Austinpee4:

I completely agree with you.

@bettylad, your application will appeal more like an economic migrant than a genuine student. Your purpose of visit will certainly be questioned. There is huge inconsistency in your profile and your outward intention of going with all your family members will not even help matters. I mean, you mentioned your husband will take care of the kids, he will be expected to be working and supporting the family while also taking care of the business back in nigeria since you will be on full time study. So his stay in canada will be assumed a temporary one or atleast not being around most of the time. Using that line will be shooting your self in the foot. Landed properties are not stronger hometies than family, they can be sold off at anytime for any reason. Family in nigeria have always been the strongest of them all even if it's just one immediate family member.

All the same, fix your purpose of visit first just like @likeababygirl and @maziude mentioned. It is the start off point.

OK , Thank you for your advice . how about I apply alongside with my husband then the kids can b with my parents in Lagos here ,how easy can the kids join me after I have traveled ? I mean getting a visa . although our intention was apply for schools for them when my admission pulls through before we apply for visas .they are age 5, 3,and 9months who ll b 1yr plus when everything finally works out.

What really do you want to know boss?

Maybe stating what you want will make people give their opinions.

Hello guys,

This is a plea or admonition or advice or etc.

Please when we eventually get our TRVs and land in Canada, I implore us all to at least focus on the study and make the work thing a secondary aspect. Do not put the cart before the horse, else yawa fit gas. Yawa in the sense that you might even forget to study, then you will get stuck.

I know say we go like hussle, especially for us newbies, please lets just keep enough to survive with this first year, the second year will always get better.

My 2 kobo...

It will end I praises for us all...

I know the school is expensive with a small classroom population. You should budget atleast C$35,000 for the MBA program plus C$10,000 living expenses.

I almost applied to the school but I didnt qualify for a MBA program.

Not a bad idea. They can join you as soon as you arrive canada. You will apply for a visiting visa for them and there is also an opportunity of changing their status within canada for schooling purposes once they are of school age or enrolled in a facility.(This is considered a reason to extend stay)

But honestly ma'am, i think you should put more energy in convincing a visa officer about your intended program. This is the first step if you even want to consider your family going with you. If your permit is not approved, all your plans to go with them might be stalled. So carefully choose a program that shows progression, addition and relevance to your current activity before you apply else you risk your application being refused for purpose of visit irrespective of your finances, hometies etc.

I drafted my cv inline with the course I'm applying for . had wanted to do study medical sociology or something related but most of the gradate courses don't ve for January session .saw a social work course but the duration is too short .just 10months

Before you even start deciding who to go with you or not just get the course right. Research then when you see options you can ask the forum. Even if the course that suits your profile is for fall 2018. My sincere advise to you is leave your hubby behind and apply with the kids. He is your sponsor and he is expected to be generating funds for you guys. He can join you later.

All the best

Seriously, you can link your app by filing all the required details. I actually followed what is obtainable here but keep getting red flag of not completing the required details such as city/place of birth, country, etc.

I decided to input all required details and voila...........it went. I did for a visitors visa though. I guess it should be applicable for study permit too.
Give it a try.

madam even if you establish all home ties in Nigeria, huge sums in both your bank account and hubby's own there is still a glaring problem in your application which is INCONSISTENCY IN CAREER!!! adhere to the advice given to you so far about this. I don't see this application you are rushing to submit successful if you don't do something about it.

I have. a question for the ogas here. I'm applying to UofOttawa and Mcgill to study a thesis-based course. I've read that one needs to get a supervisor before one can be considered for admission. My question is, is it necessary to have a research topic/proposal before contacting a potential supervisor?. We all know the way education is in Nigeria that is why I want to leave to go and study abroad. No indepth practical knowledge, as a immunologist, I have never viewed a malaria parasite under a microscope. I'm currently confused as I don't know what to do. I just need someone to give a hint on what to do regarding the aforementioned question I asked. Your little input/advice may go a long way helping me out. Thanks in advance

Try to work on your intended program as advised by the gurus in the house. Regarding your application with your hubby and the kids, in my own opinion, I think it will be fine so far you have a reasonable amount that will all cover your tuition, your living expenses as well as proof of funds to cater for your dependant's living expenses too. But its a two way thing cos your hubby will also show his SOA as proof of funds to support his and the children's living expenses as this will help your application. They will only deny you if the responsibilities is shouldered on you as a student coz cic detest when dependant's responsibilities are completely shouldered on the main applicant. when you have more than enough money then you are good to go.
Have we all forgotten that a moniker got his trv approved along with his wife and kid on 9th of june? Despite the fact that this moniker @fembas316 is on funding, he still show a reasonable mind blowing SOA to cater for his dependants. If you want to go ahead with your application as planned, you should be prepared to present a mind blowing SOA lol if not I suggest you travel with your little baby then your hubby can join you tru sowp nd kids tru visiting. You can start the processing wen u land and after getting necessary documents from ur school for dia app. But dont forget to work on ur program 1st,other plans can now follow.
My opinion smiley

They apologized for the lateness and promised to send it before Wednesday. If I don't get before then, I should call back on Wednesday. So I hope to get it today. In the meantime, I will continue with my application. I found out I can start my TRV application without the CAQ but will include my payment receipts and documents showing I have applied for it. Then nite in my SOP that it will be emailed to them as soon as I receive it. Thanks.

Hi Nogen, I contacted the CAQ guys and was told my certificate was sent to the Lagos Visa office since June 19 but that mine might take time as a result of the delays from my country's courier service. So they advised I contact the visa office for the best way forward (although she mentioned I could go ahead with my student permit application. But then she wasn't patient enough to explain how.

Do you have any idea what I could do?

State it clearly the reason please, the only reason past refusal can affect you negatively is when it is based on fraud and am sure that ain't your case.

Hello sirmicholo,

In my own case i paid an agent who applied for U.S visit 5years ago with wrong information and i was denied because i couldnt answer the V.O confidently
now am about to submit my canada study application. can i state the above as reasons for denial? can they see the infos i used on the U.S application? i am planning to tell them the truth stating (i applied for U.S visit with the assistant of an agent who gave false details and information about myself and the whole application hence the denial.) hope it wont affect my current application negatively

@Austinpee4 your professional input is required here sir

@Austinpee4 your professional input is required here sir

But the question is always; Have you been refused a visa to any country previously? Your answer should be a Yes or No. Going into details sometimes might derail the process. Saying an agent filled in false info, do you have proof backing that statement? Was it ticked that your us visa application was completed with the help of an agent?

I believe a simple ''Yes'' is all you need.

Just my thought though.

Gurus in the house, your input is needed too.
