same prob here. Any solution yet?
Settings - Additional settings - Language and Input - Text to speech Engine - tap the settings icon beside Google Text to speech Engine - Install Voice data - English (United Kingdom) - then cancel the download.

Also, on the same page you have 'install voice data', tap 'settings for Google Text to speech Engine' and uncheck everything.

For those wanting to know about the discrepancy between RN4X and RN4. I checked online for sometime and I was able to deduce that the major difference is just the additional bands supported by RN4. There were a lot of conflicting information regarding the difference stated by different people. Ostensibly, a lot of people - including myself before - do not know that RN4 has MTK and SD versions and assumed that RN4X is the only SD version.

Some even said RN4 battery is not efficient has that on RN4X—but I disagree because they both have the same battery size and other specs ( I stand to be corrected ). I believe Battery could have been as a result of different versions of roms in the devices because I've seen people complained about battery inefficiency caused by updates.

Some said there are screws close to USB port on RN4. Perhaps, they were talking about the MTK version without knowing an SD version exist.

Some said camera difference - true maybe or maybe not. But personally, I disagree for the bolded reason I gave above.

Some said the language written on the box and manual. The sellers know better.

In a nut shell, the difference between both devices is almost non-existant and if you are interested in using smile and other networks that only support band 20 then go for note 4.

Hope I have helped someone here?

Lol! One the reasons I opted for Xiaomi device was because of its specs which is far more better than even the latest Tecno/Gionee last year. Gionee was/is overhyped because of good battery capacity aside that nothing else interest's me about that device, as for Tecno they've really tried for Africa at least even the poor were able to afford Android phones. I still give Tecno credits until date.

I use Airtel as my main go-to for internet and I'm in Lagos. I have Airtel and Swift mifis that I load only when I want to do heavy downloads on my PC. So far I've had no connectivity issues with the mifis on all my Xiaomis. Should I expect any issues with my expected 4x in terms of the connectivity? I've never had to bother about bands etc
Oh yes, I also use 9mobile too, sometimes, all phone data too

I'm referring to phone Data and not mifi, ie subscribing to a mobile data plan on a sim inserted in your phone.

Just as to refresh the Lte bands:

MTN 4G LTE Band: supports band 7 (2600MHz) & 20 (800MHz)

Glo 4G LTE Band: supports band 28 (700MHz)

Etisalat 4G LTE Band: supports band 3 (1800MHz)

NTel 4G LTE Band: supports band 3 (1800MHz) and 8 (900MHz)

Spectranet 4G LTE supports band: 40(2300MHZ)

Swift 4G LTE supports band: 40(2300MHZ)

Smile 4G LTE supports band: 20(800MHZ).

If you have a mifi that connects to any of these, then u can even buy a sagem phone and 'blowse' grin

The good battery backup na normal na, a combination of big battery plus slow processor = good battery endurance +laggy phone.
Worse thing b say my Redmi note 4x beat any of those mtk 5000mah phones for battery wink.

You know say the reason why Gionee sell well well for Africa most especially Nigeria na because say we no get steady light. I see Xiaomi taking over in the near future because you get high specs at cheaper rate than the likes of Samsung & Co
