSIBLE, but to avoid story that touches, get your trv first with a masters program. Best wishes. 2 Likes |
