iWasNotHere: A friend of mine in Estonia, a graduating Masters students said we should individually write (separately) to the schools using the same complaint format. He said as far as the schools are concerned, people have been coming over the years and still coming. But since things are different this year, we need to shout to them via emails. If we can also do anything collectively, it will be nice. He said he too would also talk to them. He actually thought I was the only one in Nigeria not able to get visa. He never took my complaint serious. I have been writing to them for three days now. |

Miles300: TRP to citizens of non EU countries |
Re: Lets Talk About Estonia by Femirates: 7:16pm On Jun 23, 2017 |
gee4real: TRP is TRP it does not matter what you are going as either as a student or spouse to someone there. The categorization is citizens of EU and non EU countries. |
Re: Lets Talk About Estonia by Femirates: 7:21pm On Jun 23, 2017 |
Miles300: permanent residence is a whole different thing entirely.....its talking about TRP from citizens of Non EU countries. |
Re: Lets Talk About Estonia by Femirates: 7:29pm On Jun 23, 2017 |
Suplexx: what are you saying.....if by june 1, 854 has been issued and you say that does not in anyway show they have excess applicants. i got my visa on may 28, my frd got his june 12 and the serial numbers shows 63 was issued just between that dates. please what does that mean. |
Re: Lets Talk About Estonia by hybeenoni: 7:43pm On Jun 23, 2017 |
Femirates: @ femirates in as much as statistics shows rate of issuing visa is high, it still doesn't mean applicants frm Non EU Nations won't get even with remaining slots, I'm very sure most of those visa issued by issued to workers and this is the period that students apply abi Estonia dey do summer application ni? |
Re: Lets Talk About Estonia by Femirates: 7:49pm On Jun 23, 2017 |
Suplexx: the school clearly states that it wont for any reason resend a certification of enrollment if for any reason an applicant cannot make it there. the schools arent responsible for visa and they can never do anything about it. What has a school in Estonia got to do with Egyptian embassy or India embassy...all the school is responsible for is to give a document that truly you have admission. thats all |
Re: Lets Talk About Estonia by Femirates: 7:52pm On Jun 23, 2017 |
hybeenoni: this is the period people apply like you rightly said but mind you applications have multiplied immensely. no matter what, they can never exceed the 1317 TRP to non EU applicants. And saying most are issued to workers, i disagree. The point is there was a massive increase in applications. Non EU coutries comprises people from Nigeria, India, Bangladesh and a host of many others. |

men l truly don't understand your argument, if there's anything you're not sure of why not Google it,to shed more light on your argument check this link, www.vm.ee/en/newsletter. If l am not mistaking the last paragraph of the page says the policy does not include people coming for research and purpose of study. and l guess TRP is different from WP and RP,, temporary residents permits is for purpose of study and research, while working permit and permanent resident permit, are issue to workers and EU citizens. knowledge,we need not perish for lack of it. There has been a lot of misleading post on this forum, this is the reason we are facing problem with our processing now, The music of India is the best route, Egypt is a no go area, is what landed us in this problem now. let's research and make this forum more educative instead of making it scary. Let's do more of brainstorming than putting fear in people, let's have a constructive idea on the way forward. we are all aspiring to be successful, and we shall by God grace. 3 Likes |

Femirates: God bless you for this contribution. Sincerely, school doesn't have business with any of the embassies here, the best they've done was to have addressed the admission letter to them. They even said it in the COE mail that embassy shd appeal to them directly should they need clarification. It was stated in the mail that it shd be printed and taken along to embassy. At this point, it will be a good thing if the school can send a representative to Nigeria to clear all applicants this would enable all to channel applications to one embassy. I remember this one done by one university in Ukraine years ago when my Bro got admitted n they all got their visa. Lets keep trying or if there's a good writer here, you can write to school on behalf of all applicants though I once gave them this suggestion but no response till date. Lets hope they are bringing their embassy to Nigeria soon. Wish you all d best in this struggling of life 1 Like |

Muzzbaba: its not about negativity. getting an info doesnt mean you must make your decision on it. you will also make your research and if its not so...come back and prove the person wrong with evidence. We are not the one issuing visa in any embassy, so our negativity{as you call it} isnt a factor to consider. we dont have to say things you want to hear just not to be negative. 1 Like |

gee4real: from police and border guard Residence permit 06/23/2017 The issue of residence permits to the third country nationals and persons with undetermined citizenship is regulated by the Aliens Act. For submitting the application in the Service Office you need to make a reservation. Residence permit may be temporary (validity period up to five years) or long-term. The immigration quota for 2017 is 1317. Upon the issue or extension of the residence permit an alien is issued a residence card. Residence card contains its holder’s personal data, data related to residence and work permits, photo and fingerprint images. By applying for a residence permit fingerprints are captured from applicants as of 6 years of age. In order to capture fingerprints, an applicant has to apply in person to the Service Office of a Prefecture of the Police and Border Guard Board or to foreign representation of the Republic of EstoniaFingerprints are not taken, if a person is less than 6 years of age, less than 5 years have passed from capturing fingerprints by applying for a travel document, residence permit/right of residence or residence permit card, or if permanent incapability of a person to give fingerprints has been established in advance. As a result of the amendments of the Aliens Act from 18.01.2017, aliens who have a residence permit of Estonia are no longer obliged to stay in Estonia for at least 183 days during a year. Aliens have an obligation to use a residence permit in accordance with its intended purpose and fulfil the conditions for the issue of the residence permit also during the period of its validity. As a consequence of the amendments, the obligation to register stay away from Estonia at the Police and Border Guard Board was lifted. Details of the place of residence in the Population Register of Estonia still have to be correct. |

@ Femirates I choose to disagree with you because u don't have full access to the statistics to back your claim that slots for Non EU is almost filled up. Why will a school issue admission when it knows that quotas for those students to which admission was given has been filled up? That's a folly which I sincerely doubt because these people don't anyhow like the Naija way. My advice: let's all send them a mail stating the problem and pleading to table this issue with their border force, if it's possible to designate a particular embassy to treat enquiries for Estonian visa from Nigeria. Abi shey students wey get admission for Estonia from Nigeria reach 1000 ni? |

Estonia Yes 1. Yes, in Estonia there is an immigration quota. The following persons are not included in calculating the fulfilment of the immigration quota:1) Estonians; 2) the spouse of an Estonian citizen, an Estonian a TCN, who resides in Estonia on the basis of a residence permit, to whom a residence permit is issued to settle with the spouse; 3) a minor and adult child, parent and grandparent and a ward of an Estonian citizen, an Estonian and a TCN, who resides in Estonia on the basis of a residence permit, to whom a residence permit is issued to settle with the close relative; 4) a TCN who is granted a residence permit for study; 5) a TCN who is granted residence permit for employment with the purpose of research activities on condition that the TCN has appropriate professional training and education, or as a lecturer in Estonia in an educational institution which complies with the requirements established by the legislation; 6) a TCN who is granted a residence permit for the participation in criminal proceedings; 7) a TCN to whom the issue of a residence permit is justified and who does not present a threat to the interests of Estonia and who settled in Estonia before 1 July in the year 1990 and has not left to settle in another state after the indicated deadline; a citizen of the United States of America; 9) a citizen of Japan and; 10) a TCN who has been granted the residence permit considering the fulfilment of immigration quota, and who thereafter has not left to settle in another state; 11) a TCN who has been granted a residence permit for study if he or she is applying for a residence permit on any basis; 12) an alien who has been granted a residence permit on the basis specified in point 2) or 3) if he or she is applying for a residence permit on any basis;13) an alien who is granted a residence permit for settling permanently in Estonia. 2. The maximum limit of the immigration quota is stipulated by the Aliens Act and the immigration quota for a specific year is established by a regulation of the Government of the Republic taking into account the permanent population of Estonia. The Minister of the Interior may establish a distribution of the quota for different types of residence permits or a temporal distribution of the quota. |
