What area us the house located?
Where my house is located doesn't really matter. What matter's is where you can afford to buy your own plot depending on your income level.

I wonder why some people think so shallow and myopic. Yes,OP u can build ur own house with 60k monthly salary and stop minding all this drunkards that thinks so shallow Some people dnt make as much as you do and today they are landlords, all you just need is the determination and drive to start something. First save and get a land and stop looking at your present state or status.I can categorically tell you that even if you make 1million monthly,if you don't have the derive to build a house, you won't. Get a land and see how things would work for you

Some of you are sweet talkers ie motivational talkers but no concrete practical steps as to how to achieve the set goal. Your objective must be SMART. Specific, measurable, achievable, realisable and finally time bound. Having this in mind I put it to you that a man earning 60k cannot build a house given other expenses and sacrifices

Assuming you save 30,000 every month, it will take you 100 months (over 8 years) to save 3 million. which will not even be enough to buy land by then.

so NO, you can't build a house on 60k per month salary.

Stop discouraging this guy pls...

30k×12=360k

with 250k this guy can get half a plot in Ogun state

every 3month his 90k can lay 300blocks on the piece of land, before you know it the house had gotten to roofing level...

its not a must he build house on the island and in Lagos...surulere was once a bush. so stop discouraging him.

The answer is yes, with determination anything is possible. My younger brother earns the same salary with you and he has bought a land and has finished the foundation. Me i earn far higher than him and i have no land. i had to struggle to get a land last month when i saw his determination and passion to succeed. Failure begins with the word impossible. I suggest you replace impossible with determination and a drive to succeed. Anything is possible. Do not let people discourage you.

With discipline nothing is impossible.

Share your salary at a percentage comfortable for you and invest in a lucrative business. Keep injecting on a monthly basis.

It's true 60k can't build a house, but extra source of income created from a salary of 60k can.

There are few investments you could do with your savings while keeping your 60k job. Take time to research and study each model, you will certainly find one you are comfortable with.

It's a big dream, but don't kill it.

You are always true to yrself. Love yr contribution here.

you are so wrong. With 60k monthly u can build a house.

First, it will be better if u have a land or leave in a place where u can get a plot for like 300k and I know most southwest states have very cheap land with exception of Lagos.

Plan on by saving atleast 35k monthly. If most corpers can survive on 19800, u sure can.

In ten months time, 3k will give u 350k.

Use this money to secure most of the raw materials u need. Eg. Cement, sand, stones, few rods (downstairs).

Don't buy blocks. Mould them yourself by using block moulding labourers. If u leave close to a place where sand is deposited in gutters after rain, u can get few trips by harvesting the sand after rain.

Make sure u secure most of the materials first. Don't buy lots of cement to avoid solidifying unless you can preserve it well. As the work is ongoing, u can pay daily expenses of labourers on the site. if u have the materials, u can decide on when to start or pause depending on your pocket. It will also motivate you to hustle for more money to keep work in progress. Trust me, the joy of seeing your house rising will push you to achieve more than u could ve believed.

Take it a step at a time. Trust me in less than 3yrs time, ur house will be ready and u will wonder how u did it.

The greatest enemy to success is never taking a step. U can if u believe and try.

Such a project will unleash the strength and genius in you. Never underestimate your abilities. Even though u earn 60k now, u re not limited to 60k. Try and see and thank me later.

cool

Nowhere in Lagos but he can have a house in Ogun and hustle in Lagos..

I mean he can rent it out and get and apartment for himself here in Lagos.. That house alone at his age is a big asset for him tomorrow.

Why can't he? Please why? Let's be fervent here,he never stated that he wants a house as big has that of BUHARI or expensive as that of Messi but he wants something he can put is head on and also comfortable. I was at my early 20's when I got my first land and the money was from the little salary I saved from my work then( 6 years ago). I was earning 25plus then so what are you saying!! Everything that he needs is just that determination. If at that my tender age I could get a land, why can't he?I am sure if I had came to Nairaland then to ask if I can get a land with an income if 25 plus you would be one of those to discourage me and say its not possible...

My cousin earns 50k per month, married with 2 kids. In two weeks time, he is packing to his two bedroom flats with a room self contain, which he started building in 2014. Although, the house is small, but cute. It is simply determination and discipline on spendings. Above all, with an understanding and supportive wife (for the married) and God's power, it is possible.

see a view of the house below:

Don't mind them, my landlord a school teacher built two storey buildings with his little income and trained all his eight children to the university level. He shared the secret with me. He said that if he got money for two bags of cements today ,he would go there and mould it. He did that untill he finished everything.

You can do it if you think outside Lagos. Ogun state is the best bet.

You can still get a land in some areas for 210k( if you can save 30k for 7 months ) save for another 3 months to get the necessary documentations.

Every 3 months i assure you with 90k you can do some thing on that land. and in few years you are homeowner. Let the building be modest i.e two bedrooms.

Don't be discouraged, start saving today. Join those office co-operatives they help a lot.

it is very possible for you to build a house if you are able to save between 20-30K a month. you just need to get half plot of land between 120-150k in Ikorodu area. please make sure that the land is not a swampy or waterlogged area. you should plan to build a house BTW mini flat and 2 bedroom flat and the rooms should not be too build because the more the space the more the money you will spend in building the apartment.
after acquiring the land rest a little and save some money for the foundation pls note don't buy ready made or fabricated blocks instead buy a trip of sharp sand and mould blocks with this you are saving cost also a BTW 5-10tons of granite or gravel for the foundation the price of granite is high but it will make the foundation solid after you are done with the foundation rest a little and save money mould and erecting blocks then gradually you continue building the house.
please note:- make sure that you supervise or ask someone to supervise the project for you because the bricklayers are very funny they can steal your cement resale it and tell you that the cement you bought in not enough.

don't be discourage you can do it and also if you have a business you can do with the money you can buy the land, do the foundation and leave it provided the land is secured from omo oniles then start a business and use the proceed from the business to continue building the house.
