Well that's over now as United have confirmed agreeing fee, Pogba posts a video on IG with # agentP. Let's begin to move to other positions that need strengthening badly...

For all those criticizing him and United fans not convinced by him. Food for thought. How much was Higuain to Juve at 29?
How much is belloti's release clause?
How much was Madrid doing strong head for for a player warming their bench on a steady basis?
How much is being mentioned on Aubameyang that nobody is even showing interest in?
How much would Kane cost?
List the number of homegrown Bpl players that have Lukaku's record and tell me how much you think they will cost in a market where Pickford and Keane are going for £30million. Let's not forget, it is the same window Arsenal and Liverpool have already broken their transfer records, with Chelsea likely to follow with a £150 million bid for Yakubu Aiyebeni and possible City with Sanchez.
As far as I'm concerned I'm indifferent about this transfer. I'm more interested in the midfield and right wing position. We need more people that can contribute to goals or create space for our strikers to function effectively.

I'm eagerly waiting to read what Afrodoc2, Elampiro and AdisaOwala have to say about this Lukaku signing. embarassed

He is not the kind of signing you would go and have a big party. Like when Suarez went to Barca. He is not a technical footballer.

But he is what we need in our attack. Someone to put the ball into the net. In this regard he is ahead of Morata and even Griezmann. He is established in the EPL. He is a first team player while Morata is a squad (bench) player. A first team player is always better than a squad player.

Lest I forget, Lukaku has the pace to finish up a one vs one without being caught up by a chasing defender. He has the strength for hold up play and can jump to head in goals.

Based on current scoring form in the top leagues, only Aubameyang could have been a better buy for that position.

The only thing is to see how he would cope when small teams just park the bus against us. He might not have the big space in attacking zone he had while in Everton.

I think we have shifted our attention to James Rodriguez. The player is said to have rejected AC Milan in favor of a move to manutd. And he wants the number 10 shirt. Lukaku to wear #9

We don't need him

I do feel a little bit that we're missing a trick because our biggest issue is other players getting goals. We need someone else that'll get 10-15 which I don't really see unless Martial really hits again.

We will get them. I am happy this puts Matic's transfer in doubt. I don't want that tortoise. Also glad the Perisic deal looks unlikely with Inter looking stable financially having sold a good number of players and would want to keep what they have. I am sure we will get the right people for those positions and the club has shown with its dealings with Madrid this season, that it will move on if any transfer drags on too long. Really impressed with the way we are beginning to behave as a club. I hope all this Fvck you's in the transfer window turn to Fvck you's on the pitch.

Exactly my thoughts and one of our major problems last season. We need goals from every position of the pitch; defence, midfield and attack. Pogba, Miki, Martial and co should seriously step up.

2 CM n a RW needed to conclude this transfer window

No we are not. None of our attackers has ever been a top forward that's delivered goals consistently in their career. None! Look at all the good teams in Europe, they all have one person who is skilled at this. Even Monaco with their Mbappe have Falcao. Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool all have recognizable forwards that we know can score if fit (See Sturrige). Only United is the team i know that doesn't even have a recognized CF and one who just scores. Ibrahimovic has left now and that leaves us dry in that area so its important others get the confidence of having a sure goal scorer around to also uplift them in joining in although i for one believed Ibrahimovic although scoring for us was also letting his leadership ability get in the way too and sort of hindering the way others contributed in the scoring aspect. Obvious from how he won't let anyone take free kicks yet kept hitting the wall while Pogba was always close. Even Rashford scored when he wasn't around. It's good the squad is relatively full of young developing attacking players and a young striker with BPL experience and a blend of old matured guys in Miki, Mata, Carrick. They are all going to blossom as they keep improving. Those goals will come, the chemistry has improved and i believe goals will come every part of the pitch this new season.

Nice dig at em Shkpe fans. They don't know it yet, but Aiyegbeni will further their cause more than Costa, or even Morata grin 150 million can do woners.

Guys are divided over Lukaku because we know his strengths and weaknesses. He's pacy but his touches are worse than a serial rapist's.

Furthermore, we've never had a striker like him before. I don't think SAF would bid for him because he doesn't play the jambody type of football. The reason we're getting him is Mourinho. That's why Fellaini surprisingly starts ahead of Carrick in some games last season.

Since we don buy him, wetin man go do? Can't stop supporting the club because of a rogue manager, his tactics, and his jambody striker. Best to be on sidonLook mode and pray things gel well. Yeah, and also piss in someone's face.

I agree Mourinho's football is really anti-united. But Truth of the fact is, that our United was the United Ferguson built, which was quite different from those before him and after him, so we got to get used to the times as fans of old before Fergie did. Moyes tried his with his long ball from defense to attack style, got sacked 10 months in. Van Gaal tried the snoozefest tap con I tap give you style, got sacked in the most sadistic way. Mourinho is the only one with a slight tint of Ferguson's style so i can't feel too bad despite the jambody football we know him for. Many united fans and i am sure you too will not want Pep now considering he's the only one closest to giving us our style but going balder due to trophylessnes. All in all, make we manage the new united and stop thinking the new style is bad, it's the way forward now.

Harry Kane has won the golden boot award for the past two seasons. Tottenham didn't lift the trophy. Leicester and Chelsea won the league due to goals contributed from all sections of the team.

It's good that we're strengthening in the CF position but we really need to work more on other team members scoring goals. We created the highest number of goal chances last season and squandered most of it. After Zlatan, the next highest scorer in the league for us was Mata, and he didn't even start up to 70% of the games.

If we have two or three players hitting double digits apart from the main striker, we'll lift the trophy. Like you, I hope they blossom too, but Mou should start addressing that area of our game.

Well I'm pretty sure in our title winning seasons we've had more than one player on double figures. I never said anything about top goalscoring forwards.

Yea and i don't think we had kids who just broke into the squad or 35 year olds as strikers then. I am saying moving forward we will likely have more goals coming in from different aspects of the field now with the young guys gaining experience and and getting better. Lukaku is the perfect addition to help lift their game in that department considering he has BPL experience, pace which killed many attacks last season and has as many assist as our highest attacking assist leader. As for the striker thing i mentioned it based on the 'Ibrahimovic' figure which can easily fool players into believing he'll do it all himself and it seemed so last season.

I believe he will address that with new players and i believe more goals will come from all over the pitch now unlike last season. Don't forget the number of squandered chances by Zlatan too. I have even watched some of goals last season to see Pogba finding zlatan when someone else was available and in a better position. I am hoping that would be reduced this season.

Amen to that. I'm just tired of these players losing goals. Seriously they need to start putting it in. Mata played less minutes than Lingard, Mkhi n Martial last season but had more PL goals than they do. He's got that goal sense.

WHen in an attacking position, I found out in most cases our attackers (all of them) always just rush into the box and pray the ball finds them somehow, with most of them crowding themselves.

What happened to finding space? Beating the defender off the ball before receiving that pass or cross? These things usually happens in split seconds but the results are magnanimous.

This is an example of what needs to be addressed. Pogba and Zlats trust each other so much that Zlats would rather pass to a marked Pogba than an unmarked Lingard, and vice versa. The trust level is so low, and that's because the others are disappointing busybodies.

Their L came as a result of matching the bid. The statement of intent became too clear. Imagine ordinary common Chelsea matching a United bid when clubs like Madrid and Barca comot hand for Pogba matter that year because they felt he was too expensive. Insult!
