YES but it will take a while.......
if you can get a facility of 450k-600k you can get 1/2 plot of land (around muwo/agbadarigi - Lagos axis or Lusada/atan-owode road in Agbara-Ogun side) within 1 year with serious determination, you can put a decent room and parlour self-contain around those area mentioned

With discipline nothing is impossible.

Share your salary at a percentage comfortable for you and invest in a lucrative business. Keep injecting on a monthly basis.

It's true 60k can't build a house, but extra source of income created from a salary of 60k can.

There are few investments you could do with your savings while keeping your 60k job. Take time to research and study each model, you will certainly find one you are comfortable with.

It's a big dream, but don't kill it.

That income is too much self.I'm very serious.A building expert said you can build with income of 10k.You only need determination, discipline and desire. Also don't go for luxury.A low cost place, land and simple.building.Younmustbbe consumed by the passion so much so that you may manage few clothes for years. Its worth it because it is an asset that will outlive you.talking from experience.Go ahead and God will help you.

This is a tall dream...oh yes!!you can build a small bugalow with constructive planning but it will cost u a lot of time and sacrifices. If u have job security the location would be outskirt or suburb this because u can't afford town, if u save like 30 percent or more for a reasonable time u can buy a land in cheap areas and start building gradually. This may take years but one day I will move into your own house.

Assuming you save 30,000 every month, it will take you 100 months (over 8 years) to save 3 million. which will not even be enough to buy land by then.

so NO, you can't build a house on 60k per month salary.

Wrong advise while will you go for luxurious land and place with meager income.Go for semi urban place,Ogbomoso,Osogbo,Ibadan even Ogun state all having developing areas where land goes for 200-300k and in d next 5years it may appreciate BTW 500-700k.Must everybody live in Lekki in Lagos.Mind you use the money to build in such area, you can sell it if your income has reached a level of building in Lagos.A bird at hand worth millions in the bush. Many have fantasy of building in Lagos but never did so in d village till they died.Pls start somewhere

Hey bro, I usually don't comment on threads here but on seeing the shallow comments, I just had to. In this life, anything is possible, what matters most is starting and yes, you can buy a land in Lagos, I suggest you go to places like Maya, agbowa, odogunyan in Ikorodu. Get the land first and I promise you, every other thing will come with ease, especially if you are a believing Christian. The guy who repairs my phone is leaving in his own house, let me shock you, he works in a kiosk, the guy I buy meat from is about to complete his house, I don't have a house yet but I am on the verge of buying my own land soon, I live in one of the houses built by my parents which make it easy to invest in business. I will advice you to start saving now. May the good Lord be with you.

The truth remains you can, that's if you set up a business with your savings that will fetch you more income on the long run or further your education to get a more juicy offer. The only way you can achieve this asides my previous suggestions is the present "rent to own" programme by Lagos state whereby you spread the payment of the property for a duration of 10years but you need to pay an initial deposit of 5% of the entire amount before paying your rent monthly for 10years.

you are so wrong. With 60k monthly u can build a house.

First, it will be better if u have a land or leave in a place where u can get a plot for like 300k and I know most southwest states have very cheap land with exception of Lagos.

Plan on by saving atleast 35k monthly. If most corpers can survive on 19800, u sure can.

In ten months time, 3k will give u 350k.

Use this money to secure most of the raw materials u need. Eg. Cement, sand, stones, few rods (downstairs).

Don't buy blocks. Mould them yourself by using block moulding labourers. If u leave close to a place where sand is deposited in gutters after rain, u can get few trips by harvesting the sand after rain.

Make sure u secure most of the materials first. Don't buy lots of cement to avoid solidifying unless you can preserve it well. As the work is ongoing, u can pay daily expenses of labourers on the site. if u have the materials, u can decide on when to start or pause depending on your pocket. It will also motivate you to hustle for more money to keep work in progress. Trust me, the joy of seeing your house rising will push you to achieve more than u could ve believed.

Take it a step at a time. Trust me in less than 3yrs time, ur house will be ready and u will wonder how u did it.

The greatest enemy to success is never taking a step. U can if u believe and try.

Such a project will unleash the strength and genius in you. Never underestimate your abilities. Even though u earn 60k now, u re not limited to 60k. Try and see and thank me later.

yes u can. If ure outside Lagos, u can buy 4-5 bags of cement per month, get small children to gather erosion sand for u to mould blocks. Mould between 33-40blocks per bag. Slowly u'll be on ur way. U need about 2-3000blocks for a bungalow.
Re: Can A Single Guy With Income Of #60,000 Build A House by Nobody: 8:14am On Jul 04, 2017
Yes u can.
Motivation is the key.

Next is,where u are buying ur land from.

Land prices can go as high as 50 million or so and as low as 50k. All depends on location.

Third is the type of house u want. Quality is the password here.
Some bungalows can be completed with 3 million or below while some can gulp 10m.

D fourth thing u have to put into consideration is ur builder. Will u hand over to qualified builder or do it urself type. As in u get d workers,go and buy materials urself and supervise the house. The later is good for somebody with ur type of budget.

So yes, u can actually do it.
All the best.
U will go places with the way u think.

[quote author=MrMcJay post=58100526]OP, the truth is bitter, but I'll tell you as it is.

You better get your priorities right and stop planning a life of hardship and inconvenience ahead. You earn 60K/Month and you want to build a house in Lagos? Is it dog cage you want to build? Do you even know how much a good chicken cage costs in Lagos?

You want to go and build one concrete hut inside one bush where you'll board 100 Naira bike to greet your neighbors good morning? Please, don't put your folks in solitary confinement inside the bush.

To be honest, 60K/Month is a lot of money but it's insignificant in a city like present day Lagos. Outside Lagos? Yeah! people earning less build houses.

I humbly advise that such money be better invested in building a business that gives you regular side income which in turn increases the funds available for you to build.

Also, I'll suggest you work smart and hard. Seek out new opportunities and distinguish yourself in them. That way, you'll be able to earn m wink[quote author=MrMcJay post=58100526]OP, the truth is bitter, but I'll tell you as it is.

Yes, assume your income monthly is about 20% of your present income, save the remaining 80% monthly, It will not kill you, sompp are earning 18-20k monthly and they are married.
Just Cut your expenses, leave below your income
Save 80% or save 40 of 60k monthly= 480k per year. You can buy a plot of Land for 300k and start your Foundation, alternatively, you can buy have plot of Land for 400k and start up somthing.
To achieve this, you need a fixed Account, or another Account without Atm. Just transfer the 40k into this Account monthly before doing anything, then pay your tithe from the remaining balance and meet your needs with 16k

It is possible!

It is very possible if you do the following.

1. Make sure you have food at home so you won't have to eat out.

2. Make sure you save 40k from the 60k.

3. Look for other avenue to invest your little savings.

4. Remain single, if you must date, don't date a jobless lady and she must understand your goals.

5. Make sure you pray well.
