The number of government workers alone,as well as multinationals who Imknow don't fail in their PAYEE deductions and remittances is already more than that miserable number they posted.Then you add the private business owners and entrepreneurs who pay personal and company tax(like myself).Also what of the ones I call reluctant tax payers who fall into these categories: ,if you ever have a transaction to do with LASG,tax payment is one of the prerequisite ,whether you want to register for LASRRA,send your building plans for approval,register a ward in their public school,e get some kind automobile wey you go even buy register,the LIRS go send you tax assessment to pay .If you break any traffic law in Lagos,you have to pay tax or provide evidence that you are paying,so with these few points of mine,I hope I've been able to convince the LASG and not confuse them that they are lying

Totally agree but the whole process of taxation is a 2-way street, the government have to use the tax to provide security, infrastructure etc.
At the moment I don't blame people who evade tax because the government do nothing with all the tax collected.

Used to work for a company where I had a view of how much Lagos state Inland Revenue rake in monthly and its shocking that the Island is the only place seeing real development in Lagos. A lot more could be done by the government before they start chasing tax evaders

no vex sir, but i don't believe your figures. Mind you i didn't I'm not talking about only bankers who are full time staff. I said bank workers, and its includes, securities cleaners, contract staff, marketers. They all pay tax.

Even Kano State population combined with Lagos State cannot be up to 22 million. We just like to deceive ourselves with fake numbers. Kano city was over counted with around 500,000 in 2006 according to Africapolis research.

Why do tax officials frustrate efforts of genuine tax payers and prevent them from registering? I've tried severally to register but the card wouldn't come out. How can I pay tax without being registered?
