This is the reason why I will always speak up when I see things aren't done properly in the state of Osun. Am asking the opon Imo tablet that ogbeni distribute to the secondary school students pls am asking has it yield a good results niii. Obviously no. For the past six years now it has been bad. Well the structures of the schools are there but there's no library in all our schools. I believe if there's library in all our schools there will be changes in all the exams. Am really worried about the results of the Waec. If these students doesn't pass the whole nine subjects this time it will be difficult for them to catch up. The solution here is library and good quality teachers. The governor should pay the teachers on time not half salaries all the time. Am really disturbed on this development. 1 Like |

neoOduduwa: Na expo dem dey do pass for there. Abia was number one on the list of the states with highest exam malpractice incidences. Infact the entire SE led the list. http://dailypost.ng/2017/06/20/reuben-abati-jamb-2017-matters-arising/ The statistics on 2017 UTME malpractice is noteworthy. Most of the affected states are from the South East and South South as follows: Abia (381 cases), Imo (193), Anambra (152), Enugu (114), Cross River (78), Ebonyi (48), Akwa Ibom (44) while the states with the lowest number of cases are from the North viz: Kebbi (1), Kaduna (16), Kano (29), Katsina (2), Kogi (7) Sokoto (25), Taraba (4), Zamfara (1). Yobe and Jigawa states had no reported case of examination malpractice, only 2 cases of multiple registration from the latter. Could it be then that students and CBT operators in the North are more honest than their Southern counterparts, or perhaps less computer savvy? Does the 2017 UTME say anything about national character? 13 Likes 2 Shares |

neoOduduwa: If I show you stats now that disprove your claim, you'll just find another excuse. Whether it's WAEC or JAMB or Unity school cut-off statistics, the SW have fallen behind the SE over the last 2 decades of releasing stats. Mind you, JAMB have made serious efforts with the new Computer Based system to check rampant malpractice, but it has traditionally been as prone to the same abuses as WAEC. The worst case of exam cheating I've seen in my life was my JAMB center in Isasi in the Ojo area of Lagos in 2006. I could swear in a hall of hundreds of people, you couldn't count 10 people that didn't cheat. I personally counted just one girl in glasses who solely faced her work while the rowdy, chaotic hall in connivance with bribed invigilators and supervisors were misbehaving. I remember they initially seized the entire center's results and I was crying, but they released the results about a week later. But 95% of that center should never have had JAMB results. I'll also admit though that the SE and SS have traditionally been more indicted for malpractice and irregularities than other regions. I've always wondered myself whether there's underlying politics behind that, because having spent my whole life in the SW, malpractice seems pretty rampant here, though many Yorubas like to delude themselves otherwise. 5 Likes |
