[quote author=Abdon01 post=58617543] Hello bro, sorry for the delay. Officially, GCMS notes are requested from http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/requests-atip.asp https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/requesterInformation. The challenge is you need someone who resides in Canada legally to apply on your behalf and it is CAD $5. There are some sites u can order it itself. but more expensive. |

Abdon01:I still think you should work on your SOP. Avoid generic reasons going for your intended program. Intent should be specific. Eg, Having excelled so well in so so so and with the interest for modern methodologies to equip myself in so so so, the master degree offered in the univer of..... is reflective of my desired research Interest which will in the long run bring ease and also bring sustainable concept in actualizing solutions in so so so. I have firm knowledge in so so... But have limitation in ........ Part of my master degree will enable me learn from professors, faculty and students with different grabs of this area. I choosed this program of all other program because it is...... different from similar programs both in Nigeria and other canadian schools and has so so so advantage. Upon return, so so so is my planned application of my acquired skills. So so so is how I intend to implement it. Once you give officers a logical and a good study plan, it becomes easier to see through your purpose of visit. Your profile is good already. 8 Likes 1 Share |

Abdon01:I am not a guru but I think you SOP lack some key points and that could be why the VO was not convinced that you will return apart from insufficient funds issues. First of all you didn't tell the VO why you choose the program. Yes you might have gained a first class in mathematics but you should let the VO know why you are in the mathematics field and why you chose Canada-at this point you mention your funding offer as one of the factors. Again you didn't tell what you will gain from the Msc program which will boost your career opportunities back in Nigeria-you must know that you should convince the VO that you are just a student who will return home after your studies and not a potential immigrant. Also, you should address what you expect from the Msc program itself. Lastly no need to bring up the benefits of NYSC cause I think the VOs already know. My 2 cents tho. Best of luck in your reapplication. 2 Likes |

Abdon01: Hello boss, What really does your funding entail? Also, your SOP really didnt mention anything about funds. Like my boss @austinepee said, the sop is quite generic and broad. But then, gcms will tell us better... Sorry about the delay. God dey... 3 Likes |

thesoj: Baba I enter. The latest trend is that purpose is ticked alongside finance. I have someone facing same, with proposed program that perfectly align with previous one. I have advised her to let us risk again, without gcms, after perfecting the finance before reapplication. My bet is that our man did not specify full scholarship as his source of fund on one of the CIC forms. I look forward to his comment if otherwise. Also, seeing people's comment on his sop, it is evident that he didn't do justice to his app with it. Have seen many say they can't reduce their visa sop to 1-2 pages. However, when I read many of these sops, Baba mi, they are full of flowery words and stories. Last one I worked on reduced from 3 pages to 1.25 pages. Guys, go straight to the point in your visa sop, with each paragraph treating issues of why you choose your program and Canada, finance, plan after returning to Nigeria, and conclusion of why you need the visa I.e. To attend the program as it will help you achieve your goals in Nigeria. Shikena! Yours truly, Osemigho(TRV learner) 7 Likes 1 Share |

Hmmm... I'm surprised about your TRV denial (particularly given your full funding, recent graduation, and first class grade) as you don't have a study gap nor an employment gap. Please respond to my question about your SOP. You are welcome to PM me, but my response may be slow. I and/or @osemigho/@austinpee should be able to take a look at your SOP. My response will likely be super slow so I suggest you start with @osemigho or @austinpee cos they'd probably respond sooner than I. PS: Modify your post to delete your number. Unfortunately my day is super swamped and I am limited on time to chat on phone. Thx. I am almost certain that you can put forth a much better application next time, if you are willing to spend a ton of time sharpening your application. Abdon01: |

Jumax: Thought I advise you and any other with profile like yours to join express entry thread. While many are refused here, many are getting their PRs there. Go to where you have higher chance - Express entry. When you get your PR, you can go back to any school, even their high school, if that is what you truly desire. |

thesoj: Egbon nla...This her situation weak me. With this kind of profile I probably wouldn't even add sop self cos I will be too proud to be telling unnecessary stories. It is well. Like people rightly pointed out, the finance is the problem. I think purpose of visit comes with insufficient funds these days. A friend of mine too was also delayed two days ago on basis of insufficient funds and purpose of visit. He studied mechanical engineering and going for Meng. CIC has been confusing applicants since time within living memory. It's so unfortunate. Her situation has aggressively aroused my curiosity. My counsel to her is to first apply for her gcms notes and start taking steps towards improving her financial situation. We only make educated guess here. Only the gcms notes can point out the deficiencies in her application. If I were her, I wouldn't hurry to reapply without first ascertaining the real issue for determination and the only way to achieve this is by obtaining her gcms notes as soon as possible. 2 Likes |

Jumax: Have you been called to the Nigerian Bar ? If so, then that your proposed program is a no no. It's raises a red flag already. Paralegal only provide auxiliary services to lawyers. If you're already a lawyer, no VO would see the sense in pursuing a career in paralegal when you already have a career in the legal profession. This move will not be considered an academic or a professional progression. If you'd ask me, it's technically a regression. A VO would want to know if your proposed program will advance your career. Except you are not yet a lawyer, then your application with this program might be an exercise in futility more particularly since you already possess an llm. Pls be properly guided. However, please seek comprehensive opinions about this before you take further steps. Kind regards. 2 Likes |
