nemesis2u: Real poo! The West including Russia have operational anti grav platforms. You guys just need to research your Vimanas, though knowing your R& centre work rates this has already been done and very likely some prototypes are ready-which ofc you can't comment on! 1 Like |

kikuyu2: actually i have no idea about this , but the fact that PM indira gandhi (who was a very powerful person among all indian PMs) mentioned it , gives it just enough justification to gave a though about the whole thing. personally i know that one lab was working to design a anti fatigue and long endurance contraption for limbs based on the descriptions available in Mahabharata book. another fun fact do u know from the early 1970s sightings of unidentified flying objects have increased near Indian nuclear / weapon sites. whether these r American or aliens nobody knows , atleast people like me dont know . 1 Like |

jl115: Too much derailment in the thread, i had to call in the mods to clean it up a bit before we all collectively kill it off. If derailments persist, we might have to create an alternative. Different threads for each country. |

tdayof: i dont know much regarding these since it is not my area . and yes from what i know stealth technology and superconductivity is connected eg. high temperature superconductors have great potential towards realization of the various stealth technologies. meta skin is used to enable cloaking / stealth and they use superconductors (not in all cases ). high temperature superconductors can specifically be used to create cloaking /stealth applications by neutralizing the magnetic component of incident EM wave. plasma stealth technology in my opinion will need superconductor application (if not already) for better efficiency (manageable power requirements). |

Re: Technical Discussions On International Military Equipments Doctrines Tactics Etc by Nobody: 5:13am On Jul 10, 2017 |
tdayof: not me IAF uses SU30 MKI and will look to use PAKFA/FGFA as a multi role air superiority fighter. IAF trains for 2 and a half front war simultaneous (west & north) and to that end previously it ran stimulation's and wargamed them extensively to access the optimal performance and effectiveness of 1 seater and 2 seater against perceived enemy defences/assets covering very large theater of operations ie western neighbor airspace and northern neighbor airspace plus its own airspace . the airspace we r looking at is about the size of America . and it has been found that 2 seater aircraft's offers the best solution to address the threats spread over the deemed large operational theater. note these 2 seaters r for taking the war to the hostile heavily defended enemy airspace( mission/role specific). 2 seater offers advantage (mission/role specific) with respect to 1. reducing pilot fatigue during long missions 2. reduction of workload of pilot due to majority of heads down task being delegated to WSO 3. better utilization of capabilities of the aircraft via role mandated work load distribution, 4. better tasking/tailoring of mission via optimal delegation of mission related tasks (SEAD/DEAD etc) 5. best utilization of highly demanding task of air control and command post role for other aircraft's in the strike package (a SU30 MKI in a mini AWACS role can control atleast 4 other aircrafts ) 6. better situational awareness and communication outside the aircraft with both ground and air assets 6. co-pliot can be a specialist trained for highly specialist roles etc important to note IAF pilots r known to conduct flight missions of over 10 hours duration in their SU30 MKI , so u can understand the need of a co-pilot SU30 MKI / PAKFA in future will end up as missile cruisers with minimum loadout of 3 long range cruise missiles like brahmos and various high speed long range missiles presently under development etc. so 2 seaters r better positioned to handle the role. there r obvious disadvantages of 2 seaters too. mainly financial costs |

list of issues raised by IAF with regard to SE (single engine) fighters ie F16 Block 70+ and Gripen E copy paste.................. These feedback and affirmation is towards the issue cited in IAF Damning report against SE fighters of choice - F16 Block 70+ and Gripen E Few of the problems cited by IAF in their reports are as under 1.Air-frame as of today and possible refinement in future 2.Un stable nature of airframe in low altitude and high altitude missions 3.Handling in mission load configs and over reliance on system to auto correct while bleeding energy and increasing risk of take down 4.Electro Magnectic Compatibility and Interference Generation - Emission issues, high susceptibility and negligible immunity inspite of on paper solutions saying otherwise. 5.Safety Reporting System showing limited system onboard sensing 6.Size of radar offered thereby limiting the tracking zone severely (atm ~ 50-60% of what is offered by Rafale RBE2 AESA in both SEs , exact numbers cant be revealed in public). 7.BVR capability is severely limited by Radar Range, power and most importantly for mid course updates for BVR missiles like AIM and Meteor. 8.High vulnerability to hacking and very low grade / absent Anti hack suit 9.Mission loads cited with A2A carrying 4+ BVR under standard conditions where maximum AD environment is present and thus impractical. 10.Mission loads cited with A2G mission packs under standard conditions where maximum AD environment present and thus impractical. 11.Both A2A and A2G missions severely limits G performance due to energy bleed, handling issues, airframe problems, EMI susceptibility and there by Mission Survivability decreases severely in emerging environments. 12.Mission success rates are compromised and there will be a loss towards sustaining a hi tempo engagement due to attrition very quickly and which will in turn reduce overall war fighting time frame. points to be kept in mind with respect to the observations made above.................. 1.In case of F16, MOD ( ministry of defence ) is now trying with the private sector and their American counterparts to handle something about the chief issues cited above by IAF. 2.IAF also mentioned that these points are applicable for Gripen E as well based on presentation and cross questioning done by IAF panel to SAAB officials. 3.IAF will give a positive review and agreement only when these points are addressed and the systems are more or less controlled by an Indian Entity. 4.IAF cited how all these factors are part of the agreement to be under DRAL ( dassault reliance aerospace limited ) control and Indian Rafales are suitably "modified" than vanilla F3R options applicable to France. Point to be noted that IAF pointers are tough to comply and if they are complied, we will have access of unprecedented level at par with Rafale Deal. OEM shenanigans.......... MOD people are perplexed as LM folks tried hard to dissuade these points from discussion and SAAB simply asked for more time to come back and revert after discussing internally how to meet IAF requirements (in IAF words, SAAB does not have a clue what to amend and LM knows parting this much technology means LM has to walk the talk like Dassault did with the rafale deal..) my end notes : OEMs world over tries to take u for a ride ,the question is how far will u compromise. ur way or their way or a mutual compromise 1 Like |
