Hello Guys,

I'm just joining this Forum and I see all that you do.

#WehdoneSirs and #WehdoneMas

Please I have a few questions that I'll like to ask.

1) I applied to Carleton Uni for Msc in Technology Innovation Management (TIM program) to resume Fall 2017 tho my Bsc was in Computer Science. I applied late on Mar 2nd 2017 and till now i'm yet to get a response. my status only changed to recommended for assessment as at 1st June and since then no changes. Infact i sent a mail toward the end of may and that was when my status changed. i want to know if there's anyone in my shoes with same issue? or anyone who has gone through a familiar issue?

2) please i would like to know the most recent visa requirements. please i'll be very grateful to anyone who could refer me to previous posts where i can see all the requirements.

3) Also is it advisable to do medicals upfront or wait till when one is called as i'm not based in lagos.

please no yabbing please.

thank you guys.

@damlaney

1. Yes I also applied mid March this year for MSc TIM @ Carleton. I just got my offer letter yesterday so be patient I'm sure yours is on the way.

2. Try and read up from page 1 of this recent thread for best results on requirements or if you don't really have the time read up a few pages from page 1.

3. Upfront is advisable if you are applying for Fall this year as it's already less than the processing time (13 weeks).

All the best.

Meanwhile TheDonsenator please screenshot your CIC account status and post it here let's the status on eligibility, background check and etc

Screenshot abeg!!!

How do you know it's 20 days if this person has not even shared his profile and timeline of events. Maybe they are getting better after all if your assertions are true. Congrats!! I think my scream will be louder than this guy's if I can make it timely to school in September. If I don't, I have to wait for another year as it starts only in September.

I don't mean to scare anyone off applying for a TRV if they fit the categories I described. My point is just that getting a TRV for these categories should not be considered a slam dunk. A thoughtful, coherent, convincing, and well-prepared SOP and an application that is complementary to your educational and employment trajectory can overcome these barriers. But then you have to be honest with yourself as to if you truly can paint a logical and convincing picture to the VO; this applies to every candidate although the barrier is higher for some than others.

For example:
1. Can you justify to the VO precisely how a PGD in global business management would improve your skill-set and career trajectory (given your previous educational history and work experience)?
2. Can you explain precisely what it is about the global business management PGD program that you wouldn't be able to learn in Nigeria? This is extraordinarily important. (but don't mock Nigeria in your SOP while making this point; it will backfire if you do)
3. Can you explain precisely what plans you have on using the new skills from the PGD program in Nigeria? etc. (using specific business-related examples... provide some evidence and possibly references to show that you've done some research into the opportunities)
4. Do you have a justification for why you are going for a PGD and not as masters in management or an MBA? (saying that your grades in undergrad were bad might not be the best way to win over the VO. Think of some of the differences between a PGD and a masters, and identify how those differences may benefit you.)

There are no hard and fast rules for TRVs; VOs view each application on its own merit. This January, someone I helped (family friend) was approved for a TRV for an advanced diploma course even though he already had a BSc. One of the reasons why this application was successful was because we went above and beyond to convince the VO about his purpose of visit (in light of his previous BSc and work experience), keeping in mind that the probability of refusal was high. You can read about it here, here, here, and here.

Also, you may be able to get an MBA admission, but you'll need to do the legwork of contacting the different schools and making a case for yourself (possibly before you even apply).

@thesoj, hey bro, if I may ask, the SOP amounted to about how many pages eventually? Thanks.

Hi Sir, there are 2 things to do
Firstly, Call the hospital you had your med exam and ask them if your upfront med was forwarded to the Embassy. well I believe they would say yes
Secondly, if you have a copy of your e-med kindly scan them and send to the embassy as an email attachment. Also explain that you perform upfront medical with dates.
Trv_Nurse

I have done as you advised. But I would like to know is this a routine? Because I can still see (in the review submitted document) that I actually uploaded my upfront medical report when I applied. So I don't know why they are still asking me for medical examination

Oya come to my rescue again ooo.. first I appreciate all the help so far. I secured an admission at the college of north Atlantic to study digital animation starting September 2017. The school fees for first semester is 3300cad. Now my questions are thus
1. Since I have the 3300cad in my own account to pay, can I include myself as co sponsor for the study permit application?.

2. I don't have anyone in my family to appear as sponsor but I have people from outide. If I get their Statement of account and other document will it work to use them as sponsor and what kind of relationship can I fill in. Thanks in advance.

Na fight una dey fight, no one even get time to attend to my issue.
Apostle must hear of this.

I have been reading comments from the past 10 pages.

I can conclude that we Nigerian have the kindest hearts and very nice. It's no coincidence we have floated amongst the happiest country in the world for decades. Our only hindrance are pressures associated with Self actualization and that's really what brings out our big bite.
If you have ever seen your own pet dog fall under a trap you will understand me.

That said please my advice is that newbies on this group take time out to read from part 1 to 11 before rendering helpful advice services. I know it's out of "kindness of heart" you really want to help but you should know that not all responses hits the other party as constructive.

Reading through some participants' response, for instance Austinpee4, you can tell they have become veterans here because they took time out to build confidence of knowledge.

I am a silent observer.

Congratulations TheDonSenator
