Hello house, I must commend everyone who is making one or two contributions in this thread.I would like to suggest or point out that even when we talk about the regisration in different states I would equally suggest we talk about strategies in passing the NCLEX exam and also materials used in studying for the exam.Another thing I would like to suggest is for those who are already in the process of applying they should tell the house how they were able to make payment to the board of nursing |

Hi all, I just joined this forum and it has been quite a very inspiring, knowledgeable and insightful platform.I took my time to read from the beginning of this conversation to the last page. A big congratulations to all who have recorded successes in their various efforts of working abroad. Gracias to @Iyiman, @Endowed, @Auschris, @p406 for all the detailed information. Please I would like an advice on what to be done as regards my case. I am a registered nurse in this country, graduated in 2011, I have one year experience in a tertiary hospital(LUTH), subsequent 3years experience was at a big diagnostic centre in Lagos. I currently work as a nurse in an outpatient clinic which is not up to a year. I have intentions of working abroad,US, Canada, UK, Australia, Ireland , anyone which turns out positive. I started out with Ireland because I felt it was easier and cost effective. I wrote IELTS with LS8.5,R8.0 W6.5 and an overall band of 8.0. However for Ireland Writing requirement is 7.0, so now I can not use the result for Ireland. I currently sent my application to Avant but got a response from them that my application was rejected because I lacked the 100-bed acute nursing experience and should get one before I can apply. Please can anyone advice on what I can do. Even if I have to write another IELTS, I figure this result is too good to be wasted and want to try all available options before attempting another one. Please kindly assist with any information on what to do please. Thank you in anticipation. . N.B I would not mind information on US as well 1 Like 1 Share |

For real, I think if you read from the top to the very last page of this thread you should have gotten the answer you need... Well in your case I feel your choice should be dependent on how funded you are to go on this ride, if you eventually opt for the US, you'd have to foot the bill solely, at least to the point when you write and pass your NCLEX, the UK is quite fast and less expensive, all you need to do is pass the IELTS with a score of 7 on each module, people write IELTS as much as 5 times just to get the required cut off, your score is cool but fact still remains it doesn't meet up, so you can decide to spend 68k writing the IELTS again that's if your first attempt was the UKVI version, and if it wasn't 81,500 thereabout for the ukvi version, and have an agency take it up from there when you have the required score, With UK 1 year experience is very okay regardless of the type of health facility, for Canada Hmmm its just a no go area atleast with all the info I was able to gather from different sources. Well if you have enough money and time in your hands you can try it out. Then Australia, you also need that 7 on each module . lovelyd89: 1 Like |

beautyuche:You can choose to take the bsc route which is about 4yrs and graduate as a registered nurse, but if you decide to take the community college route this is far cheaper and you spend less time time schooling but you get an associate degree as a licensed vocational nurse or Certified Nurse aide. Houston community college is a popular choice, the CNA is 1yr while LVN is two years but LVN is a higher grade and pays more. If you didnt study nursing before you will have to take some prerequisite courses before you begin the actual program. You can check the school's website for more info 1 Like |

AjaoSandra: Very useful comment you made. However, the part in bold....hmmm. Let us be careful about the things we say online. Anyone and every one can access these things. The result is that certificates and stuff from Nigeria attracts excessive scrutiny. It is well. 2 Likes |
