MRtristan: I hope you are truly rich to afford PGD fees and upkeep. If not, you have enough GPA to get full funding/scholarship, but may have to wait till next year. If you truly can't afford fees and upkeep, I 100% advise you wait, strategize and apply for master program that will give you 100% scholarship. You have struggle to get a first class. Don't have that and still suffer because of you're impatient. All the best. 1 Like |

maziude:I think exactly what you think and thes would have been my sentiments too. one other thing to note @douglaseguakun is that your AGE is going to play a major role in both being admitted for a bsc program and applying for a study permit with a bsc program. So like most people have advised, get your study permit using a master degree and when you get to canada, you will have opportunities to study and do what you so desire. |

Austinpee4: If you insist on applying for a bachelor's degree in Canada even though you have one already in Nigeria, be prepared with a cogent and persuasive reason to provide to the school and VO. Many people do this, this is not entirely foreign. It wont mean you have to spend another four years of school to get the second degree. Two more years of studying will get you a second degree in the area of study with the basic prerequisite to go on to the nursing program graduate studies you desire. This is a totally thought out and reasonable proposition you have. Nursing is a very attractive field of study. You should explain this career change to the VO. Perhaps you might explain that a death in the family or the permanent incapacitation of a family member(s) or friend(s) gave you new appreciation for the field of nursing. Go with your guts if you really want to go for a second bachelors. Schools are very cognizant of that. I graduated from university in the United States at 26 years old. There was a 78 year old woman in my class who was our valedictorian and the chosen commencement speaker for our class. Apparently, when we were spending our time playing, this woman understood the value of education and studied her heart out to get better grades than us. Age is no factor in the admission process, except you going to a military school-- in keeping faith with the Canadian government's anti discrimination policy. I do not know how age will play out with a VO once any lacuna period or gaps in education are well documented and sufficient home ties are shown. I think you can totally sail through this, have no fear!! Good thing you asking a year ahead, gives you time to strategize. 5 Likes |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by jnyuwa02: 1:23pm On Jun 22, 2017 |
McOsheBaba: 13 weeks average processing time in Nigeria. You are most probably not going to make it. But apply and if you don't make it, defer the admission to winter, spring or fall. Good luck |

that girl/lady that called her self, ''blueicegirl'' should know that a forum like this is not a kids-zone as long as VISA is involved here.we don't want unverified information or assumptions but reasonable input in reasonable light. People no long sleep well because of the unexpected delay from CIC in responding to them and you storm in from an unknown angle to chip in unreasonable input to troubled minds. i miss this intellectual bodies on here, (gurus) @yemdogg and @MichV(trv doctor). where are they? 10 Likes |

Yomalicious: If she changes to marketing, she might be seen as trying to game the system. Doesn't matter usually what you state as your tuition, the VO usually can see that in the school documentations provided for applying for visa. Explain convincingly career change with a well crafted SOP might be better. |

Cboss:as long as you live in Nigeria please do it. its part of the requirement. as for @Mazuide he applied from China and it may not be a requirement for him. but if you reside here for almost or more than 5years please do it. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by Nobody: 1:45pm On Jun 22, 2017 |
jnyuwa02:biko..the well crafted SOP does no magic when things are not in reasonable light. getting another admission in line with her profession/job duties/role will remedy the situation, simple!!! SOP DOES NOT DO MAGIC IF THINGS ARE NOT IN PROPORTION. |

So sometime in July I will be headed. You guys should not start flooding Cameroun when I become successful ooo. Hahaha. As the African maxim one says, where one dances and gets given money, another one may dance and get the beating of a lifetime. Hahaha. But for real, good luck to everyone. May God see us all through. Question, I live in Jos, Plateau State. Where and how can I get a police clearance or reference? Can I get it at any police station or a specific one. Second question, trying to change land papers and get a deed in my name, from my mother's name. How is this done? Just trying to show home times. Or will also suffice if I left it in my mother's name. Mother not my sponsor, school in Canada is. Thanks in anticipation. 1 Like |
