Ohhh.. Was it previously "We do not need your background check" and has now changed to "We are processing your background check, we will send you a message if we need more information"??

Exactly. Background check alone consume most of the processing time.

what they do is verify that your statement of acct is genuine by calling the bank to verify a couple of transactions on your statement of account.
They do not have the right to ask for your account balance (some day after you have printed and submitted your statement of acct), so they cant tell if you went ahead to withdraw all of ur money immediately after u printed ur statement.

My thought tho.
Judgepelumi:

They do bank confirmation if not, how do you think they detect fake bank statements or counter one for insufficient balance? Ask your banks for more clarification

Any application without upfront medicals will be showing "we are processing your background check"

After background check if all things been equal they will send you medical mail while they are reviewing your eligibility, if everything works out fine during your eligibility check next approval. tell your friend to take a chill pile, after this stage medical mail will come. my 2 cent

I do think a land is just to show that you have strong home ties.
It's not used as physical cash.
So any land documents that is recognised by the court of law is fine.

Ask the gurus though, I may be wrong.

Nothing yet.. Just said medical passed.. Upfront medical and "We do not need additional documents".. Seems they haven't started reviewing June applicant at all.. I have heard nothing about a change in status for any June applicant to " We are now reviewing your eligibility".. Fingers crossed shaa.. I am really hoping we meet up with the September 1st resumption date oooo..
It is cool u did upfront medical, as per meeting up with sept. resumption date, lets keep the hope alive. God is faithful.

Please, what do they go through in one's application as the "background check"? I'm just curious to know. What do they actually investigate as one's "background check" in an application? Thank you.

Background check involves,

1 documentation check
2 If applicant has been refused visa before or have had any immigration related issues.
and so many other tins.

You will get your study permit when you get to Montreal. Your air Canada flight is a local flight. You will get your luggage in Montreal and proceed to Air Canada check in counter. You will pay for your luggage too so change some money at the airport. Your POE is Montreal and you will get your study permit there. I don't know how the airport is. I landed in Pearson, Toronto with Turkish airline and I got my SIN number the same day once you have the Canadian address you will be staying at. Then I proceeded to air Canada check in counter. I paid $25 for the 1st luggage and $35 for the 2nd. Its a good period to come into Canada unlike during winter.

Since Montreal is your first point of entry into canada, you will have to clear CBSA and get your permit in Montréal. The flight from Montreal to Winnipeg is considered a local flight.

Your background is strong. Based on given information I can not see an obvious reason for refusal ( except for well establishment in career and no further need for study to improve it?? Not sure though). It may very well end up being a silly reason (somebody got rejected because bank statement did not have a stamp on 2nd page!) which can be fixed in 10 min but you will have no idea what it is unless you get your Caips.

Hi Gurus in the house,

CIC calling to confirm ones documents, does this fall under the category of Background check? And after background checks what is the next stage of the application?

Thanks and God bless!

Thing is, SOME international airlines already have partnership with air canada to transfer passengers and take them to their final destination within canada without a need to check in at any stopover. Such airline issue the tickets(including that of air canada flight) and all the boarding pass to final destination from point of departure. In such partnerships, once your luggages are checked in from your departure point, you get them at your final destination. You only connect with your flights from the stopovers inside the terminal without checking in again.

So confirm with Royal Air Maroc if such partnership exist with air canada. They should be in a good position to advice you on how you will proceed so you know where you will get your study permit and your luggages.

Yes it's, after that you get to eligibility review then approval.

It's during the background check CIC normally request for more document or contact you if there's an issue of misrepresentation in application.
