Thanks chief, and my profuse apologies for having to temprarily derail the purpose of the thread by lashing out at that incorrigble, recalcitrant element. This thread is international, it is read all over the world, perhaps the most popular thread on Nairaland in terms of purpose and reach. Imagine just having a non-entity just polluting the thread everytime, not because he has anything tangible to contibute, apart from disputing logic and shyte.

You guys are superstars, all of you, and your reknown amongst Nigerians in diaspora will surprise you. we build daily, we read you guys daily, we learn daily. We don't want any eediort sticking out like a sore thumb just writing rubbeesh without any tangible or discernible relevance to what people want to achieve here.

Thanks for what you people do here. All of you, and yes, I go back to being anonymous and reading as I do, until the fat Buffalo abuses people again and I will come out and put him in his place.

Oh dear, such mighty words for little old me grin

I'll like to hear from anyone that's done interlocking or stamped concrete recently.

Would like to hear gotchas, prices, comparison, etc

Una d on start again, U created new ID just to derail this wonderful thread,.Trouble has left this thread But who ever you are seem it fit to return it,I dont know what you gain from this.

Eric, I am not a Nairalander, as you have obviously deduced from my having to log in for the first time ever today.I just read and learn everyday.I am not aligned with any soul on here.I just got fed up with the shenanagians of this person. I concur, as you said, that the thread should be peaceful. I personally do not gain from the entries that do not relate to building. But I needed to let him know that some people are not convivial to his atrocities here and needed to put him in his place.

My sword is sheated, just as I wrote before you commented.

Will be really good for discussion... as many people never say anything about this or landscaping in general in this forum.

Thank you Sir. Yes, we have seen several advertisement for them here. But we need the end-user (Clients) to come and give us any feedback.

Found the info I needed, in case it's useful for others.
Performed wonderfully for about 18 months, then developed a fault with the electrical ignition system causing small earth leakage current. The fix was to completely disconnect the ignition and use a handheld lighter.

Stamping is far more expensive and fail quickly when not properly executed in-terms of the slab thickness, wiremesh and firmness of the soil.

Interlocks are more rugged and failure is usually locallised and isolated. Also intricate paterns can also be achieved with coloured interlocks but drives the cost closer to that of stamped concrete

That background is high maintenance in Nigeria. If Nigerian, mud and dirty fingers catch that wall, I no think say you go like am after few months. You will need to paint every now and then.

Its sensitive to our routine floor mopping with water.

The alternative is to use polystyrene which is ready made and simply glued to the wall and has far more beautiful designs to choose from.

But the cheapest is to use wood, but the finishing is highly dependant on the skill of the carpenter.

Oh cool, thanks for sharing Sir.

1) Did you consider interlocking also? If so why did you decide on stamped concrete?

2) Could you share cost if possible?

3) How is it holding up so far with traffic?

Thanks once again.

Wow..thanks Sir.

This exact model? Other than the ignition issues, how's the fit and finish holding up?

Sir, thanks for this enlightenment. My engineer said same thing regarding the metcoppo and suggested I roof with long span cos of its notorious leaking nature. With this your write up, am really having a rethink.

I think the problem with the metcoppo is due to mistakes during cutting of the edges due to defective machinery. In my experience, all first aluminium factory cut metcoppo roofs (10 of them)did not suffer any major leak in the first 2years. Also, most open market sourced 0.45mm are actually 0.35mm hence they are too thin for either metcoppo or step tile press stress.

Other than that it was perfect and cost effective.
I bought it for around 35k but my spouse preferred it to our then standing coker of 110k.

This is stamped floor and i was charged # 80,000 by my bricklayer for the plastering of the fence and flooring of the compound (stamped floor inclusive).
So i wasn't charged based on sqm...

I considered interlocking, but was told by my bricklayer that my land isn't waterlogged so there is no need for interlocking and also interlocking is expensive.
I was charged # 80,000 by my bricklayer for the plastering of the fence and flooring of the compound (stamped floor inclusive).
So i wasn't charged based on sqm.
Its over 2months now and no damage yet.

Just for block manufacturers (and home owners alike)... This is what can be achieved aesthetically and cost savings-wise (savings on screeding/plastering/painting )when your blocks are strong and durable
