UG too... Well to your question the main goal is to get a good and certified degree. If we were to live by cities people wudnt even school these days, and by the way so long the school is accredited and a certified learning institution, i feel there's no cause to worry about, but in the end Its your choice and decision sir! Goodluck !!

Thank you bro. Can we talk on WhatsApp? smiley

Thanks.. Just curious what don't you like about lagos airport?

Too crowdy [you may even need to settle somebody to avoid line during check in], plenty criminals lurking around, they can still from your box.

But the question is always; Have you been refused a visa to any country previously? Your answer should be a Yes or No. Going into details sometimes might derail the process. Saying an agent filled in false info, do you have proof backing that statement? Was it ticked that your us visa application was completed with the help of an agent?

I believe a simple ''Yes'' is all you need.

Just my thought though.

Gurus in the house, your input is needed too.

Warm Regards

@DereI,
thanks for your response but if you have filled the form before u should know that if you have thicked yes you will have to explain your yes below. My question now is what is the best way to explain the situation

Haba it's not that bad. Yes there is always queue but as Nigerians, we are used to queue. Get there early enough 3 hours before your flight and no shaking, you won't have to settle anyone. Once you check in your luggage it's safe but always use a padlock, regardless of whichever airport you're in you should watch your bag anyway, always people who want to take advantage. Whatever is convenient for you is what you should go for Canadian Nurse.

Really? shocked shocked
I agree that Abuja is not as crowdy as lagos, but criminals lurking about is not peculiar to lagos but in all international airports world wide. For any international travel, its generally advised to arrive at least 4 hours to your departure time, so that you can aviods queues, weigh your luggages and check in on time . Once you are through with check in, you are free, just go to the security check in point to corss over to the boarding gate area and wait for your flight. As for me, most times, when we have finished checking in, my family always go to any food kisok to relax till like 1.5 hours to boarding, so that we then go through the security check and stroll to our gates, before long maximum 20 mins (unless the flight departure is delayed0, boarding would start and we would begin our journey.

For me, Lagos is a good training point for any novice traveler. People have lost their goods/bags in UK/Amsterdam/USA etc if they don't keep a sharp eye on their property. That settlement thing is because we Nigerians are always in a hurry. Beyond the customs people, who start asking you for money right from check in area while examining your bags, any other prson asking for tip is just taking advantage of you. Get there early, queue up and follow the process. As for me, I don't give them anything.

Just my 2 cents. cool

canadian VOs don't understand career change. They are acting on the rules and regulations set out in assessing applications. Any glaring mediocre makes their work easier by rejecting it. I stand and advocate against any form of strong/compelling SOP my foot whenever there are INCONSISTENCIES as long as CANADA is involved
I don't agree with the black-and-white nature of this post. No candidate is the same. It is possible to convince the VO of a career change if the candidate has a compelling reasons to do so, particularly if said reasons are corroborated with a lot of evidence (e.g. volunteer activities, or unpaid freelance work, or credible personal research with citations showing deep knowledge about the new field, etc).

Having said that, I agree that a change in career should not be taken lightly when it comes to applying for a TRV. If you read back to Parts 5-12, you will see that several candidates have done so successfully. Having said this, I would suggest that only applicants with well thought-out reasons (with corroborating evidence) for changing career paths to do so.

hello tommee, take it from one who has been denied visa 3 times before, just state the truth. Most times the visa is denied for wrong information or incomplete information.Unless you used an agent who filled in wrong information and you didn't tick yes to the question of using agent, then you would have a problem. However, truth always trump the day, so keep your hopes up and let us know how it ends.

Hello guys! Please i need your help on this...

After my study permit refusal in JAnuary 2017, I asked the school to refund my fees of 7545.05CAD which they processed and as at April 7, i got the wire trasfer receipt from them that the refund (5526.06CAD) has been made which my bank(Ecobank) confirmed.
Now, since April till now(July) i was told that cbn has not given them(Ecobank) the naira equivalent. I just ended a call with a staff at ecobank head office that cbn has gven them the naira eqivalent and my account would be creditted tomorrow.

NB: I paid the 7545.05CAD to the school in April, 2016 which was about 1.2m

Now i was told the my account would be credited ONE MILLION AND SEVENTY SEVEN THOUSAND NAIRA.

My question is... is the current exchange rate not supposed to affect the amount to be credited? because the staff that is helping me monitor the process said that the dollar rate cbn gave them is 196.

please how true is this? is there any cbn or ecobank email address i can confirm this?

I paid my fees via form A through Ecobank and they charged N267/C$. They should refund you same. Unless, as at the time you made your payment, C$ was N196/C$, then you would be refunded same.

My goodness!!!

Bro stop with your bickering and ill-informed posts, you are talking about things you have no experience of. People you see giving advice here are not just dishing it out for the sake of creating a post, they do it because they have an idea of how it works or have been through same situation in the past.

The lady in question asked the house for recommendations and the house is helping her out by sharing thoughts with her, you Mr. Man didn't say anything until you saw others sharing their thoughts, then you went on tackling every post on the subject matter...

There's this aura of dissent that you exude whenever you make a contribution, you want to always rub it on people's face that you know better, come on stop with your attitude, this is Nigeria, you are no longer in the US , learn to keep quiet when you have no experience whatsoever on the subject matter, and learn to respect people because the gurus you see here today have been around for over 2 years now and will be around in more years to come, but I am certain that you won't even remember this thread by September this year should you get your visa approved

Be humble... sit down

I think this post of yours is excessively belligerent. More opinions provide an opportunity to refine each other's views and also to learn from or intellectually challenge one another (in an amicable way). If you don't agree with someone, you don't need to insult him/her. Let him express his opinion even if you disagree, the best you can do is make your points and let the thinking reader decide who is making more sense. Or better yet, a good natured debate will inspire the thinking reader to do more research for himself/herself.

The attitude of "I know more than you, therefore sit down" demonstrated in your post above is exactly what we as Nigerians need to do less of if we want to have a flying chance -- as individuals or as a country -- of succeeding in a world that chiefly thrives off of analytical thinkers, good communicators, and leaders worth following.

Cheers.

Were you given a reason for your denial at the embassy on the day of your interview? If no, you could simply say so.
