Hi guys. So I found out what happens during background check and I'm sure this is why it takes time... "There are several different checks. Criminal check deals with verifying if person has any criminal record and it is basically covered by police certificates. Background check mainly verifies education and experience credentials. Then there is background/security check which is conducted completely outside of and independently from Canadian immigration by Canadian intelligence and security agencies, with and/or without cooperation of proper authorities in all countries applicant resided since age 18 (for some nationals since age 16). It looks into applicant's background, activities, associations, etc. to determine if person was and/or is involved in any espionage, terrorism, organized crime, radical groups, crimes against humanity, etc. - how it is done and what is found is classified and CIC only receives "positive" or "negative" decision. Simple enough? Andrew Miller Immigration Consultant Vancouver, British Columbia" 5 Likes 1 Share |

DereI:It's well. It's quite unfortunate the visa officer didn't see it this way. I still think you should look out for schools that would consider the last two years of your undergraduate especially the not so competetive schools. Your profile begs for a master degree. Both your undergrad and work experience have seen consistency. You have a good profile. The VO probably didnt see a need for a PGD since it is not a new area or field to you. A master will in the eye of the VO make you more competitive owing to your profile. Like its known already, most PGD/PGC program in canada are work place tailored and would see people who want to lunch their entry into the market place or a new area go for these programs. You have shown progression in your field already so a PGD may not be advantageous to you(in the VO's eye) Truly sorry about the delay. Just try to pull through, see if you can get a masters in this field(this is only what you need) and soon, you would have forgotten this moment. Also request for your GCMS note. [quote author=DereI post=58577267]Hmmmm....after 12 weeks of patience, Just got a mail from CIC. Delayed. Reason : Length of Proposed stay in Canada. I'm so sad now Well, such is life.[/quote Don't bother yourself much brother. God Will perfect it the next time for us all. Calm down, re-strategies and reapply again. There is hope for the living |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by Austinpee4: 3:02pm On Jul 18, 2017 |
Yomalicious:Not impossible. Just extremely competitive. Some schools would consider an applicant's academic strength(especially the last phase of undergrad) in relative areas of program before there is a likelyhood of being admitted with a degree lower than their minimum requirement. |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by abelajayi(m): 3:30pm On Jul 18, 2017 |
DereI:Sorry for the delay,I think you should look through other ways since your cgpa did not qualify you for a master degree. Also you can really take your time to ruminate on what to do since you didn't do upfront medical its always push one to reapply without proper preparation since one will not want to lose the investments in the medical exam done.pls cheer up |

Alantobie: This is very important. I think our lives on social media and on the internet should be a reflection of who we are. Be disciplined and conservative with what you posts or do on the internet. Whether you have privacy settings on Facebook bla bla bla, intelligence agencies can have access to an up to date information of what you've been doing (read terms and conditions of these sites). Imagine you are the type that propagates hate, religious extremism and tribalism, then you want to go to another man's country with that character(not gonna happen). That's a red flag already. Anyways, my main point is that we all need to be careful of what we share, like or posts on social media and most importantly stay true to ourselves (biko, let's work on having a good character though). Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by princeadedayo: 4:08pm On Jul 18, 2017 |
DereI: Okay, to my understanding, I feel the major problem was because u are specializing in human resoucres, it's either your experience do not relate directly to human resources or you didn't explain well in your sOP how you have Hr experience. office administration is different from human resources. Masters admission would be tight expecially because u finished with less than 3.0 I feel you would still be given a Visa, the Problem should be because u are focusing on HR and you have no background education in it nor work experience as an HR person. Just my view. Kind regards |
