Please am about buying a C300 2008 or 2010 frm US,any known issues with the car? Please som1 should give me a rundown on this particular car before I make a huge mistake. Are the parts readily available? Are the parts cheap? The ride itself, how satisfactory does it serve it's owners? Please ur candid advice is needed. |

Re: Mercedes Benz Thread by TheGrandMaster: 9:01am On Jul 06, 2017 |
Although, I have lost my engine, I will still buy that ride over and over again. Just avoid Mobil 1 in Nigerian filling stations. Also if you are going to buy from the US, confirm that the EIS and or the ESL issue has been resolved. Aside that, I am replacing my engine and gonna continue using that car till I can upgrade to an E class. |

TheGrandMaster: Hope you are referring to c300 @makurch inquired about. Avoid Mobil 1 Why please, and which oil do you then recommend. |
Re: Mercedes Benz Thread by nakoks(m): 10:28am On Jul 06, 2017 |
makurch: Try and carry out a VIN check before you pick, make sure you avoid the engine range plagued with balanced shaft issue.Thereafter worry about EIS failure, if you can easily ascertain it has been resolved. Its a great ride and if you don't mind the extra power the C350 is my choice any day.cheers 2 Likes |

Good evening peeps, Am about ordering a Mercedes Benz car. Am tired of SUVs so it's definitely a sedan But, am a novice when it comes to Benz. Please which will you recommend thatis very good and rugged for Nigerian roads and least expensive to maintain with a very good fuel economy as am always on the move. All contributions will be highly appreciated as I've just one week to place my bid Danke |

makurch: Nice car I used to have one, I had the 2009 C350 I barely had used issues it, I would advice you get the Non 4matic since you're looking cheap maintenance and Comprehensive insurance is a must cos the aesthetic parts are pretty pricey. Rear wheel drive ones don't have front shafts and the suspension parts are cheaper than the 4matics, The 4matics suspension parts cost sometimes twice as much as the rear wheel driven ones. I was lucky I didn't have the EIS problem. I travelled a lot with mine it was a joy to drive and very compact. The cars are pretty low so you need to drive carefully and slowly over bad roads. I only changed the rear shocks during my year of ownership. 1 Like |

Re: Mercedes Benz Thread by debeo: 10:41am On Jul 07, 2017 |
cne010: It really dspends. Am a little sceptical So let's say between 2m to 5m 2m because people say older models are economical sturdy abd rugged. Plus am seeing it as a risk ( kinder?) But if I can get a newer model that will be economical , I don't mind at all! I love all I've read about Benz and I think it's time to hop in! Nigerian used is totally out of the options an considering! |

SmartchoicesNG: Taste? Do I really have any? I just want a reliable cat, one I can call on any freaking time and will answer faster than Samuel answered God without complaining. I've used 2 vehicle you guys call Japmobile, an SUV and a sedan, I am tired of the difficulty in diagnosing their issues even with my diagnostic scanner and upteemth maintenance (I service every 4 months, with mobile 1 and change all the necessary things) but they never fail to disappoint you. Acura MDX and Toyota Camry. Budget: 2 to 5m |

debeo: Toyota and acura disappoint you? Hian You sure no be lemon abi agbalumo salvage you bought? Toyota n Honda(acura) are amongst the easiest to diagnose, fix and also maintain 1 Like |

Re: Mercedes Benz Thread by Nobody: 10:53pm On Jul 08, 2017 |
debeo: They are good cars I think you have bad mechanics and to think they would be handling the mercedes when you buy it that would be sad. For your Budget I would personally advice a 2008 ML350. |

inze: Acura MDX 2004 Purchased 4 years ago All was well and good as the farthest place it had traveled to was Ibadan. Fast forward Nov 2016, serviced it for December things. Changed oil filter, gear oil everything change able Traveled home safely. One week after going to drop my family at my in laws, car suddenly developed knocking sound. Parked and a mechanic looked at it, confirmedmy fears, engine wan knock. Managed back to a mechanic tgey said was reliable insisted on scanning as my tools were in Las gidi. Got error code that indicated the rings were bad. Brought down engine, replaced the rings and some other things. Entered road, parked up at Asaba, in annoyance i towed it back Second scan said something about crankshaft. I kukuma bought new engine Discovered I had no catalyst, paid extra 110k for that after buying engine for over 300k Engine fixed, part of the legs changed. 2 weeks after car vibrates anytimeam doing 20 to 50km/hr ater 50, it stabilises. I used my scanner, nothing. My Kazeem brought someone's scanner, NOTHING! Kazeem suggested the passenger shaft is bad I changed it Yet, same thing Driver shaft, was next Same night The cap Abi shaft cover was next The same thing after one week In anger, I switched to another Kazeem He pointed out Engine seat I changed He pointed out another nut that should be 12 but that the Kazeem that changed the engine did only 4 Same night! In the process ac packed up That the propelleris bigger for the new engine. I was weak. To correct vibration bushing and linkage Vibration reduced, but was still vibrating small small Till I decided to ask Google and discovered that Acura recovered some MDX 2004 cos of a faulty TORQUE CONVERTER!!!! My regular Kazeem doesn't know what that means. So as soon as ask back to lag, am showing him a picture, hopefully it will have a Nigerian name. Plus my D5 on the dashboard is now blinking, I used my scanner no show Bigger scanner, nothing Again i remember my good friend Google, where I also found out that my OBD2 scanner can never detect that except a Honda Diagnostic Scanner. At this point, I weak, am using the car like that till I make up my mind. The Camry nko? Abeg, a no wan start.. Abeg I've suffered on top motor this year 2 Likes |

Re: Mercedes Benz Thread by sheunpompey1: 6:13am On Jul 10, 2017 |
debeo: Bro ... Sorry for the wahala.... MB is a class on his own... If u are looking at C class... I will suggest u go for W203 kompressor or W202 compressor ... Those are powerful engine... Over 200hp. Though 202 is easier to maintained than 203. Don't go close to 4Matic ooo. The Nigerian road don't like 4matic. Good luck |
Re: Mercedes Benz Thread by sheunpompey1: 6:16am On Jul 10, 2017 |
DEJAVUBOY4: Just be careful of 4matic... All others are good on Nigerian roads .... U will need to sit inside and test drive before making any purchase now... Good luck |

sheunpompey1: Thanks Just that production of 202 ended 2000, you know cars can only be 15 years before they can be imported. I'm looking at 2006, C230 or if I can get any tokunbo locally I will like to start with the last 202 series, maybe 1999 or 2000 c200 or 180. |
